He was on some of bob dylans original nashville recordings. He has a brand new cd all acoustical, all ten songs, which is fantastic. We have our guys tell all panel. We have t. D. Jakes daughter here, sarah. Beautiful. Has a fascinating story to tell of being lost and then being found, yeah. Well talk to her in a little bit. Hey okay. So just when we taught Tori Spelling was getting her life together, and happy with her husband and how many children does she have now . Eight . They announced they were breaking up. Thats a terrible and sad thing. Not only are they they made that announcement, they made another announcement, theyre going to do a docuseries about trying to repair their troubled marriage, called true tori airing on lifetime in late april and the press release, this is how theyre selling it, calls it a unique Television Event where they will allow the audience to witness the most difficult and unpredictable period in toris life. Which begs the question, why in the world would you open yourself up to that, if it is such an, indeed, terrible, trying time in your life, why make it worse, why complicate it with cameras everywhere. And i dont understand docuseries as opposed to reality how do they differentiate . It sounds more high brow, doesnt it . It is the same thing. Same thing probably. I like tori. Ive grown to see how hard she she is a hard working girl, and she loves this man, loves these kids, from all accounts shes a terrific mom. But it is almost like Gwyneth Paltrow and chris martin right now, what they want, you know, to document everything theyre going through right now their life is documented. I find it weird, with more and more Reality Stars we meet and tori is an actress, shes known more for her reality stuff, they seem to divide their life up in seasons. When we meet them, how are you doing . Oh, my god, were in season nine. They break up their lives like that. It is not even theyre saying youre not going to know that i broke up with my boyfriend, thats in the third one coming up. So in a sense, ironically, they lose their very sense of reality. And i do think if you thats deep. Write it down. If you really want to repair your relationship, i dont think a docuseries. Lindsay is trying to do that now and other people are trying to fix, repair, mend themselves through television series. I cant imagine that really works in the long haul. May work right now because we want to see what its like and there are people who are going through divorces who may watch tori and dean and say, oh, these are the tools they used, maybe we can try that. Having been through tough stuff in my own life, being well known when that happened already, the best thing i did was went away, shut it down, go home, lock your doors, turn off the tv, dont read anything, and work at what makes you happy, which is your family and your marriage and and i dont think i would be married if i hadnt done that. And i also i think i know for sure my kids would not be what they are today had they been forced to be exposed. I just think it is you pay a horrendously high price. And i love the scripture that says im not this is not a judgment on anybody, but just a reminder, what does it profit a man or a woman if they gain the whole world and use their very soul. And people have no idea how easy it is to become soulless. Nobody sets out to say, i think ill go lose my soul today. It is a process. And you know what the process is all about, hodawoman . Tell me. Choices. Every day we have choices. Do i sound like im preaching . Yeah. A little bit. Just that sarah jakes is here and her daddy would like. Praise jesus. All right, anyway, think of been married for seven years and they have four children. We reached out for comment because we are nbc news. And we have not received a response because they didnt call us back. Good news we wish them all the best. We want everybody we dont want conscious uncoupling. Were over it. We want you to work at it. Okay. That from two divorced people. Sad. Thats sad what we just sad and hypocritical. No, it isnt. Ill tell you why what you do when youre working at a marriage, you want it to last and someone divorces you and you really dont have any choice in it. Are you then a hypocrite when you say that didnt happen to you. It certainly did. Oh. I thought you did it. No. Oh, well, i did it. Talking about you, hoda. I did mine. Anyway, lets talk about the voice. If you ever read one of my books, you would know this. I read the back covers of both. There are ten. All of them. You came out for that signing of the stuff im not allowed it talk about. You came. It would have been lonely. Big announcement on the voice. Pharrell williams is who is pharrell . Because im happy because im happy clap along if you know i know that song. Hes the one with the hat. I know that. So pharrell is he was the one also with robin thicke in blurred lines. He is going to be the new cee lo. Hell be coaching the voice. What do you think of that . So he was a mentor. Im happy for him. Want me to be happy for him . Yes. Yes. Okay. Happy if you feel thank you. So anyway chris martin made his debut as a mentor and was in the show yesterday for he sprinkled in, well call it that. I heard there was very little. Little of him. Lets take a look and see if we can get who the coaches chose okay, hodi. Lets do it. Battle one, from team adam, christina versus sam. Sam is the one wearing the dress. What . Yes. Life like a swinging vine swing my heart across the line seek it out and you shall find i dont think the world is so i feel something so right doing the wrong thing i feel something so wrong doing the right thing okay. We both, i think, agree, the winner of the battle round is christina. The one in the pants. Lets see if were right. Thats who adam chose. Oh. I hope she has a battle number two, team blake. Tess versus jake. Ive been loving you for such a long time girl expecting nothing in return just for you to have a little faith in me time time is our friend because there is no end all you got to do is have a little faith in me i said i will hold you up i will hold you up have a little faith in me church. Im going with the one church. That was so good. Going with the one in the dress. I think im going with the one in the dress too. Lets see what happened. I got to cast my vote for loyalty and stick with jake. Hes been with me all along. Jake worthington moving on to the playoffs. Congratulations, jake. All right. Tess, and coaches, let me remind you, tess is available to steal. What would you like . Everybody everybody . Everybody tried. I could barely get the words out of my mouth. I have to go with shakira. Tess has a new coach. Shakira, she might win the whole thing now. What is usher wearing on his head . What is that . What was that . I dont know. Somebodys mentoring. I dont know you know what, you know why, hes worried about pharrell and the hat. Whats going on . That must be it. None of them get enough attention. The voice returns tonight at 8 00, 7 00 central here on nbc. All right. What else is going on . Nothing, we got to go. We answer your has anybody learned one thing from our guys tell all panel . Probably not. But theyre fun. T. D. Jakes daughter sarah on hitting rock bottom, but she got back up again. Thank the lord, she sure did. And also Charlie Daniels and i hear hes bringing his fiddle. At 13 years old, sarah jakes found herself pregnant and like any girl in that situation, she was scared to tell her dad. But it wasnt just any dad, hes bishop t. D. Jakes, one of the most influential pastors in the whole country. Sarah was shunned at school, gossiped about at church, eventually she married and divorced, but she didnt let the pain dictate her future. She writes all about it in her new memoir called lost and found finding hope in the detours of life. Hello. Very, very nice to have you with us. We met your dad so many times. So glad to be here. To be 13 and to have to reveal to your parents that you are pregnant must have been one of the, i guess, scariest things youve ever had to do. It was so scary that i didnt want to do it. My sister actually wrote a letter and told them and left it in the mailbox and luckily she was smart and wise enough to finally include them in everything, but i was terrified. How did they react . What was your dads initial reaction . Both my parents were devastated. I dont think anyone dreams their child will have a baby at that age, but at the end of the day, they really rallied together and supported me. If anybody understands grace, it is your dad and mom. They both they have been in ministry for the longest time. And it has to be for your own family as well. You were a little bit of a rebel. You grew up in this home that everybody thought should be perfect, but you knew you were different, you wanted to be your own, unique sarah. Im reading your book right now. That was very i think she understood that you were completely unique human being, just didnt have some of the tools at the age of 13 to figure that out. Exactly. You dont name the father out of respect. Mmhmm. And you have done all this time, right, all these years and tell us why you wanted to do that . Hes still young and still processing and i didnt want to necessarily expose everything that happened. I wanted to share my story and my truth. And what are you hoping there are other kids who are going through trying situations like this, and i think the book you find it very relatable. What are you hoping people will take away from this . I think even bigger than children, i think were all carrying scars and wounds and we have these memories about ourselves that make us cringe sometimes. And so im hoping that by sharing my story and give someone else the courage to embrace who they are, and then begin to really dream again and decide where i do want to go from this after the hurt . How old are your kids . 11 and 4. And shes 25. Youre a kid yourself. Do you talk to your 11yearold about the birds and bees and everything. We talk about everything. We try keep communication very open. So i can be along with his processing, see how hes thinking and processing at school. Does he know anything about you and what happened to you in your younger life . I wouldnt share my story publicly without speaking to him first, it is his story as well. I said, malachi, do you care mom is sharing her story. He said, if it is helping other people, we should continue to tell our story. Hes such a wise little kid. What does his name mean in hebrew . Messenger. Hes such a blessing and helps us grow as a family. We appreciate you coming to see us. It is a terrific book. It really is. And it is worth the read, definitely. Love to your family. Thank you. Your dads movie heavens for real is coming out. Yes, excited about that. Country legend Charlie Daniels gets out his fiddle for us. And our handsome men are here, the panel that answers all the questions, allegedly. You never learn anything. What ya got there . Oh, new cheezit grooves. Its a cheezit, but its light and crispy like a chip, kind of the best of both worlds. Theres more than one world . No. Its just theyre among us . [ gasps ] youre one of them. Help hes got a probe its a pen. [ male announcer ] we take the time for our cheese to mature in our new cheezit grooves. Hey kevin. Still eating chalk for hearburn . Yea. Try alka seltzer fruit chews. They work fast on heart burn and taste awesome. These are good. Told ya im feeling better already. Alkaseltzer fruit chews. Enjoy the relief time now to find out what your man is really thinking when our guys tell all, we gathered the panel and theyre here to answer your relationship questions. Third in the lineup, comedian and married father of three, he says theyre his, chuck nice, seen tonight on hgtvs thats so house hunters. Another one . And last but not least, divorced and still single bob guiney. All right. Just epically sad. Lets go across the street for our first question. My husband thinks he knows everything about relationships, how can i get my husband to stop giving women advice about their relationships . Im speechless. That happens to be ricks wife. April fools. I was wondering why she was hanging out at the house so long. Dont you have a job . Your husband is blessed and highly favored. Whats his name. But i still want you to answer the question. Say the question again. How can i get my husband to stop giving women advice about their relationships . I would recommend a butt naked run through. Hell be so preoccupied, hell keep his mouth shut. Butt naked run through always works. Before we go any further, i want to say, if the next question my girlfriend shows up that would be problematic, wouldnt it . Yes. Here we go. Viewer email. From ashley. My boyfriend and i have been living together for almost a year. Before we lived together we are couldnt keep our hands off of each other. And now i have to beg to be touched. He is more interested in his ipad and espn than me and it makes me feel unwanted. What should i do or say to not hurt his feelings but to get my point across. She has to instigate it. Hear me out. I think at this point, it is one of those things you got to set the ipad down and make the moment to have some intimacy. I cant believe im saying something serious right now, but because at the end of the day, it is, like, shes as invested as he is, and you got to set down the ipad sounds like hes not invested. His eyes are going to the ipad. God only knows whats on that . We know. Not only god knows whats on it, i know whats on it. Your fiancee is here. I just moved in with her last july. When you first move in with somebody, you have a roommate now and theyre not just your girlfriend. Now a roommate and youre learning how to live with each other and all the quirks. It is on both sides. The woman has got i think the man has to as well. You have to make her feel sexy, make her feel like shes the woman in the relationship. Maybe it is what you say about the bus thing. Thats what it is. No man runs for a bus once hes already on it. You got to get off the bus. There are people who are looking at your wife, your girlfriend with the same eyes you used to look at her with. You got to remember, if youre not doing the things you did to get her, somebody else will. If she gets another bus. Yes. Buses break down. What does the bus company do . They send out another bus. Theyre going to answer more questions. And Charlie Daniels. Were back with more of today on this booze day tuesday with more of our guys tell all panel. We have josh segarra and chuck and rick and the still single radio host bob guiney. All right. Were working on it. Out on the street. This is lisa from West Virginia and my question is what is the most appealing attribute a man would look for in an older woman . Someone who looks just like you, lisa. Oh, yeah. Did you like what i just good answer. You like the way i sucked up to you . I did. Wasnt that good . You did a good job. You look for personality characteristics, love, loyalty, honesty and to be able to down a bottle of vodka. Somebody confident in who they are and confident in themselves. Do you guys like older women . I do, yes. My fiancee is older than i am. I cant say it, shell kill me. A few years older. Just somebody that is confident, that it has to be on both sides. If shes going to walk around and be insecure about it all the time, it is a turnoff. I think it is sexy for im an old soul. I like if you look at my ipad and music it oates redding, marvin gay. Youre on there. Thats old, baby. Every once in a while, i listen to it is like kids got to do their swing thing. Women have it figured out. They have dated those guys. Know some stuff up here. She ran through butt naked holding a chicken. And a knife like this, exactly. What do you want . What do you want . Lets go we told you wouldnt learn a thing. Teach katie something. She says my husband never takes me out anymore. His excuse is we dont have the money to do so. Whenever i convince or drag him out of the house, i always pay. However, if he wants to go out with his friends or buy something for his car, there is always money in the budget. Why doesnt he want to take me out . Heres what you do. You tell him, start having sex with your friends and your car. Thats what you need to do. Seriously, you got money to go out with your buddies but not with your wife . There is a bigger problem. They go out, she needs to one of those marriages where they keep everything separate. More problems than what theyre talking about. You pay for it because she pays for it. If she stops paying for it a lot of trouble right now. I have a 14yearold daughter, but this is also how i was raised. If you are a woman, you should never pay for anything ever. And the reason is is because you got what we want. As long as you got what we want, you should never pay. Because you can rest assured, if the tables were turned, we would bleed you dry. Wow. The guys are talking about you, letting you know. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It is spring. April 1st. I decided to show up for work. Awesome. So we have a plethera of different spring vegetables. Snap peas, different colored carrots, mushrooms. What i thought would be fun since your viewers wanted chicken, were going to flavor the chicken. So thyme, parsley, a little garlic, pepper flakes. One other thing, but we probably fennel seed. You take the chicken. Instead of making a whole chicken the way the guys wanted, which makes it more difficult. They just want to watch you carve it up. What i like to do is put the herbs underneath the skin. And it makes it look really pretty and also flavors it. Makes it a wonderful aroma. You take the chicken after you did all that, and put it in the pan. Oil in the bottom there. Little oil. And for about five minutes you can brown it. Okay . You get a nice sort of and this makes everything smell good. Take the chicken, put it in there for me. Do you cook at all . Every time. Not much. I like to cook once in a while, but thanksgiving is the only take she cooks. Blah, blah, blah. Thats the thing. Were getting somewhere here, ladies. Were getting somewhere. Anyway, you finish the chicken in the oven for 15 minutes. And then you make the sauce. Uhhuh. Oh, lord. Oh, no. Im stuck in the middle of this now. You take the carrots and the mushrooms and snap peas and you could you use anything you like . You can use any vegetable you want. Thank you, giada. Anything. Whatever you want. Her mothers stuffing is the best ever. Oh, my gosh. You cook these down for a few minutes. Thats when it happens. Mark this day on your calendar, people who go, when is it going to happen . Todays the day. And then what . And you cook the vegetables down for another five minutes. Wow. Turn that down so you dont burn yourself. Like you care. Okay. We cook it down for another five minutes and kathie lee i think it is on high. No, it is not. Are you sure . Its off. Okay. You cook the veggies. The chicken is out of the oven like that and you just go like that. And, yes, any vegetables will do, kathie lee. It doesnt really matter. People will wonder about that at home, giada. I care about the people at home. Thats right. I know you do. Let me cut a piece for you. Not as good as your moms stuffing, but im sure its delicious. Have a veggie. Here, try this. No, thank you. Here, try it okay. Only because of giada. Because giada made it. Anyhow, any veggies. The spices delicious. All right, giada, youre the best. You are. You guys uncoupling or whatever that word is. Were consciously uncoupling. All right. Grammy winner Charlie Daniels. All right. And from chicken to a little man meat thats an awful thing to say. A performance by the tenderloins. Youll see them here first live right after this. We hate to use the cliche, but we will. Hey kevin. Still eating chalk for hearburn . Yea. Try alka seltzer fruit chews. They work fast on heart burn and taste awesome. These are good. Told ya im feeling better already. Alkaseltzer fruit chews. Enjoy the relief we hate to use the cliche, but we will. Who does not love this tune, the devil went down to georgia, the signature song of the Charlie Daniels band which won them a grammy. You can say charlies career picked up ten years prior to that when the great bob dylan hired him as a session music in nashville. Now hes taking tribute to dylans music off the grid doing it dylan. Tell us a little bit. I spoke to you at length. I had no idea this was part of your past. You were a dylan fan. Well, yeah. Ive been a dylan fan for a long time. I was in nashville in 1969 and bob dylan was coming into town to do a national skyline. And everybody was talking about it. And they wanted to i wanted to play on a session. And, well, look at me. But i was only supposed to play in one session and had another guitar player coming in. When the session was over and i was packing up, bob dylan asked bob johnson, the producer, where is he going . He said, i have another guitar player coming in. He said i dont want another guitar player, i want him. It was the greatest nine words that ever had been spoken over me at the time. You ended up doing two albums with him. Three albums, yeah. National skyline, selfportrait and new morning. It was just he was always kind of putting players names on the back of the albums. Hes the kind of artist people wanted to know everything about. Flip the album over and look and there was my name. So it legitimized me quite a bit. You also wanted players to play his music their way, total freedom. Yeah. His songs, but your way to play it. Go for it. And your fiddle is sitting there on the side table. You like to play that . Oh, yeah, yeah. What i like about this cd, it is acoustic. Acoustic ail pull. Right. It is off the grid, doing it dylan. Can you play a little mr. Tambourine man or something. Lets go back a little farther than that. Now, do you still go out and play . Yes, im doing 100 dates this year and ten grand ole opry appearances. The crowds must be crazy for you. Our crowds, we have got i have a special part of our fan club called century club. And when you come to 100 shows over the years, i give you a belt buckle. You would be surprised how many i passed out. Youre kidding. Youve been together a long time. 39 years now. And the youngest member, the newest member for three years. Do they ever tease you about your mothers stuffing . They better not tease me about my mothers stuffing. I make stuffing. Corn bread. Im a horrible cook you make good stuffing . Yeah, maam. I went down to the dressing room to say hello to you and the first thing i notice, you tell someone what theyre like right away. Youre so kind to everybody who walks in, when we were taking a picture you said, wait, do you want me in the picture. Everybody was like, you are the picture. Thats your personality. Im just an old country boy that gods been very good to and i just i love people. I honestly do. I dont hate anybody. I hate some things people do sometimes, but i dont hate anybody. Love everybody. And still loving what youre doing after all these years. Thank you so much. And bob called him and said he was excited hes going to do the album. Thank you so much for coming to see us. Good luck with the album. We love you. Thank you for coming to see us. Tomorrow, be rosalind kind. And performance by frankie ballard. And mary higgins clark, every week, a new book. Im here to help.
