Sources say at least one of the deputies had a history of using excessive force. Last thursday, 31yearold Michael James tyree, a white man transient was found dead in his cell. The sources say the sheriffs investigators became suspicious when the coroner revealed the inmade had died of massive internal bleeding consistent with being beaten. The following day the Sheriffs Office wasnt releasing much information but there were many election to reporters from Anonymous Sources and as a result, watchdog groups began to pressure the agency and calling for more transparency. Reporter mother and three children were walking to their vehicle on Second Avenue when a car hit them in the street. There was no crosswalk around. The woman spoke only spanish so this neighbor translated for emergency workers. She said, i dont remember. She just kept saying the car came and boom. Thats all she could say. Reporter one of the children was 6 months, the other a year and a half. They were both airlifted to Childrens Hospital oakland. We believe the injuries were lifethreatening. Reporter the mother was taken to john muir. Neighbors say the sun is blinding on this street during the earlymorning hours and the driver said he couldnt see and didnt expect anybody to be in the middle of the street. The arrest comes after a three weeklong manhunt for duane aguero. He and two others were caught on Office Surveillance cameras allegedly killing 38yearold christopher wrenn. The two other suspects in the case were shot and killed by police last month. Today a judge will hear testimony for the fourth day in a row in the kate steinle homicide case. The judge will use the testimony to decide if theres enough evidence to try juan lopezsanchez accused of fatally shooting kate steinle on pier 14 in San Francisco a couple of months ago. Sanchez says it was an accident and one person said the bullet ricocheted before hitting steinle. A female victim at a college says a man attacked her in a bathroom at the Napa Valley College campus. Oakland police are searching for a man who opened fire outside a home near 23rd street around 4 30 p. M. Then police say the suspect walked into the home to deliver the final shot.
