Police have not released a motive in thursdays deadly shooting but we are getting a closer look at how it was all carried out. Cbs news has learned that investigators found a note left by Chris Harper Mercer the gunman who killed nine and injured seven thursday on the campus of Umpqua Community college in roseburg, oregon. Law enforcement sources say it is several pages long and in it, the 26yearold made statements suggesting that he may have been depressed and angry. Police say mercer was wearing body armor when he walked into a classroom and opened fire. So far we have recovered 13 weapons. Out of those 13 weapons, we currently have in custody six recovered at the school, seven recovered at the shooters residence. Reporter the rampage continued until officers arrived a few minutes later. The police chief calls them heroes. He fired upon them and there was an exchange of gunfire. Ultimately, he was neutralized. Reporter hospitals are making Mental Health professionals available to everyone here in roseburg. Community leaders dont have to look long or far to learn how other cities have dealt are mass shootings. A frustrated president obama addressed the nation last night. According to the washington post, every week of his second term has seen a mass shooting somewhere in america. This week, its roseburg, oregon. So far, there are no details on the victims.
