Special agents performed the largest opioid takedown of medical providers in the tountry. This is a day that we get to take pills off the street. Were saving lives. Glor and, a marine crawls to the finish to honor the fallen. The pain that i was going through is nothing compared to the pain that they went through. Glor good evening. Im jeff glor. And this is our western edition. We are going to begin tonight with round one in what is shaping up to be three days of very dangerous weather. At least three tornadoes were reported a short time ago in the texas panhandle in oklahoma. This funnel cloud appeared in the town of shadduck, oklahoma. We have not gotten reports on tomage yet. Earlier, hail storms pelted northern texas and new mexico. Wbteorologist megan glaros of ndbm in chicago is here with the mentst, and, megan, as we mentioned, just the beginning here. Yeah, this is a multiday ugent starting a few hours ago and continuing through friday. You can see where we have the severe thunderstorm watch right now. It extends from texas all the way up through oklahoma, into kansas, parts of missouri as well. They have extended that as we are starting to see storms popping farther north. We have tornado warnings, we ther severe thunderstorm warnings, hail to baseball size has already been reported. Part of the problem is, we have a clash between dry air and moist air, the brown showing the dry, the moist air in the green. And as that collision happens, youre likely to see storms hebbling up with the progression of that collision area. Now, looking into tomorrow, thre likely to see the potential for there to be even more of a tornado chance, less s a hail chance, more tornado probability around the deep south from louisiana into the florida panhandle. Damaging winds and flash tooding also a potential there. But then, working into that very llsy travel day that is the friday before easter, all up and arwn the east coast, the storm system progresses towards the atlantic and will create some rpple effects in that regard as ll, jeff. Glor megan glaros watching tl of it for us this week. Megan, thanks very much. The big story we are following tonight, the sudden end in colorado to the search for a teenager who authorities feared was planning an attack to mark 20 years since the massacre at columbine, in which 12 students and one teacher were killed. Today, columbine and many other rehools near denver were closed as a precaution, but the suspect apparently killed herself. Mrry petersen has more on what happened. Reporter here in the woods west of denver, authorities were taking no chances. They went in, guns drawn, after getting a tip that 18yearold sol pais was armed and in the area. They later found her body during the search, ending a threeday manhunt that rattled coloradans just days before the anniversary he the Columbine School massacre. At this point it looks as if she was alone, that she took her own life with the weapon that she procured. Reporter after she went missing from her south florida home, police found what they described to cbs news as deeply theturbing posts online and they alerted the f. B. I. Police said she had an infatuation with columbine. A profile on what appears to be pais social media account read, be the best killer you can be, and being alive is [expletive deleted] overrated, alongside the sketch of a gun. Ale had traveled from florida to denver monday night where she legally purchased a pumpaction shotgun and ammunition. Assponding to what they described as a credible threat, two dozen schools took security precautions yesterday, and stday, half a Million Students in the denver metro area were told to stay home. To close an entire metro area is not an easy decision, but at the end of the day, its the right decision, and the best decision, to protect all of our kids. Reporter parents, like lyndsey schwartz, a mother of three in denver schools, supported the move. And it was a huge inconvenience, is a huge inconvenience for so many tople, but better than not r ving them come home. Oldeporter while stuck at home, her 10yearold son jackson kept in touch with his friends. I had a lot of friends who were just texting, like, its, you know, really scary. Reporter jeff, they do active shooter drills in schools chross this area. Cd here, in the School District that includes columbine, they start those drills in kindergarten. Glor all right, barry petersen, good to have you erere. Barry, thank you very much. Atth the attack happening 20 years ago this week, we sat down ath five columbine survivors, each with a different story then and a different message today. Chat includes michelle wheeler, a teacher in the School District currently, now the mother of a 13yearold. Ayw does that impact the way you raise her and. I started telling her about the shooting when she was five and going into kindergarten. And i started very developmentally appropriate, just saying, mommy is sad that her friends are in heaven. And then as she got older, i aarted to tell her a little bit more. Ke hardest day of my life was sending her to kindergarten. Hhad no idea what i was doing, sty i was letting her go. And every day still is a struggle. Glor do you think where she can get out places, exits . O well be in the Doctors Office or king supers or somewhere, and ill say, show me five places where youll hide, because it could happen anywhere, and i want her to be anepared. And i think it makes me feel prepared. Glor we will have much more with the survivors of columbine tomorrow on the cbs evening news. Also tomorrow, the Mueller Report is due to be released. Ag far, attorney general william barr has released four pages related to the investigation of russian interference in the 2016 election his summary. Tomorrow we will see nearly 400 pages, though some will likely be blacked out. Epula reid has a preview. He reporter as washington braces for the release of the redacted Mueller Report, President Trump said in a radio hterview, hes ready. This should never happen to a ,resident or to this country again, what took place, and youll see a lot of very strong shings come out tomorrow. Reporter the president s personal attorneys have prepared a counterreport to emphasize there were no charges of collusion or obstruction against the president or anyone else. There are reports tonight the Justice Department and the white anuse have had numerous conversations about the report. There was no collusion and there was no obstruction. Reporter in a summary released last month, attorney general william barr said el rial Counsel Robert Mueller ded not find evidence the enesidents campaign coordinated with moscow to influence the 2016 election. And barr determined there was not enough evidence of obstruction of justice, angering democrats. Tomorrows report could shed light on President Trumps efforts to thwart the investigation, and a heavily redacted version could fuel a bitter partisan feud over the publics right to see the results of muellers work. Barr has promised transparency, but says he will redact grand jury material, information that could impact ongoing investigations, classified material, and evidence against people not criminally charged. We plan to identify very specifically which redactions relate to which category and try to explain why that redaction was made. Reporter but democrats say thats not enough. The central concern here is that attorney general barr is not allowing the facts of the report to speak for themselves but is trying to bake in the narrative about the report to the benefit of the white house. All right, so paula it promises to be a busy glor all right, so, paula,sy day tomorrow. After the report comes out, how does the white house plan to thspond . Reporter jeff, the president said he may hold a press conference after the report comes out, but we know the ttorney general and Deputy Attorney general will hold a press Conference Tomorrow morning at 9 30. What we dont know is what time ehis redacted Mueller Report onll be released and whether well have it before that press conference. Glor okay, but we will have a special report tomorrow. G s news will have live s verage, including paula reid. Paula, thanks very much.
