Two workers restoring highway 17 after a mudslide in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Were run over by a dump truck that was also working in the area. One man died in the accident. Kron4s Lydia Pantazes is in the Santa Cruz Mountains with details on the man who was killed. Its been nearly a month since residents in the woodside area could take highway 84. Since january 12th crews have been working on an active mudslide. It has closed the major thurough fair between grand view drive and and portola. Drivers now have to resort to old honda road which they say is dark. Narrow and can take up to an hour depending on traffic. Crews say they will not be able to make major changes until the rainy season is over in st helena overflowing rainwater and runoff exploded from the napa river spillway. The powerful display caused people to pull over on highway 128 to take pictures and marvel. The excess rainfall also created imprompu waterfalls. And hazards. Like flooded roadways. The serial Bank Robber Known as the bearded bandit has been sentenced to 45 months in prison. 31yearold Kenneth Ellis from stockton pleaded guilty to robbing 8 different banks in the bay area and 3 in the sacramento area all of the robberies took place in march of 2016.
