Its all part of a program called cops and kids. A monthly mentoring initiative meant to create bonds and trust between Police Officers and neighborhood children. In objection of 2010 she was passenger in a car that was struck by another vehicle going 72 miles per hour. The accident happened only 1 mile from her home. Corey suffered a traumatic brain injury which forced her to relearn everything taking her a year just to wig get her toe. She remembers the wiggle pa part. Its been hard work for corey now 23. And its been a long slow Recovery Process. Hollywood gives you their version, you know, you have an injury, you lose your memory, you wake up and the end of the story well, real life is very different. But this family took a different approach to recovery. Not only woke up coreys senses but the attention of a local restaurant. She began a Recovery Process with using spices and flavors and smells and cooking for people in the community and i thought, wow, if she can do ahead and do Something Like that for her community we could definitely bring her into our house and give her the opportunity to cook a little b bit. Now corey is cooking in the kitchen of not your average joes in glenn mills. To raise money for the r of a house harness system that will allow corey to stand and walk on her own at home. As she does with a harness in therapy. One word to describe what this will do we think the harness as technology that picks you back up an louse you also to push the envelope. Progress shes made over five and a half years is incredible. This is all this kid has dreamt about. Youll be working thon one. You say youll never know your limits until you push yourself. And chef corey lives by that recipe. Coreys mom said she hasnt stood that long in five years. And not your average joes doubled their orders for average tuesday night.
