Police say jerry needed six staples in his neck, but hes expected to make a full recovery. Wow, that was incredible video , matt, unfortunately, not talking about incredible forecast today, but it is kind of better than yesterday, at least as far as the temperature goes. Yes, you know, depends on how you take it. Cooler temperatures, but humidity still sticks, so 50 50 split here. If you like the cooler temperatures, today the day for you, unfortunately like i said that humidity is still going to be high. Now we got to 93 degrees yesterday. That was our fifth day in a row of 90 degrees or more temperatures. It has been hot. It has been humid. And yesterday was no different we were back up above our average of 87. Good news cooler today, little more seasonable for us. So, it is quick break from the 90s on our sunday. Now, we had some severe thunderstorms did roll through , in the evening hours, yesterday. It looks like another threat for Severe Weather today. It will come more in the overnight hours, and into monday morning, so the timing of that really not all that great. We never like to see those strong storms come through at night. But, the good news for us, after all of those thunderstorms do come through, weaver some relief from the heat, and the humidity, sooner rather than later, that is our good news. Today is our first again quick break from the 90s, we get to 86 degrees this afternoon, mostly cloudy skies, it should actually remain relatively dry but the stickiness factor, that sticky humidity, continues to just sit over top of us, so even though our temperatures will be 86, it probably is going to be feeling like it is closer to about 90 degrees, once again. Last couple of hours, see, dont have much going on on storm scan3, satellite and radar, few light showers out there, but thats really about it. There is this big stationary front thats kind of just parked right over central pa. Area of low pressure out there , eastern great lakes, as well, we will see that low kind of dip to the south. And maybe even move little bit eastwards. As it does, the front will move slightly further south, as well, but still generally sits right over top of us. Fires up, thunderstorms as we go through the later part of today. So here is ourself ear threat. It is a slight risk, everywhere in the green, thats marginal, so some areas of bucks county back up into the poconos in the marginal risk. But despite philly, back toward reading, lancaster county, second range of our five level of Severe Weather. Our future weather for us, see , our temperature or excuse me our conditions really not all that bad this afternoon. Relatively dry. Mostly cloudy skies, as we get through the nighttime hours tonight, 10 00, 11 00 we start to watch thunderstorms come together off to our west. And then, as the time that we get into tomorrow morning becomes 4 30, 5 00 in the morning, just in time for Eyewitness News to be starting tomorrow morning, thunderstorms right outside the philadelphia area. They push through, as we continue through the morning hours, by late morning, early afternoon, though, shower, thunderstorm activity actually probably off the coastline, just few stray showers, maybe few isolated rumbles every thunder for us than monday afternoon. Eightysix today, as i said for the the high temperature, back to the 90s monday, but then, that front, that i was talking about, sitting over top of central pa, well that completely moves southwards as we get into tuesday, wednesday , much lower humidity , tuesday high of 85. And really nice day wednesday, jan, high of 83. Back to the 80s, 90s, by the ends of the week. Looking forwards to tuesday wednesday. Absolutely. Thank you, matt. Now 7 19. Time to check traffic. Good morning, today is sunday, july, if im jan carabeo. Matt peterson on the sky beck with eyewitness weather. Hey, matt. Good morning, jan, the biggest thing that you notice when you step out here on the skydeck or step out your front door, is just another incredibly sticky, humid, soup y, however you want to describe it, morning across the delaware valley. While temperatures, yes, are going to be a little bit cooler, and really actually isnt even as warm this morning, as it was yesterday, it is still incredibly sticky outside. This is what it looks like with our dew points, they remain in the 70s, thats not changed, and it has been very, very humid, for really the last about week or so. And today is no exception to that. We will remain in the 70s here this morning, with these dew points, and they actually may be dip a degree or two, but still going to be in the oppressive range of humidity all the way through the afternoon, so, dont expect a change in that for our sunday. Where we will see the changes are the temperatures, cloud cover, going to be hanging around, for majority of our sunday, and thats going to, again, limit the sunshine, so that will limit our heating, which means that temperatures that are in the 70s, right now , wont be rising as quickly as they have been the last couple of afternoon noon. So sitting at 77 degrees right now here in philly. Seventeen in reading. Seventyfive down toward millville. And again, these temperatures are going to rise, but just not as quickly as they have been. As we head down toward the shore points this morning, we have little bit of a lands breeze going on, that usually keeps our temperatures little bit warmer to start the day out. So, cape may, actually, coming in 79 degrees here this morning, stone harbor at 75, ocean city, starting the day at 77. And again, thats going to, if we continue with the lands breeze, which looks like we should, we will keep our temperatures little maybe warmer at the shore than where we get in some other spots. Storm scan3 for the most part quiet. We do have the cloud cover out there. Few very, very light showers were out there earlier, just about an hour or so ago. Those have all faded away, and it will be a dry morning for us. Even into most of the afternoon, as well, we will see high temperatures today right around 86 degrees. Showers, thunderstorms, for us , as we go through the nighttime hours tonight, jan, some could be strong to severe , and break down the chances when i come back inside. Matt, thank you. So much drier air, going to be settled if for tuesday, wednesday. Thunderstorms, though, are going to come back in the second haft of the week, fueled by what it should be more humid air. Carol erickson here, and she introduces us to this weeks adoptable pet. So i want my glasses my girlfriend loves artists. Welcome back with carol erickson, joining us today is tiny but hes mighty cute. He will not stay tiny. Give him five minutes. This is massive puppy. Hes only three month olds. I would say he probably is weighing in at about 30 pounds easily right now, but he will get to be over 100pound. We will talk more about this baby, if you hear a yelp or two, that will be from me, hes got his, no, it is me, hes got some baby teeth in there. And thats a puppy. What we want to talk about today, is, you know, a lot of people just bribe their animals in kind of awful ways. And these are what the Tufts University vet school calls words that wounds. And i totally agree. If you ascribe a certain characteristic, same thing with human relationships, and you call somebody oh, theyre always a jerk, or that dog is vindictive, you start treating them in that way. And that can lead to the abuse of the animal. So it is a kind of thing where you really have to watch what you say. Youre often going to be looking for something to reinforce that kind of behavior. Becomes selffullfilling . Absolutely, like oh, my dog is vindictive. Well well, dogs do not operate in that kind of a world. They are not vindictive. You know what they are . Theyre anxious. So when you leave the house, and you come back, and you find that theyve gone to the bathroom in the house or something is torn up, that is they have few ways to relieve their anxiety, they cant do anything constructive , they cant turn on the tv or go for a walk themselves. So what they end up doing, they may destroy some of your things. So, if you start to understanded the motivation, and stop putting kind of negative words around that, describing their motive, that they just dont have. And when you punish a dog that has gone to the bathroom in your house, you literally have punished them for feeling lonely and anxious. Soso do you have really watch what you are doing. And i think when you start to think about their behavior, in different ways, and think, you know, how can i more con stuck tiffly step up their world so that these kinds of things arent happening. There are other words that they use, like dominance, thats a big one, with a lot of the popular tv trainers, but thats not really something that you will be finding out in the real dog scenarios, what they are looking for is because it is a fluid kinds of things with do, the same dog oh, you can eat that but im sleeping there. It changes. It moves. And i think people really need to be the credible leader for their pets, but in a way that is just kind of saying hey, heres how we do it, and in a calm way going there, and stop saying my dog is trying to be dominant, because that can also lead to a the love harsh behavior toward that dog. If you start thinking that that dog is trying to get one up on you, which they often arent. And it is not guilt that your dogs feel. When you come back home and go my dog looks guilty. You agree that is . Thats fear, because theyve seen you once before come in and go what have you done here , and so now theyre worried. It is not guilty. And it may, you know what it is, theyve gone to the bathroom in the house, they dont over put together that that is what did it, they go oh, they dont like urine, and you could, you know, drop some other pets urine, and theyre going to be afraid, because theyre just worried about that casino every thing. So think of all of that, as we take a look at some of our not just this adoptable baby but some of the others that we have today. This is a great cat. Sunflower, ten year old female , domestic short haired cat, loverly cat, loves attention, and she will let you know when shes had enough august i three year old male domestic short haired cat, lover the marking, shy at first but super friendly, and so handsome. If you are looking for big old teddy bear to snuggle with, cody is the girl, as sweet as she can possibly, possibly be. So just watch that. Tiny, this dog will be over 100 pounds. The massive breed loves a lot of activity, lovers to be in a big space, this is a great dog for the country, for the suburbs, tiny is a lovely, loverly animal. And never call your animal stupid. Because your dog could just as easily say youre stupid for not being able to pick up a scent. How true is that . This dog will be found one already.
