Reporter on the second floor is where investigators say 63yearold raymond wychowanic, visiting his wife, spent 45 minutes before pulling the trigger killing her. Sources tell nbc 10, the woman was not suffering a terminal illness. Its not clear if she filed for a restraining order. Are you looking into that . Yes. Reporter he was airlifted to a trauma center. But police found another victim dead inside their home. Upon arrival, the detectives discovered another individual with gun shot wounds. That individual has been pronounced. Im not going to release that name. But, again, were trying to determine, figure out how that ties in to what happened here. Reporter the family has lived there 20 years and the son is in his 30s. Weirded out. Im next door and some guy just murdered his wife. Reporter police here just a few minutes ago who were carrying out a search warrant wrapped up their investigation, took down the crime scene tape just within the last half hour or so. Police do tell us that the person who was discovered here, its not clear at this point whether or not they were victimized or killed or whether or not this may have been a selfinflicted gun shot wound. Police did recover a gun at the room. They tell us they will do tests on that gun to determine if it is linked to this house here. In the meantime, raymond was airlifted to Cooper Medical Center where he is suffering lifethreatening gun shot wounds. Stratford hospital has resumed to normal operations. Live in glendora, im cydney long, nbc 10 news. A lot of questions. Kidnapped and thrown into the Schuylkill River. Police are investigating after pulling two bodies from the river, a third man got out of the water still bound and bleeding. A lone survivor says he was abducted by four to five men, tied up, stabbed and dumped in the river. He managed to get out alive. The bodies of two others were pulled from the water. Doug shimell just got an update from police. He is joining us live with the latest information. Reporter police say the survivor originally claimed he was taken from the intersection in southwest philadelphia and thrown into a van with two strangers who were bound and stabbed but then detickives say the survivors story started to change. Officers patrolling along the Schuylkill River early wednesday morning were stunned. Observed a 23yearold male. He was walking in his under wear with his hands and feet bound. He was bleeping from multiple stab wounds. Reporter police say he told them he was the only survivor of a brutal attack. He told officers that himself and two of his friends were abducted, were stabbed, their hands and feed were bound, they were placed into the back of some type of automobile or van. Reporter detectives say two of the three men, all of asian dissent were weighted down. Those two did not survive. The third was able to swim to shore. All three of the individuals were targeted. Through our investigation, we believe its some kind of drug next us at the crux of this double homicide. Reporter investigators say the survivor under went surgery at Hahnemann Hospital today. He is in critical condition. He does have a criminal record and he may have known his alleged attackers. Theres a Northern Liberties connection to the case. The victims mother took the witness stand and glared at christina regusters. The mother told the jury as soon as she saw the video, she knew it couldnt be anyone who normally wore muslim garb. She said it was on wrong. She dabbed her eyes and so did jurors as she described seeing her daughter for the first time after she had been missing for 18 hours back in january 2013. Sky force 10 over a deadly crash involving a pedestrian in wilmington this morning. This halved shortly after 8 00. It shut down traffic there. Police say the 29yearold woman was in the crosswalk trying to cross the street when she was hit. They believe she hadnt realized the light turned green. Police dont expect to file charges. To a deadly accident at an arizona shooting range thats raising questions today in the debate over guns. It involves a 9yearold girl and an uzi. We want to warn you, the video was taken shortly before that instructor died. He was trying to teach the little girl how to use the gun. The kick back was too much for her to handle. She lost control of the weapon and then accidentally killed the man. The ranges website lists the minimum age as 8. The girls parents were there. Many question as to why a 9yearold needs to handle a fully automatic weapon. Another one of these decisions where guns we treat guns differently than Everything Else in this country. We refuse to acknowledge these are dangerous items. This incident is extremely unusual. I have been at this now for 40 years. I have never heard of any of this happening. No charges will be filed. We did research to find the laws concerning children being allowed at shooting ranges in our area. In pennsylvania, anyone under 16 must be accompanied by someone 18 or older. In new jersey, a child under 18 is permitted to shoot at a competition or target practice if supervised by an adult who has a permit to carry. Delaware allows children to possess a handgun in sporting or Recreational Activities while under accept visisupervision of. City council volted to suspend consideration of an ordinance. They suggested the election board place it on the ballot in november. They are fighting for workers to earn o of sick pay for every 30 hours of work. About 100 people showed up for the first meeting of the delaware low wage Worker Task Force in wilmington. We are seeing police focusing on one parking lot in particular. As we zoom in closer here, you can see the crime scene tape set up blocking off all of this area. In that parking lot we saw in the past ten minutes crews focusing on this suv, one body was removed from here. You just walked out of the courtroom. Tell us what happened. Reporter a very cute, composed little girl in bright colored clothes, 7 years old took the stand. Mostly she answered questions with yes or no. Sometimes she said, i dont know when clearly she felt uncomfortable. For the first time, we heard directly from the little girl why she left her school with a stranger who was dressed in muslim garb in january of 2013 she left her school, bryant elementary. The prosecutor sat next to the 7yearold directing her toward the jury away from christina regusters, the woman charged with raining and kidnapping the child rarely looked at the girl. The prot ksecutor asked her, di you know the lady . No, i thought it was my mom. She told the jury, the lady threw her book bag in the trash. She said when they got to the house, the lady told her to get under the bed. She believed there was a boy in the house. Asked, did you ever see a boy in the house . She said, no. Did you ever smell a boy . No. Did you ever feel a boy . No. How do you know there was a boy . She said, the lady told her there was a deaf boy in the house and showed her a picture on a cell phone. She did say she was blindfolded. Asked, did anything bad happen to you . And the little girl said, i dont remember. You have to also remember, shes now 7 years old. Its been a year and a half since this incident happened. We heard more details actually from the little girl on an audio recording today that was played for the jury between the mother and the daughter. Im working on that story for you for 6 00. All of this debris that you see here in the middle of your screen is whats left from the plane. Once the plane crashed, were told it caught fire. One person was taken to the hospital. But we dont know that persons condition. Out here, you can see there are still fire crews, a police crew. They have the area blocked off. It looks like it was a small plane and the fire is out. Two men posing as police stole 100,000 from a Food Distribution center overnight. Happened around 2 15 this morning at kawa foods. Authorities say the two criminals knocked on the door, posed as cops. Both were wearing hats with the word police on the front. The Armed Robbers forced their way inside to a side room and got them to open the safe. They took the cash. Because of its remote location, investigators believe this could have been an inside job. Its very convoluted back here. Theres a possibility that somebody knew where they were going and knew where the money was inside this property. Police say the two suspects drove away from the scene in a darkcolored suv, possibly a trailblazer. Measles, mumps and meningitis. There has been an increase in college campuses. A Drexel University student died and there was an outbreak at princeton as well. His parents met with Israeli Police today as friends and family in new jersey continue to pray for his safe return. 23yearold aron sofer disappeared friday. Residents are trying to raise money to pay for the search. Ted greenberg spoke with sofers father in israel today. Reporter another day of searching has ended with no sign of aaron sofer. His family refuses to give up hope. Very emotionally draining. Really affected us all. Reporter at the school why aaron sofer studied, this first day back after Summer Vacation began with an appeal to god asking for the missing 23yearold to be found. Deeply immersed in prayer. We wish for his safe return. Reporter a massive search continued today in the Jerusalem Forest where sofer disappeared while hiking on friday. This as his parents and a brother were updated by the head of the local Police District on the status of that search which so far has turned up no sign. It has been five days since aaron is missing. But we believe he is still alive and out there. Reporter there are fears sofer was abducted. His father spoke with me by phone. We are extremely worried. Reporter the Charitable Organization hessed is raising money to pay for the search efforts, including the costs needed to bus volunteers to the scene. Launched yesterday, an online donation drive has raised more than 13,000. We all know the family. We know this is something thats in need of finances and assistance to continue with this search. Reporter we are told theres been an outpouring of assistance from local therapists who are volunteering to help members of the family cope with the emotional toll of their loved ones disappearance. Back in march, a student at Drexel University died of a rare strain of type b meningitis. Thats the same strain that left eight people sick at princeton last year. A doctor has the Health Warning that every family needs to hear. Mumps, meningitis andmeasles in years. It spreads quickly, especially the meningitis, measles, mumps. These are diseases that can spread well in college populations. The doctor is an expert in preventative medicine. She says many of the diseases with making a comeback and College Students face extra risks. They may be more at risk. They are stressed up. They are living in dorms or crowded rental housing. One kid gets sick, the whole dorm is sick. The freshman class is sick. Its awful. Global travel and falling vaccination rates are driving the increase in some of the diseases. We can actually give a vaccine that covers both measles, mumps andr rubella. Students should have received two doses of that was in childhood. Some missed the second dose. The booster are strongly recommended for College Students. No vaccine is 100 effective. We know that. But we do know that if we can get a large number of people protected with vaccine, we will be less likely to have outbreaks. Dont want to get sick, especially when im studies and when i have school.
