I hope i didnt jinx things. Katy zachry is in with a look at the clear and cold roads. Chris, i hope you didnt jinx things either, because for the last hour, things have been looking great on the area roads. Well start off with a live look at 676, vine street expressway right at broad street. The expanse of the vine looks great. 76 looks good as well. For drivers in delaware county, springfield township, providence road between Baltimore Pike and bishop road, there is some construction there for you to be aware of. And as we zoom out and take a look at your average speeds on the area roads, route 1 is in the 50s, 95 south of philadelphia, youre in the mid50s. And the 42 freeway is in the mid50s as well. And we take a live look at the 42 freeway right at creek road. This is in belmar, where you can see by evidence of all the headligh headlights, traffic is picking up as it heads northbound to the area bridges and philadelphia. When i see you in a bit, well take a look at delaware roads. It is 5 02. New from overnight, police in Montgomery County are investigating a crash after an suv slammed into a utility pole. This happened on haverford road near andover road, lower merion. Officers say the driver lost control of the suv, hit the pole, which as you see there snapped. The driver was not hurt. Now to decision 2014. There are just about 24 hours to go before voters head to the polls in pennsylvania, new jersey and delaware and across the country. The biggest race were watching is the battle for pennsylvania governor. Governor tom corbett will be campaigning in west chester today. His democratic challenger, tom wolf, is crisscrossing the commonwealth. Stops in lancaster and pittsburgh. Nbc 10s jesse gary joins us now live in studio. If these polls hold true and tom wolf wins, will we see an immediate change . Well, campaigning one thing, governing completely different. Tom wolf, if elected, will have to show he can do more than take shots on corbett. He has campaigned on increasing funding for education, things that resonate in the philadelphia region, but to have success in harrisburg, hell have to work with a legislature that could be divided or in the hands of the republicans. I think a lot of its going to depend on how much tom wolf is willing to go from the Governors Office down to offices in the capitol of leadership in both parties to talk about how they can advance a shared agenda. Of course, the election is not over. Weve been talking a lot about pennsylvania this first half hour. Im also researching and digging into races over in new jersey. A very big race. Ill have that for you coming up in the next 30 minutes, guys. All right, jesse, thanks. Of course, in that final push for undecided voters over the weekend, the candidates for governor had some big names campaigning alongside them. Governor corbett was joined by new Jersey Governor Chris Christie at a rally in ivyland, bucks county. Corbett has been trailing wolf by double digits in most of the polls. Governor christie, though, called his keystone state counterpart a tough competitor. All right, pennsylvania. Hes a tough competitor. Hes made taxes even lower in pennsylvania. Hes made regulation even lower in pennsylvania. Hes stolen more jobs from new jersey while hes been governor. Now, governor christie has made at least four visits to pennsylvania recently in support of corbett. Meanmeantime, thousands cam a tom wolf rally at temple university, including president obama. He touted wolfs experience as a businessman, saying he will handle the economy better than corbett. He knows how to create jobs here in pennsylvania. Hes done it. And now hes running because he believes that if you work hard in this state, if you work hard in this country, you should share in the countrys success. If wolf beats corbett tomorrow, it will be the first time a pennsylvania governor lost reelection since 1970. Meantime, the president s trip out of philadelphia hit a bit of a snag last night. There was a minor mechanical problem with air force one, so he and his group had to be transferred to a backup plane. You can count on nbc 10 for early returns, reaction and live reports. Joining us starting at 8 00 tomorrow evening. Nbc 10s keith jones will be covering the Corbett Campaign in pittsburgh. Lu ann cahn will be in york with the wolf campaign.
