Shootings in one morning and one of them claimed the live of a 16yearold student you see here, and they are questioning persons of interest and his killer is still on the loose. His family gathered on their porch, too emotional to speak about his murder. I feel for his family and i feel for my friend, and we are going to the house now, because we cant get over it and that was her best friend. The 16yearold known as a nice kid who played on the football team. He was a good boy. Very nice. Police say there was an argument and the 10th grader ended upshot. It was the first of separate four shootings in the course of five hours. Today happens to be gun violence awareness day, and Delaware County set up the memorial with names of the victims and tonights event went on with Great Sadness because they will have to add another tshirt with the name of another victim. The Program Began with a moment of silence. And the whole community is hurting. The family is hurting. Healing, the mayor says, wont come until they get guns out of the wrong hands. People across our area took part in National Gun Violence awareness day, and philadelphia leaders held a prayer rally outside city hall. Neighbors brought pictures of loved ones lost to gun violence, and officers handed out free gun locks. The board of trustees announced its taking over the system after the death of a student. Nbc10s, brandon hudson, has more on the new changes. The board of trustees did not vote to band the greek life system but they believe the changes are necessary. So far the plans are not going over well with the family of piazza. The University Board of trustees had a list of change, zero tall kwrupbs for hazing, and restrictions at social events like no hard liquor, and more spot checks at greek houses and a student fee for joining greek houses. We are not going to tolerate this kind of hazing and alcohol. After the announcement, nbc10 spoke to attorney, tom klein, and he called the initiatives lacking. What the family is looking for is change, and that change involves concrete actions that are taken. Prosecutors say the 19yearold piazza died after he had a alcohol limit over the legal limb, and 18 Fraternity Brothers face charges including hazing and involuntary manslaughter. His parents sent penn state a thursday asking the school to fire administrators tied to their sons death. Time is precious. We dont want to see the next child die. The board of trustees say they plan to support legislation for stronger penalties against hazing. Nbc10 news. Another big story we are following at penn state, the universitys former president and two former administrators are getting time in jail for their role in the sandusky scandal. Former Vice President , geary schultz and curly pleaded guilty to the same charges. One said he saw sandusky molesting a boy in a shower in 2001. Sandusky is serving a 30 to 60year sentence. The search is on tonight for the man that sexually assaulted a woman in Atlantic City. Take a look at this sketch of the suspect. Police say on tuesday the man held a 23yearold woman at knifepoint on pennsylvania avenue and assaulted her. If you know who this man is call Atlantic City police. The trial of a bucks county man accused of abusing six sisters came to an abrupt today. The victims were given to kaplan as gifts from their parents, and they heard a recording of the girls mother telling them to tell the truth, the defense says the girls mother just wanted a plea deal. Clear from my perspective that there was an influence from the das office on those girls, and as many times as they can tell you they told them just to tell the truth, that was said with a wink. They did an amazing job and i hope we can get justice for them. The case will go to the jury monday. A new report on the delaware prison up rising suggests a lot of changes need to be made at that facility. Prisoners took over the c building at the Correctional Center on february 1st. A new report shows serious staffing and training and Technology Issues at vaughn. Forced over time needs to go down and communication needs to get better. Many of these issues came up in a report in 2005. The Governors Team says changes are now coming. Lieutenant steven floyd was killed in the up ridesising tha lasted more than 20 hours and the final report will be released in august. Tonight a flying tribute to a helicopter pilot that was killed last week in delaware, and more than a dozen choppers did a fly by where murphy was laid to rest.
