The friend advises against morrow doing this. Morrow tells the friend hes okay with doing this, but he wants a plan. That kane is just throwing everything to the wall hoping it will stick. Morrow also painted a picture for the jury telling about a woman becoming increasingly paranoid, telling the jury at one point he was met by kanes driver, ordered into the car and taken to a parking garage and had to give up his cell phone and was checked, he believed, for recording devices. Reporter and we talked to cycling advocates about why drivers perception may not actually be reality. Do you guys buy the idea that cyclists are breaking the rules more than motorists . No. We do not believe that. George spencer joins us right now. George, this story, this investigation really grew organically out of a different one. Its one of those that originated after our first story, and then with the social media discussions that followed it. Back in may, we did this story, a review of bicycle crashes. We looked at specific intersections and roads and spoke to cyclists about their push to crack down on speeding drivers. But viewer responses, and guys, there were a lot of them, asked us to look at how much the cyclists themselves were breaking the rules. And that is what we have done for tonight. The video tells a lot of this story. George, back in the investigators unit, you guys really put a lot of data behind your reporting. For this report, you guys ran your own survey. Right. Part of it is we didnt just want this to be a story about, look at this cyclist running a red light. We wanted a way to quantify it. We set up our own unscientific survey for this story. Watching five different intersections and five different philly neighborhoods. We counted vehicle by vehicle, hundreds of them, cyclists by cyclists. It allowed us to talk about a Bigger Picture in terms of what drivers tell us they are seeing on the streets of philadelphia. In addition to getting both sides of this, too. Yes. Excellent. George, thank you very much. You can see his investigation bicyclist backlash tonight on nbc 10 right after the olympics. We know what that music means.
