happened at this school. i can see it happening almost anywhere. >> definitely kind of traumatic to think someone would do that on our campus. i transferred here. the people i've come across seem normal and kind and respectful. i'm surprised one of our students did this. >> reporter: villa nova university and cardinal o'hara high school have sent e-mails to students as well as the faculty telling them about the arrest and the videos. kane is charged with four felonies including the possession of child pornography. we're live in villa nova, mitch blacher, nbc 10 news. video of the break-in at boyd's in center city. thieves backed a car right into the store and grabbed whatever they could. that heist has store owners on alert. >> nbc 10's denise nakata has new information tonight. >> reporter: jim and jacqueline, this is well planned and all caught on camera. also caught on camera, won't you what see because police have not released it, suspects robbing a homeless man who tried to also steal clothes from boyd's. >> completely insane. >> reporter: that's the reaction from people living and working in center city, taking a look at video of a heist at boyd's on chestnut street for the first time. >> that's is a really bold move. i don't understand. >> reporter: the video shows a red rav4 backing into the store around 4:00 yesterday morning. the first try is not enough for them to get in. so the driver rams into the store one or two times and shattering glass and breaking into the high-end retailer. >> it's a very nice area. the way they did it, not just breaking the door, breaking the whole window. >> reporter: you see the group of six to eight people come out of the rav4 and a silver mercedes benz. they get inside covered in masks and hoodies and get away with $45,000 in designer coats and handbags. >> it can happen anywhere. >> reporter: sources say what you don't see is what happened next. a homeless man who tried to get in on the burglary stole clothes only to be chased down by the thieves who robbed the homeless man of the stolen goods. >> people are crazy. who does that? >> reporter: and tonight that's what police are asking as well. one of the cars made a getaway on chestnut street. the other went through the boyd's parking lot. they say the video was so good, police were able to grab the tags and discover both cars were stolen. live in center city, denise nakano, nbc 10 news. new details in the vandalism at the union league in center city. tonight police say reginald phillips is the man who damaged the staircase. there's more than $100,000 in damages. police say they identified phillips from this surveillance video they released yesterday. the man in the video here walked away with that brass from the railing and the stairs came tumbling down. the railing was sold at a local scrap yard. now to our fairly brisk weather out there. a little chillier than what we're used to. make sure you dig out the umbrella. you'll need it for tomorrow. a storm in the midwest around ohio. that's headed our way. >> nbc 10 first alert meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz here with a look at what we can expect tomorrow. >> most of the rain will be in the evening. right now we have dry conditions, in the 40s in parts of the area and didn't even get into the 50s in some parts and way below normal. here is the first batch of rain already into pennsylvania and michigan. that will come in tomorrow afternoon. freezing rain advisory for the pocono mountains only. that's until 11:00 a.m. as the moisture moves in to the colder air, watch what happens. a few snowflakes in the beginning. the atmosphere overall is too warm for snow accumulation. look at this. 8:00 a.m., 29 degrees in mt. pocono. that is freezing rain or sleet while it's way too warm in allentown and redding and pottstown for any icing problems. there's the rain, and it expands throughout the area as we go into the afternoon. more on that timing and the rest of the weekend coming up. all right, glenn. to the push for pennsylvania and decision 2016. to night democratic vice presidential nominee tim kaine is making his second stop in our region right now. cain is speaking to voters in allentown. here is a live look at that. he's addressing a crowd at mule len berg university. nbc 10's lauren mayk joining us from bucks county; a battleground location. >> reporter: here in bucks county the fight is fierce. as people take sides we found a block not too far from here where you can see it from the streets zblp drive into this neighborhood in bucks county, it's clear why candidates are coming here, politically divided. lawns dotted with signs on both sides. >> biden has been here, now tim kaine is here. donald trump was down the street. >> we met cooper robb wearing an obama-biden sweatshirt from 2008. >> it's sort of ground zero here. >> reporter: the macarthur home has a clinton-kaine sign but a republican lives here. >> i've been a lifelong republican, this year i can't vote for trump. i find him too offensive. >> reporter: down the street, mark has a trump-pence sign. he likes trump is an outsider. >> he's not part of the establishment ait can't be any worse than what we've been experiencing with politicians that you kind of wonder why they're in there. >> reporter: across the road democratic presidential nominee tim kaine tried to whip up support at bucks county community college. >> you can hear how my voice is shot. i've been on this campaign for 95 days. hillary has been on this campaign for darn near two years. she has got the stamina. >> reporter: with two weeks to go, kaine telling supporters not to let up. >> we can't take anything for granted. we can't. >> reporter: looking for support in a battleground state, battleground county and neighborhood. >> do you talk politics in this neighborhood? >> not a whole lot. everybody gets along really well. so if your neighbor has a sign that's different from yours, when the election is over, everybody goes back to being neighbors. >> reporter: that's certainly what you would hope for. president obama won this county the last two elections. but in 2012, it was by less than 2%. live in newtown, lauren mayk, nbc 10 news. hillary clinton continues pushing for votes in florida today on her 69th birthday. the democratic nominee held a raleigh in tampa tonight. it was her second stop of the day in this state as early voting continues. so far 1.6 million floridians have cast their ballots. her main message for everyone was to get out and vote. >> we can't make any of this happen if we don't have you voting. now, donald trump says he can still win, and he's right. that's why it's so important everyone gets out and votes. >> clinton will be campaigning in north carolina tomorrow. donald trump is back on the campaign trail in north carolina tonight. this morning it was all about business for trump opening his new hotel in d.c. he attended the ribbon cutting of a new $212 million hotel that bears his name on pennsylvania avenue, not far from the white house. his campaign says trump's ability to deliver the hotel under budget and ahead of schedule is a demonstration of his can-do spirit. >> a project like this demonstrates what is possible when a team works together for a totally common purpose. >> trump was criticized for taking time out of hips campaign schedule for the opening but he said he wanted to be there for his family. 13 days until election day. so far 10.5 million people have already voted in this year's election. tonight septa is warning riders about what to expect if its employees go on strike november 1st: septa's contract with the workers union is set to expire monday. if a strike happens, regional rail would be the only septa service running in the city. no city buses, trolleys or subways would be operating. suburban service will not be largely impacted. the north town high speed line will still run and so will suburban buses and trolleys. if you use septa, check out the entire contingency plan for tuesday on the nbc 10 app. new at 6:00, a center that celebrates jewish culture opened its doors at drexel university in philadelphia. nbc 10 at the ribbon cutting ceremony. the facility will host services along with jewish education programs. officials hope the center will become a meeting place for jewish students. next at 6:00, is a local mansion haunted? it's about to get national attention. nbc 10's tim furlong takes us for a tour to see the paranormal activity for ourselves. fans have waited years to actually see him play. tonight that wait is over. we're live for the 6ers season opener. glenn. >> trust the process. i'm tracking the rain for your thursday. it's getting closer. you're not necessarily going to need an umbrella early in the day. i'll have the timing for your neighborhood next. hey, don't shoot the messenger, but that other messenger? >> reporter: phillip hasn't seen the episode but he knows what he and his team experience and what guests often see in the rooms and stairways of this house. >> the mansion has been offering ghost tours, they have a kid friendly version, a late night version, an overnight version. that's where some guests say they've seen and felt some of the freakiest stuff. >> reporter: phillip alerts the ghost when he's coming into the room. he promises it's not a publicity stunt. he says from strange things in photos, rocking chairs moving on their own, there's freaky stuff happening here. he's curious to see if the ghost hunters saw it, too. in will mention ton, tim furlong, nbc 10 news. >> i don't know. let's talk about real science as glenn puts it in terms of weather. >> that's right. we have moisture moving in. as moisture moves in to cold air, sometimes you can get freezing rain or sleet. that is a possibility in the poconos later tonight and tomorrow morning. we're starting to see some of the higher clouds come across the area. temperatures are still dropping, 46 degrees in much of the lehigh valley. a freezing rain advisory until 11:00 a.m. just for the pocono mountains as you see the temperatures are going to be lower there. here is some of the precipitation coming in already northwest of pennsylvania and a little snow in portions of michigan, the other area just past chicago. now take a look at the temperatures. hour-by-hour, by 4:00 a.m., could be a few snowflakes at the beginning. i don't expect any kind of snow accumulation in the poconos. the atmosphere is going to be warming up overall. that means snow would change over for sleet and freezing rain. temperatures below freezing. so there could be some slippery spots first thing. as we go later in the morning, it warms up a little bit there. there's no threat of any kind of icing or snow. allentown, redding, doylestown, pottstown. look how much warmer it is. you go farther to the south. 33 in mt. pocono, 60 in cape may at the same time. in the afternoon now the rain becomes widespread. it's warping up. temperatures in the upper 50s and 60s in parts of the area. how about this? 8:00 could be thunderstorms moving through the area in the evening. that's when the heaviest rain should be. it also might be when the highest temperatures of the day are coming. what about the weekend? we won't get anything like that. saturday looks to be a nice sunny day, pretty mild for this time ofier, near 70 in philadelphia. 60 in the lehigh valley. nice temperature contrast there. sunday drops a little cooler, a little cloudy, a chance of a few showers. not any kind of washout or anything like that. i don't have any rain at the jersey shore in delaware. then halloween, cooler but sunny. it's going to be on the cool side monday night. as we go to the 10-day forecast, there's the rain tomorrow. the 60-degree temperature may occur late in the day and into the evening hours. it will be chilly in the morning. friday, lots of sunshine. saturday, lots of sunshine. there's just a chance of some showers on sunday. i want to emphasize that. i want to emphasize dry sunny weather for hall lean day. and then the temperature goes up. tuesday and wednesday, up near 70 degrees. the average highs only 63 for this time of the year. so it's going to be mild for a good bit of next week until the end of the week and next weekend when we have the next chance for rain. i'm courtside at the wells fargo center where the 6ers are set to unveil corner stones of their franchise at the opener against the oklahoma city thunder. we'll hear from joelle embiid next in sports. pat toomey and donald trump: they're just wrong for the women of pennsylvania.
