A lot of people will be out on their lunch break headed to the mall. This is where we have the problem. I95 northbound just north of where it hits up with route 1 in the Christiana Mall area. This is a route a lot of people take to the mall and its an accident that happened not long ago. When it initially happened there were four lanes blocked. The good news is, things seem to be resolving themselves at a pretty rapid pace because right now there are two lanes blocked but if you want to stay away you can take route 37 around this mess. Well let you know when it clears. Vai . Authorities have charged two people with aggravated assault following a latenight stabbing in center city. The victim remains in critical condition. Pla police say the 44yearold man was attacked outside the Convention Center just before 11 00. Police say they found a fiveinch folding knife at the scene and they took a box cutter from one of the suspects. Police are pulling video from surveillance cameras in the area to determine what led up to that stabbing. This morning, investigators are trying to figure out what sparked a fire at this row home in philadelphias olney neighborhood. The blaze started around 3 30 at fifth and rockland. The fire chief says the home was vacant so no one was hurt. Crews are now assessing the damage to that building. Firefighters in camden were busy battling heavy smoke and flames inside this row home on north chesapeake row. This started in the basement. Every made it out safely. The American Red Cross is providing the family with temporary housing and investigators are determining what caused that fire. Also in camden, Police Searching for the gunman who shot a man overnight. The shooting happened around midnight around carl miller boulevard. Police found multiple bullet casings you see there marked on the street. The victim is in the hospital. His condition is not available right now. And weve learned about a second case of swastikas appearing at a dormitory in rowan university. We told you about the first incident back on december 3. The markings were carved into wooden doors at the dorm. In the newest incident, swastikas were found on the sides of a stairwell on december 11. So far, there are no arrests. The university issued a statement saying it will not stand for intolerance. The schools Jewish Student Center is planning to two events in the spring to foster awareness and pride in their heritage. Parents who rely on a philadelphia Day Care Center to care for their children had to find someone else to care for their kids today. The center is closed indefinitely. The state issued an order yesterday that closed sisters child care on germantown avenue in north philadelphia. A tenmonthold died after being found unresponsive at the day care wednesday. Detectives are calling the babys death suspicious but not have not ruled out the possibility of a medical condition. The day care had a provisional certificate of compliance after state inspectors found issues. Sisters child care has since taken care of some of the problems and the state accepted the facilitys plan to address lingering concerns. You can check your childs day care records. We posted a link explaining how to do that on our nbc 10 app. Happening now, jury deliberations continue for a third day in the case of a woman accused in a beating of a gay couple in center city. Jurors are trying to if Cathryn Knott was one of the people involved in the assault on two men back in september of 2014 and if she engaged in a conspiracy with two others who have pled guilty and are serving probation in the crimes. Convict eed cop killer Mumi Abu Jamal got a chance to testify about his health care. He has hepatitisc and alleges he was denied care. The former death row inmate is serving a life sentence for the 1981 murder of Philadelphia Police officer daniel faulkner. Delaware state police say a trooper shot and wounded a suspect who refused to drop a gun. The trooper was confronted by the man while he was responding to a report of a robbery at a home on salem church road in newark last night. The suspect in serious but stable condition. A second suspect in the home was arre arrested. A third is on the loose. The trooper is on administrative leave while the shooting is being investigated. And new Jersey State Police are mourning the loss of one of their own this morning after a trooper died in a car crash. Trooper eli mccarson was killed yesterday in an accident in quinton township, salem county. Investigators say he was responding to a domestic dispute when his cruiser went off the road and smashed into a utility pole. Rescue crews cut mccarson out of the car. He died at the hospital. Witnesses tell us the cruiser was badly damaged. They tried to get him out but the door was, like, really stuck. It was really hard to get him out of the car. Reporter mccarson was recently married and lived in gloucester county. He just graduated from the State Police Academy earlier this year. The debate on Pension Changes in the pennsylvania statehouse is scheduled to resume today. The republican florida leader stopped the session yesterday so lawmakers could study a new report on the changes. A house Spokesman Says the debate will begin again after they reviewed the report. The pension bill would restructure benefits from newly hired teachers and state workers. The bill is being debated along with the state budget now nearly six months overdue. But that battle could soon be over. Just a short time ago, the republican floor leader of the house said plans to bring up a vote on a tax increase to end the impasse. That vote is expected to happen. If it passes, a vote on the main budget bill could follow. Meanwhile, just within the last two hours, the house passed a 1. 1 trillion spending bill that will fund the federal government through next september. Now the senate is debating that bill. Senate lors vote on the measure in combination with the year end tax plan that gives breaks to working families. President obama has promised to sign the spending plan. Theyre real. Its going to be a chilly weekend. Its going to be a dry weekend and by next week the temperature is shooting up to the point where were going to be getting more warm temperature records. We have cloudy skies right now. There have been some sprinkles around, even a little bit of sleet in parts of the area. 44 degrees, the wind northwest at 13 miles an hour. And weve got a windchill here. 38 degrees and its also 10 degrees colder than this time yesterday so, yeah starting to feel colder. 41 in pottstown, 43 in allentown and mount holly, wilmington also. 41 in glassboro and 43 in millville and dover. Temperature not going up a whole lot partly because of the cloud cover and partly because colder air is coming in. Reporter the blow to Bernie Sanders president ial Campaign Comes on the eve of the next democratic debate and just a few weeks before the iowa caucuses. The Democratic National committee immediately suspending the campaigns access to critical voter information after accusing it of improperly accessing confidential data from Hillary Clintons campaign on wednesday. The Sanders Campaign acknowledged the Security Breach to nbc news and a dnc official says it lasted for a half hour on wednesday and believes at this point four people accessed the information. The Sanders Campaign blaming the Software Vendor for a glitch that temporary allowed access to the information telling nbc news the dnc is relying on an incompetent vendor who on more than one occasion has dropped the firewall between the various Democratic Candidates data. According to the washington post, the vendor called the episode an isolated incident adding by lunchtime it was resolved and the staffer involved has been fired. At this point, the Sanders Campaign is holding just that one person responsible saying that behavior is unacceptable and that staffer was fired. Its unlikely there will be a criminal investigation. It shows a nurse who reused a syringe to give flu shots to dozens of people at a clinic in Mercer County in september made several other mistakes. One of those mistakes . Keeping the vaccine in her personal refrigerator. The cdc also says she only brought enough of the vaccine for 20 people but administered it to 67. The nurse has since sur reverended her license. Meanwhile, a new day in delaware, a law decalizing the use of small amounts of marijuana is in effect across the state. This is what it means if youre of legal age. Youre allowed to possess and use one ounce of marijuana privately without threat of jail time. But you will face a 100 fine. Public consumption is not allowed. The new law doesnt apply to anyone under the age of 18. We have new information about the death of a red panda at the Elmwood Park Zoo in norristown, montgomery county. The 18monthold animal named clinger died late last month and now zoo Officials Say he had a brain disease that was likely caused by a parasite. The red panda was one of fly that arrived last spring. Fiat chrysler is recalling nearly 56,000 Jeep Cherokee suvs. A water leak can cause an electrical short in the vehicless power tailgates, increasing the risk of a fire. Most moisture has moved out but we have the little strip here of some moisture coming across the area, sprinkles, even a little bit of sleet, just a small layer of cold air right above the surface so it wont be any kind of big deal but its the first little sign of the actual winter type weather and its going to feel like winter into tomorrow you can see on the futurecast the general trend is for everything to be moving out during the afternoon and even sunshine by later on. By later this afternoon in the 30s, tonight you headed out youll feel like its 27 in reading by 10 00 and barely 30 in philadelphia. By tomorrow morning, closer to 20 degrees the way its feeling. The trucks are carrying an estimated 250,000 pounds of food which will go to fillab philabundance. Matt delucia is live with more. Reporter you mentioned the Toyota Tundra trucks came into the parking lot. You can see their off loading pallets of food and putting them in the philabundance trucks. These trucks are making their way through. They came from a warehouse where they loaded up these pallets and drove through the city to come down here and do this.
