There was an actual islamic funeral prayer service. More than 16,000 there. People of all faiths, from all walks of life, and from all over the globe. Just drawn to this city and to that event because they wanted to be a part of it. Thats the way muhammad ali wanted this. He laid out with his family long before his death how he wanted things to play out, and he wanted to make sure that everyone was included, that everyone had a chance to be a part of his final goodbye. We know that he was a man who enjoyed the crowd, enjoyed the spotlight. It is on him today as he makes the final tour of the city and then well hear of course this afternoon from so many who were so important to him during his life, including former president billclipten, comedian Billy Crystal and bryant gumbel. Vai, just imagine for a moment you wake up to hear screaming. You look outside, and you see your neighbors house on fire. Then you take a better look. You see someone trapped on the third floor. What would you do . The neighbors who helped rescue that man tell me they reacted. That the victim was able to jump for his life and they were there to catch him. I saw him banging on the front window. Awful, awful. Cara is still shaken by what she saw last night. Just it went up like a tinder box. A neighbor took this cell phone video of the fire, which can be seen shooting through every window in every corner on the lower level of the home. There were three people trapped inside. Two on the second floor and one on the third. I screamed for my kids to call 911. Her sons knew there wasnt much time. The men on the second floor jumped to safety. A third was still trapped. People see him in the second story windows and you know, he jumped onto the landing of the roof. The brothers sprung into action. My brother and i are over there trying to get him out of the second floor. Josephs brother steve told the man to jump and he did, landing right into steves arms, likely saving his life. To see him next to a flaming house catching somebody jumping out of the second story window was a treat. Dennis jefferson knows the men who live here. Once he heard how they escaped, he had to see for himself just what they survived. One guy has broken legs. The guy who was caught is okay, surprisingly enough. All three men were taken to area hospitals. The house, as you can see, is a total loss. It did cause some damage on the house next door. As well. Pam, thank you. Meanwhile, police in springfield Delaware County said a man set fire to his house before committing suicide. Firefighters arrived at the home at East Thompson avenue in granite terrace around 12 30 this morning after putting out the flames, they found the man in a secondfloor bedroom. Police say he had shot himself. Authorities also say there were gallons of accelrnlts throughout the home. Now to a row home fire in philadelphias nice town section. The fire started in one home on north 15th street after 2 30 this morning. Then it spread to the porches of nearby homes. Four people were forced out of their houses. No one was hurt. And Philadelphia Police say a shootout in hunting park left one person dead and another with a gunshot wound through the shoulder. This happed late last night at ninth and luzerne streets. Officers found at least a dozen bullet casings at the scene. They believe the two men who lived nearby were shooting at each other following a dispute. Today, a frankfurt woman is accused of killing her two children is set to appear in court for the first time. Sophia hines faces murder charges after police say she confessed to the crimes. Investigators say they found the bodies of the 8monthold and 3yearold children lying next to each other in a bed. Police said hines used a bed sheet to cover their mouths. This morning walkers and runners on a popular philadelphia trail are worried for their safety after a woman there was attacked. This happened on the Schuylkill River trail yesterday afternoon. Witnesses told police the attacker followed a 24yearold woman on the trail and then upped his steps to walnut street. According to witnesses, he then said you dont know anything, before he cut the woman across the forehead with a sharp object. The woman said she didnt know who attacked her. Police believe this is random. No one deserves to be in this type of situation ever. We just have to be really cautious. Its just terrible. Its broad daylight. Everyone is out here trying to enjoy the Beautiful Day and exercise. This attack follows several snenlts on the trail in the past few months including a sex assault and indecent exposures. They prompted a councilman to form a river trail watch group. Police in ohio have a man in custody after the shooting of a sheriffs deputy led them on a sevenhour manhunt. Officers arrested the 19yearold suspect not far from the complex where the deputy and either person were shot. The deputy was responding to a domestic incident. She was treated and released. Well, when i would be on his show, and i think i was on as much as anybody probably, and he would be interested in what i was doing. I often talked about montana and the ranch life. One day i got a in montana and he was in wyoming. I said what are you doing in wyoming . You said its great and i dont see anything here for me. I said come to montana. Then i told him to go to helena, montana, turn the car north and drive along what is called the Rocky Mountain front. He got to the end of the day, called me and he was in love. He found a big, big ranch up there, big wild country, grizzly bears in the wilderness, and hes become a very good horseman. He bought fishing property as well. He does have that western life, and he is deep into it. We notice you spent time with him on the track. We all recognize his love for the indianapolis 500. He also obviously looks a little different now than we remember him when he was on television. Did you ask him about that beard . Yeah, i did ask him about the beard. I mean, everybody notices. I began by saying whats growing in there . What are you nesting . He said, look, i decided i had shaved at least once a day every day from the time i was 20 until i left the show because i was going to be on television every day. I just got tired of it, so i let the beard grow. He said, nobody in my family likes it, my son calls it creepy. And i just say to him, well, thats dad. Thats who i am. One of the things were doing to expand our programming is to incorporate in a youth programming component were very proud of. So were going to work with young people providing an opportunity for handson training on film making and also a showcase of six films that have been developed and produced and executed by youth, young filmmakers in the region. Whats the buzz on some of the films being featured . Well, tonight we kick off the celebration, our opening night, and well have norman, which is a movie that comes to us from venezuela. The director will be in the house, and one of the key things is that it really touches on the Political Landscape and totally opposite perspectives on a political at a political level, but how people can still connect. We felt it was very timely based on everything that were seeing right now politically in our community. Why is this such a big deal to the Latino Community . Why is this such a big deal . It a space. It creates a space for cultural dialogue, so we definitely want to connect with folks throughout the region and share the diversity and the talent that emerges from latin american countries, but at the same time, we wanton experiences, stories of growth, of resilience, of struggle, that really people can connect and really enjoy. And at the time, see some films that have been showcased in festivals internationally. Were bringing cows wearing sunglasses, our closer tomorrow night. Future weather as we go through the day today, warm and dry. The warm air is going to last especially into tomorrow, mid to upper 80s. By the middle of the day tomorrow, theres a chance we could see showers trying to move through. The best chance is in the afternoon. Theres 4 00 p. M. , showers and storms lining up, possibly through the Lehigh Valley and across trenton, getting closer to philadelphia by about 6 30. There you see the line of showers continuing to move south, and strong thunderstorms we expect thats going to extend to the shore and continuing to slide south through 8 00 p. M. , south jersey still expecting it later tomorrow evening as well, and then into delaware. We clear up later tomorrow night. With the storms i just showed you, theres a good chance some of these could be strong to severe, meaning damaging winds, lightning, heavy rain, and hail. All the areas shaded in yellow, thats basically almost all of new jersey, northern delaware, all of pennsylvania, in our area, that expect those strong storms. Shore forecast as we go through the weekend tomorrow, some late day thunderstorms. If youre in margate, 79 degrees. Rehoboth beach, 82. Sunday is nice and dry and still warm. Around 80 degrees for your shore forecast. Your tenday outlook, today, nice. 80 degrees and dry. Tomorrow, afternoon thunderstorms, strong storms, near 90. By sunday, mid 80s and dry. We go into monday, still in the 80s. Rain chances come back tuesday and wednesday. But look at that. We have a long tenday stretch of 80 degree temperatures across the board. So its going to be warm. Enjoy this weekend, but if you have outdoor plans tomorrow, keep an eye to the sky, especially in the afternoon.
