Reporter tracy and vai, we know from police here at the scene that the person who was shot, the man who was shot near overbrook and lancaster avenue was killed, as you said. Within the hour theyve cleared the scene for the most part. Theyve opened up the intersection but they are Still Holding this menny van that were pushing in on, the door is open. You can see an air bag has been deployed. Theyre Still Holding this as evidence. The shooting here happened around 1 00 this morning near the intersection of 63rd and overbrook avenue or near lancaster avenue. Were being told from investigators that uniformed and nonuniformed officers, also plain clothes officers were part of the shooting and several shots were fired from police and the man was killed. They have notc released his identity yet. Lets go to video from another scene that happened a short time before this. We do know from an earlier police shooting, this one at 53rd and grays avenue in southwest philadelphia that an armed man fired at police from a back porch. Heres how it happened. They approached the male, telling the male to drop the weapon. That male aims and fires one shot at police, fires and misses. One of the officers fires two times back and shoots the male in the leg. That man, again, his identity has not been released. Hes listed in stable condition at a local hospital with a bullet wound to both his leggs. There was also another individual, a man, inside that home who has been taken to southwest detectives for questioning and police are holding that scene in grays ferry. As soon as they get a search warrant, they will go inside the home, search for the weapon and other evidence associated with that shooting. Another update within the hour. An inmate is on the run this morning after he escaped a prison in atlantic county, just 19 days before he was scheduled to be paroled. Arthur buck was missing at bed check yesterday morning at the Ancora Psychiatric Hospital at bayside state prison in hammington. Police officers in three communities canvassed wooded areas, camps and rural neighborhoods near the prison but found no sign of buckle. Its second time an inmate escaped the same psychiatric unit in the past six months. Philadelphia Police Released Surveillance Video of a woman who was able to save herself from being raped. We wanted to know how much business craft beer brings, especially to our area. The Brewers Association tells me some 4,400 jobs in pennsylvania are directly from the breuer riz. A lot of them are at Yards Brewing Company here in philadelphia. He said ten years ago they were just trying to survive. Now theyre on track to expand. Its amazing.
