What other people are dong with their roads, take a look at video from last night in west oak lane, folks taking shovels, coming out the entire neighborhood, clearing the streets in advance for kids going to school today. And for many saying they need to get back to work. The city is saying that the streets are about 80 passable at this point. That does not mean clear. That means passable in the fact that you can drive on them but you may not see blacktop. If you can see the blacktop, this street is one that the city considers to be clear. Christie did con firm he called to apologize to the mayor of north wildwood. He called him crazy during a town hall in New Hampshire on monday. Christie says he just got carried away. Congressman fattahs lawyers he will deal with his defense fund after the april election. The governor advised fattah to reevaluate his priorities. The issue is, i cant meet a payment arrangement that requires me to short change my reelection effort, right, in order to meet a burden to pay a law firm for a trial that may or may not actually take place on may 2nd. Nbc 10 just took a video along bancroft street near tasker in south philadelphia. c the snow is clogging the pavements, leaving cars nowhere to go. If you are driving, slow down and obey stop signs. Heres a look at manayunk. This is umbria and hermitage. The streets are clear, others are just passable. In either case, theres still snow piled up along the curbs and edging up into the crosswalk. Montgomery county, crews spent the night there clearing snow from the roads. In most places theyre focus on moving piles of snow from parking spots and parking lots. This is lower marian township, Montgomery County. Now to the city of allentown. They brought in additional help. The city paid extra private contractors to clear the snow. The workers used front end loaders to get the job done. The blizzard of 2016 set records for snowfall in allentown. And now to wilmington where blizzard cleanup efforts have forced the cancellation of recycling collection this week. The Sanitation Division is helping with plowing and snow removal. Normal trash collection resumes tomorrow for residents east of 95. Residents west of the 95 will have their trash picked up on friday. 6 34 and people in new jersey are reacting to a plan to have the state of new jersey take control of Atlantic City. Reporter more than a dozen residents of Atlantic City last night voiced anger to the mayor and city Council Members urging them not to allow a state takeover of this city. City Council Members say they would not support that. I hope you didnt settle. Because we deserve better than the crumbs weve got. Earlier in the day yesterday, governor Chris Christie announced plans for a possible takeover, saying the state needs to take an aggressive step to turn around the citys finances. He says the only Thing Holding back the city is its government structure along with the debt and cost of its government. The Senate President met with Council Members who believe that the governors announcement gives them a seat at the bargaining table. Still, many people who live here are concerned. My biggest concern with a stay takeover is the fact that well lose power as a community. Thats going to affect our future living here. By having the state take us over, thats basically a dictatorship. They are not of the airy, they do not know whats going on. We take tremendous offense to that. And right here is one of the things that was put here to begin turning Atlantic City around, more stores andc businesses. Later today, volunteers will hit philadelphia streets to try to track homeless youth. 90 volunteers will start at love park and spread across the city for a quarterly count of homeless young people. Policeef6n in delaware are looking for a thief they say is targeting the elderly offering to shovel snow for them. Investigators say these are surveillance pictures of the suspect. Using a stolen credit card at a convenience store. The 76yearold victim said the suspect offered twice to shovel her driveway at her house in wilmington on sunday. The 311 call center is handling an avalanche of questions and requests. 311 agents told us they have answered 24,000 phone calls since friday night. They said thats eight times higher than normal. The 311 center has extended its hours sin the blizzard hit. Agents said theyre also getting thousands of requests through social media. One of the most popular questions is can be can i report a Property Owner for not clearing snow or ice from their sidewalk . 311 ans that question by telling callers Property Owners must clear a path three feet wide of their sidewalk within six hours of a snow emergency. Yes, you can report a violation to 311. The Streets Department will investigate it within one business day. The department can issue violations to Property Owners who havent cleared their sidewalks as required by that city code. You can read all of 311s questions and requests by tapping the nbc 10 app. A mom delivered her own baby in a car in the Lehigh Valley as the blizzard of 2016 was winding down. Mariah bryant told nbc 10 about the unexpected the birth was expected, just not right then of the baby boy. She was on the way to the hospital sunday morning when con tracks starting getting stronger. She pulled over on route 22 and delivered the baby herself. Her friend stood outside the car and called 911. The sense of calmness i felt was completely unrl. I was not panicked at all. I didnt feel pain. It was the easiest labor.
