And the family of that driver trying to understand how she ended up crashing into this building and losing her life. In new castle, an emotional spot for family members of 33yearold la toya cooper. She was my only daughter. I feel so bad because she burned in the fire by herself. I felt something at 2 00 in the morning. I felt some kind of pain. I wonder if maybe it was her. I dont know. She said her daughter died in the overnight crash at the spca. The crash started a fire in the building where 100 animals were housed. When i first got the note fxz, it was terrifying. All of us wering the worst. This is a nightmare when you work with animals. Linda tells us three cats died but most of the others appear to be okay, thanks to quick thinking, First Responders and neighbors. As soon everyone started moving into the mode of saving animals, the neighbors came out and welcomed them into their vehicles, their homes. Help still coming in today from neighbors like lisa moore. I adopted by kitten from here in november. When i saw it this morning, it broke my heart. I wanted to come down and see if i could help in any way i can. Workers boarding up the hole left in the building while the animals housed here seek new homes. And even as the family of la toya cooper is grieving, her mother asking me today whether the animals are okay. Now, that mother says that she will now take care of her daughters five children. Police in Burlington County are investigating a deadly stabbing that happened during a home invasion. Officers responded to hartford road earlier this morning. Police say the situation is contained and theres no reason for the public to be alarmed. Thats what theyre telling us this morning. They also say the investigation is ongoing and theyll release more information later on today. New this morning, the Dunkin Donuts will be closed for repairs after a car crashed right into the building. This is the store in lower providence township. It was closed when the accident happened and no workers were inside. Both the driver and passenger are expected to be okay. Also new this morning, sixers fans are experiencing deja vu after number one overall pick Markelle Fultz suffered an ankle injury. He went down after stepping on another players foot. Fellow players had to help him off the court. The team says doctors have diagnosed him with a an ankle spray. Another player got a bloody lip in the play. Detectives are looking into the incident, but Authorities Say it doesnt appear to be signs of foul play. Family and friends are showing support for a man at the center of an immigration battle. Last night, they held a vigil for jonathan at central presbyterian church. He was detained by immigration officials back in may and he now faced deportation. He came to the country from honduras at the age of 16 and missed a Court Appearance as a teenager. Hiwife, who is a u. S. Its expected to wrap up on july 17th. Not the situation at penn station. Tomorrow gins whats been dubbed the summer of hell for commuters. New Jersey Transit schedules will change to accommodate amtrak repairs there. Some trains will be diverted to and from hoboken, new jersey, so youre not getting into penn station. Riders who get dropped off in hoboken will then have to take another train, a ferry, or bus to get into the city. Other trains will have time changes as well. Sunoco suspended work on the project this week after those residents complained about murky water in their homes. Natural gas pipeline starts in western pennsylvania. It crosses through Chester County ending in delaware county. Construction resumes in exton yesterday. You can see the project is happening in the middle of this neighborhood. Many living here are fighting the project. They want more information about the safety of the work thats going on just feet from their homes. Where their children play. It just takes a matter of seconds or minutes for a leak to happen and something explosive to come in contact with it. Then disaster. As for the murky water concern, sunoco is waiting for test results to find out if there is any contamination. This morning a 2yearold girl is in the hospital after she fell out of a second story window in west philly. Police tell us the mother was in the front bedroom. The child was playing alone in a back bedroom. The girl fell out of an open window. The mother heard her screams and rushed to the room and thats when she discovered the toddler had fallen to the concrete outside. Detectives will look into this, but right now, it doesnt appear as any signs of foul play, but thats for our detectives to look into. Right now, the girl is in stable condition. We have an update on a story we first told you about as breaking news yesterday morning. Philadelphia police are trying to identify the man shot anded and then set on fire near a trash dump. Officers discovered the victim in bridesburg after responding to a report of a fire around 5 00 a. M. Yesterday. Investigators say the man had been shot as many as eight times. The shooter then doused his body in accelerant and set him on fire. Authorities also believe the victim was tied up before he was killed. Reminders of the Opioid Epidemic and its far reach are on display in south philadelphia. These brown and white pompoms are hanging on the stoops of more than 50 houses. They represent anybody who has lost a loved one to heroin. Restaurant owner tony started the brown and White Campaign after his son died from an overdose in march. But because of the higher humidity, the feels like temperatures could be between 95 to 100 degrees. Really going to feel the heat by tuesday. In the suburbs, 84 today, 86 with spotty showers out there. Same forecast for the Lehigh Valley. Spotty showers, isolated storm monday. Tuesday, thunderstorms, and climbing temperatures to near 90 by tuesday. Today, 85 in new jersey. The shore, 81 today. And 86 in delaware. Dry but there you go. Monday, looking at those spot showers rolling in. Especially a little inland. And then by tuesday, all of us with scattered thunderstorms in the forecast. And hotter as well to 92 degrees in new jersey. Lets look at the hour by hour forecast. In the afternoon on monday, here we are, 12 30, there they are, spotty showers rolling through. From about 4 00 to 7 00, these showers will start to thin out and then we go into tuesday. This is starting a wet period. Monday is not the end of it. You just saw on the threeday outlook, more showers picking up by 1 30, and these continue to move throughout the area, even into the nighttime hours of your tuesday. So really that chance of showers, thunderstorms, although not a washout forecast, is going to be in day after day. Heres what were looking at. Higher humidity. Hotter temperatures. Heat indices near 100 degrees. Showers and thunderstorms possible. Those are going to be possible all the way through friday.
