A fire tearing through a luxury skyscraper in dubai. At least 20 floors of the tower engulfed in flames in the same neighborhood where crowds gathered for new years eve fireworks. As firefighters battle the huge flames, dubais new years eve fireworks celebration went on as planned. Dubais new years eve Fireworks Show went as planned at the burj khalifa the worlds tallest skyscraper. Nearby by flames lit up the night sky as smoke spilled from a luxury hotel and residential building called the address downtown. The fire broke out two hours before midnight when the Fireworks Show was set to begin. The area was packed with spectators celebrating and witnesses say the mood quickly changed once the fire started. Playing, and then you saw the flames and everyone was running to kind of get a better view. And then right now, its kind of a sense of silence out there. You dont hear anything. [ nonenglish language ] reporter burning debris was raining down on the streets below as the building was evacuated. People inside said the building was full at the time. The back stairways. They guided us down. Everyone was calm. At first we thought it was a small fire that could be contained but it quickly escalated and were like, we got to get out of here. Reporter the fire quickly engulfed 23 stories of the 6 3 Story Building as people could watch in shock. All of a sudden it started lower than 20th floor probably 7th or 8th. The flames went up quickly the center of the building went all the way up over the 50th floor. Reporter again, just 14 injured. Its not yet clear what caused this fire. Dick . Reporter this afternoon, family and friends of Connor Cummings found comfort with for privacy as they grieve the loss of the 20yearold at his rockaway home. A commotion. Reporter at the Four Seasons Hotel on east 57th street, guests were in disbelief as police responded. It was just after 11 00 wednesday night. The photographer and his 18 yearold friend were on the roof of the 52story hotel taking pictures of the skyline. Investigators say it was raining. Cummings was climbing scaffolding trying to make his way back into the building when he slipped falling 9 stories on to a catwalk. He died at the scene. Police say cummings and his friends were not hotel guest. Sad to hear someone fell off the building. You get these characters from time to time who dont recognize their own physical limitations and they i mean, this is not the first time someone tried to climb a building in new york or elsewhere. So its unfortunate that it ended badly for him. Reporter cummings was a sophomore psychology major at Sigma Phi Fraternity paid tribute to him on facebook saying he had a fiery passion for photography. Connor was someone who would any questions. When you compare it to 38 or 39 average, your still above average. By monday and tuesday well be below average but its going to be a very shortlived time that we spend with the below average temps. If you are in times square for the ball drop or just wherever you are outside at midnight is where you choose to be it will be about 40 degrees with partly cloudy skies. Tomorrow, 45 degrees. So chillier relatively chillier but again i just want to emphasize i dont think i can emphasize it enough, thats still above average by 6 degrees or so and across the board 42 saturday 43 on sunday. Monday and tuesday could be the exceptions. Okay, 38 im forecasting for monday. 37 on tuesday. Look at those morning temperatures. Monday morning 30. Tuesday morning 26. It will be the first time we have been below freezing all season long. Theres a slight chance for a snowflake monday night going doesnt think its going to be a big player. Reporter she has been with southwest for about a decade. She not only calmed the baby, she gave mom and dad a break. It was a moment of peace. We had time to enjoy our lunch a little quiet time and enjoyed watching him going up and down the aisles saying hi to everybody. Reporter they didnt get her name. They posted this message on facebook. Getting more than 15,000 likes. And hundreds of comments praising anissa and other thoughtful Flight Attendants. After he tagged me on facebook hey is this you .
