This morning a lot of commuters will see the brand new subway station for the first time. 32,000 people are expected to come through here today, most during the peak rush hour. This morning thousands will back to the new seven line extension go to and from the west side. Service started on sunday, and commuters cannot wait for a more efficient way to work. I can take this to times square and jump on the one train uptown. Save you time. Absolutely. Reporter this brand new subway station extends seventh line a mile and a half pastimes square. The only subway stop south of 59th street that is west of 9th avenue. It makes it a much quicker commute. Much less, less having to take buses and different transportation. It also provides better access to the newly developed west side neighborhood, that includes the Hudson River Park and the hyaline and before visitors had to walk here or avoid it. It will be fun. And a stop at the subway station is an experience at itself. The ceilings in coverful artwork, and airconditioned platforms and elevators that move diagonally instead of vertically. It will help to boost the economy. It will be a joy to take the first ride and see another great chapter in the city. Police are looking for this man hes making his way behind the counter of a delly in brook deli in brooklyn on monday. Before 10 00, he tried to taking items from behind the counter and the clerk stopped him. The suspect pulled out a pocketknife and tried to slash the clerk before taking off. A Rutgers University wide receiver and team captain has been suspended. The football teams coach is saying that the suspension came after an incident outside of the stadium on saturday night. Six players have been kicked off the team in the past two weeks as the result of arrests. Police are hoping Surveillance Video will help them find a driver who left a woman to die in a the bronx. It cut an hour out of my commute to be honest. 6 00. Reporter this brand new subway station extends the seven line a mile and a half past times square. It is the only subway stop south of 59th street that goes west of 9th avenue. The makes it a much quicker commute. Almost less having to take buses and different transportation. It also provides better access it to newly developed west side neighborhood. Before visitors would have to walk here or take the bus. And many avoided it until now. It will be fun. A stop at the 2. 4 billion hudson yard station is an experience in itself. The ceilings in colorful artwork, and features hair conditioned platforms and elevators that move diagonally. The station will help to boost the local economy in this quickly expanded area. It will be a joy to take the first ride and see another great chapter in the history of the city beginning. It is critical for the hudson yard project thats being developed over the next decade, bringing in hotels, housing, and shopping. Already secret service has said there is one serious threat against the pope that they have thwarted, part of the reason the mayor will hold the round table later today. To the secret service one serious threat against the pope. They are taking all of the measures they can to make sure that his safety is ensured, and the mayor and the Police Commissioner will hold a round table discussion later today to talk about the specifics of his security. They have barricades and checkpoints throughout the city, including closing a mile of Central Park West for 19 hours and a lot of the side streets as well ahead of his procession here on september 25th. Even with all of the security measures in place, lot of lawmakers are very concerned about his safety. Im concerned. I was briefed by the secret service in a classified setting. The pope is a very, im catholic, by the way, he is a very passionate man. He like as it get out with the people. And with that comes a large security risk. New this morning more information on a man stabbed during an altercation in Lower Manhattan. Two men, one of them a World Trade Center Security Guard got into a dispute at a mcdonalds around 4 00 this morning. The moved outside, the 55year old guard pulled a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest and face. The victim called 911. The Security Guard was arrested. Police are saying the victims injuries have not serious. Charges are pending. Power has been fully restored to birth burgeon county residents. The fire delayed trains, forced evacuations and cutoff power to 2,000 customers. Residents reported hearing loud explosions. Started running down the block and everybody came out of the house. This morning thousands are getting a chance to use the brand new subway stop. We have been talking to commuters for the last few hours, it is saving them time. This is the first morning commute at the hudson yard subway station at west 24th street and 11th avenue, and commuters can get to work easier. The seven line is a mile and a half west of times square. The subway station costs 2. 4 billion. It is bright and clean and stateoftheart. It has tiles across the conditioned platforms and elevators that go diagonally instead of vertically. Yes. What do you think . It is great. Cut an hour out of my commute to be honest. I felt it was very clean and very modern. Very spacious compared to a lot of the other stations along the seven line. So a lot of people are very impressed this morning.
