Reporter well, this is a neighborhood of expensive homes and a lot of trees you might see around expensive holes of well, that was taken down in a large pat by this tornado that came through. You can look behind me and see and have been cut up by the crews here are preparing for the cleanup. You look down the road here you see some of those crews who are working right now, working on pot remember lines, many of which were brought down by some of those trees that came down. Lets take you to some video of the damage in the area and pretty incredible. Some within just walked by and said we have footage for your next godzilla movie. That waswhat you had here is a creature, a tornado, ef 1 coming wide, a half mile long into concord. Cutting into trees, throwing them every which way. Thats what told them this was a tornado and not straight winds. The fact that the trees were twisted and the damage went in different directions. It left 1,000 homes without power, resident describing how they woke to the sounds of tree branches coming against their house, the whoosh the wind in the air. Some people wakened by the warning by emergency officials that came through their cell that they had such a warning, but mema Officials Say they knew about it, it went on at 3 00 in the morning, whaled for about 20 seconds on those cell phones was the warning a tornado might be coming. People took cover inside their houses within 15 to 25 minutes, the tornado came through and the damage was apparent. People came outside and they could see all of the trees down and some of those trees are covering roads here as well. Thats what officials are now concentrating on. Branches from the trees in the area, governor baker just toured the area and he came away smiling like the people we talked to who were smiling saying we were incredibly lucky to have this kind of damage and to have only 39 homes damaged, only one of them seriously damaged and no one, no one hurt. Reporter investigators inside a home on Edgewater Place in winchester. The Middlesex District Attorneys Office says an elderly woman was found unresponsive here at around 2 00 p. M. Sunday afternoon. She was pronounced dead. According to neighbors the two people that live in the home are a married couple both in their 70s. They were just lovely, lovely, she was terrific. Im very surprised because they just were very, very pleasant couple that were great neighbors over the years. Police say a 74 yearly woman plowed in i acrowd at an outdoor concert for senior citizens. Nine people hurt and right now two of them still fighting for their lives. More than 100 people were enjoying an Outdoor Community concert sunday night until a split second move turned into tragedy. Police say an elderly driver struck 8 people on this dance floor. It just appears it was an accident. She made a mistake again with the gas and brake. Reporter now police are saying that a could be facing charges. All 8 of the victims were in their 60s and 70s and all were hospitalized including the driver. Two of those victims are still in serious condition. A lot of people knew the victims so it ended abruptly. Reporter the dance floor was set up in a parking lot right next to the citys police and fire departments. Two of its four sides had barricades up which acted as dividers between people and parked cars. But when the diver as pulling out of her parking space she sides. Witnesses say the scene was traumatic. I saw the car start to spin out on the dance floor and bodies flying. Reporter police are calling this an accident and say the driver was pretty shaken up. She is just devastated that she caused these injuries to people she was with at the concert. Reporter police say the driver also hit a telephone pole and another vehicle. Authorities say a 23monthold girl managed to stay afloat in an air pocket until rescue crews found her and four officers and a nearby boater then jumped in to look for more victims. Quickly finding two adults. They searched nearly an hour until they found the little girl trapped beneath the boat. We heard crying so that was joyful to us.
