From abc news, its this week. Here now, chief anchor george stephanopoulos. And we begin with the horrifying news breaking overnight in florida. What appears to be the deadliest terror attack on american soil since 9 11. Around 2 00 a. M. , a gunman exchanged gun fire with police, took hostages at a nightclub in orlando. Three hours later, police s. W. A. T. Teams move in, kill the gunman. Find a scene of carnage. Police believe the gunman acted alone. He was organized and well prepared. Armed with an assault rifle. A handgun. At least one other suspicious device. They believe he traveled to orlando from outside the area. And he may have been motivated by radical ideology. Officials calling this an incident of domestic terror. Lauren list sir on the ground in orlando. Reporter good morning, george. This is where it all happened. Theres still a plins the side streets. Thaw that its cleared, we can see the sign for the nightclub, pulse. Just down a block and half. It was a fun night of dancing. It was latin night. Turned quickly into terror. At around 2 00 a. M. , the gunman went on a shooting rampage. Eyewitnesses describe a scene of terror, chaos. Blo bodies on the ground and blood everywhere. One wince crawled on the ground. When he came out, he said police were tagging bodies based on their injuries. Presumably prioritizing their care. One witness was texting with someone inside the club. He was in the bathroom and said he had been shot. We now know it was a hostage situation. Authorities decided at 5 00 a. M. To rescue the people. Rescuing about 30 people. The 42 injured were taken to area hospitals. One of them is literally at the this is where we saw First Responders overnight rushing. Ambulances dropping people off. This began on lockdown at 2 00 a. M. Some of the hospitals that locked down have been lifted. This is where family and friends who believe they have a loved one that may have been a victim in the nightclub have been told to gather to get any word that they can. Anybody the nightclub is told to go Police Head Quarters and report to them. Want to stay in orlando. Terry decarlo is the executive director of the lgbt center. This pulse nightclub known as one of the largest gay nightclubs in orlando. What more with you tell us that youre learning from the community . Well, you know, we dont really know right now. Were working with the police department. Working with the mayor its a tragic situation. As f members are laying dead on the floor right now. We have another 40 to 4people in the hospital right now. Were doing our best to find out what is going on. Ive been given clearance. Im going to head to the hospital after this to see people there. Theres a lot of traumatized people here right now. We have mobilized our center. Weve thrown up ore doors. We have counsellors heading there right now. This is a tragic situation. Were trying to find out what is going on and wrap our heads around how Something Like this could possibly happen. I know this is early. Well learn a lot more as this goes on. Have you had any indications from anyone inside the club or anyone else you have spoken to that the club was targed because it was a gay nightclub . We dont know that as of yet. We dont know that as of yet. It is an lgbt nightclub. It is one of the largest nightclubs here in orlando. We cannot say it was a specific hit on an lgbt nightclub at the time. It could have been just somebody looking for a packed nightclub and this happened to be the one they picked. We dont know that as of yet. Of course, thats in our mind. Something that will always be in our mind. As soon as the police give us details, well give them out. Okay, terry decarlo. Thank you. Our condolences. We want to bring in pierre thomas. Authorities say theyre treating this as an incident of domestic terror. They believe this gunman acted alone. They had that information some indications that he was motivated by a radical ideology. Thats the early indication. Law enforcement officials checking social media. Looking at his Internet Interactions to see if they can piece together more information. Looks like a l no indications so far to ties to other associatassociates. Right now, every u. S. Law enforcement and Intelligence Agency is checking through their databases to see if they have information on this suspect. They have a name. Theyre working on confirming it. They want to know everything that is possibly can be known about this suspect to see if anything else could be coming in the future. Also, Law Enforcement officials will be concerned about so called copy cats in the coming days. Because people that are unstable could see this and act out. One of the things theyve been definitive about so far, this shopper footage the sufficient in the parking lot, they believe belonging to the gunman, has been gone through with a robotic device. Police say they believe he had a suspicious device in addition to the handgun and other weon come in from outside orlando to carry this out. Exactly. Theyre saying they believe this was well planned. Well executed. Just think about what we saw happen there according to police. Man who goes in, starts shooting people. Engages with police. Then takes hostages. They have to use a bearcat Armored Vehicle to burst through a wall to get in there to engage a suspect and kill him. This was a worst Case Scenario playing out. Lets get more on that from fbi special agent brad garrett. Apparently this thing unfolded over several hours. The first gunfire with police on the scene around 2 00 a. M. The gunman goes inside the club. Holds hostages for up to three hours. Around 5 00 a. M. , the fbi and police go in with the s. W. A. T. Team. Describe how that decision would be made. The real key is no further casualties or injuries top officers or people attdi club. Its about intelligence gathering. For example, did they eventually get cameras, mikes inside the club to see whats going on to assess whats going on before they do an entry . Where there any explosives . The suggestion is, he had maybe some sort of device on him . Were the doors mined in a certain way . You have to eliminate those things before going crashing through the doors. The other thing is maybe he stopped shooting. With no additional gunfire, it guys you time to collect intelligence. Then, for whatever reason, around 5 00 or so, they made a dynamic entry. Killed him. Released 30plus hostages. Officials say they were getting Text Messages from inside the club as well, brad. Correct. That is so key, george. The debrief of victims who escaped the nightclub and those actively still involve d sort of commander to tailor the attack. It buys them time. So you have to pull a lot of moving parts. You have to pull it together quickly. Brad, this is becoming all too xlon. Local police all across the country now prepared for situations like this. A combination of Police Coordination with federal authorities and obviously, Emergency Service personnel as you talked earlier. On gma. The idea that the hospitals are prepared for mass casualties in particular cities is all key. Its unfortunate that we have to have that level of preparation but that is reality. I want to bring in congressman peter king. A member of the House Homeland Security committee. I know this is still unfolding. Have you been able to learn anything more about the shooter, about how this unfolded . Pretty much what im hearing obviously, we heard the fbi agent say theyre considering isis leanings. That has to be the first consideration right now. That doesnt mean thats what it is. I thought it was significant that he said that. Generally, they wouldnt say it unless there was some indication that there was some leaning toward islamic terrorism. It is early. I would think the fbi probably has more information than theyre giving out. I dont blame them for that. If they have his identity, they could be going through social media. Tracking down ayossociatassocia. We are in the time of ramadan. This is when you do fear attacks by isis supporters. Theyre concerned about the european soccer championships in europe. And other events around the world. So, again, this could be part of that or it could be a someone who is antigay. We just dont know. I thought it was significant that the fbi agent indicated they are leaning toward isis. Let me bring it back to pierre thomas. I had the same sense that the congressman had. From watching the fbi and the press conferences. The police know a lot more than theyre telling us right now. Exactly. They have a name, according to my sources. Theyre going through that persons background. They gave a hint as to leanings to give the public a sense this was potentially domestic terrorism. The fbi tries to do that when they can to let people know what theyre dealing with. Its early. As the congressman said. Theyll go through every potential lead until they can say definitively what they had happen here. Theyre saying so far, congressman, that they believe the situation is over right now. They believe there is threat to orlando. They went farther to say the state of florida right now. They say they have no more indications of another threat. This gunman did act alone. This has become the big concern of Homeland Security officials. The fbi over the last year. Lone wolfs, radicalizing themselves, taking matters into their own hands. Yeah, isis, more than al qaeda, has been able to reach out to the fringe, the psychotic people, and the lone wolfs. They have the capacity to reach out and lure in lone wolfs. This is a growing threat. Not that it will be a threat to the overall security of the nation. But it can have them carry out mass killings. These lone wolfs are a threat. The immediate concern, brad garrett, that other copy cats may crop up. Unfortunately, as we have talked so many shooters, the trigger for other people to justify committing a violent act. It emboldens them. To see a shooting on television. Look, this guy pulled it off. Ky do the same thing. A big concern for Law Enforcement. Who do they know who is out there and might be ready to launch. And pie year thomrre thomas, of people Homeland Security has been keeping an eye on continues to grow. It duds. All 50 states. Individuals theyve identified with some interests in isis and other terror groups. The fbi director calls them troubled souls. People that can be reached through the internet. Isis is reaching out to encourage these people to act. We dont know definitively that thats what this is. Pierre thomas, peter king, thank you very much. A situation in orlando, as many as 20 perhaps more dead in orlando after a shooting in a nightclub. Hostage situation as well. Police and fbi investigatinvest. Well be right back. And as we stay on top of the domestic terror this orlando. A big week in politics as well. Hillary clinton secures the nomination. A tough week for donald trump. Our Energyshare Program does just that, assisting with bill pay and providing free, energysaving upgrades. Its more than helping customers, its helping neighbors. Stand by me the race for the white house now. Its far too soon to know what the impact of the terrible events in orlando will have. Hillary clinton making history. G got the back of president obama. Donald trump stirring up anxiety in the gop and working to put accusations of racism behind him. Im the least, just so you dmoe, the least racist person. The least racist person that you have ever seen. The least. I mean, give me a break. His criticism of that judge in san diego still drawing criticism as well. Paul ryan, the most powerful elected republican in the country denounced the comments. Claiming a person cant do the job because of their race is a textbook ryan is standing by his endorsement of donald trump. You said in explaining why youre standing by your endorsement is that what matters more to you than anything is our core principles. What is more important . Thats why i did it. This is the party of linking. Jack kemp. Ronald reagan. Thats why we speak up against any comment that has racist hints. This is not the first time you had to do this. That isnt the first time. It wont be the last time if this continues. Hopefully, this wont continue. Hopefully, the campaign will move in a better direction so that it can with be one that we can all be proud of. We got two choices. Hillary clinton, donald trump. A republican presidency. A democrat presidency. Hillary clinton is promising to double down on the obama policies. Theyre wrong. Theyre not helping. Alternative. Does that president have the temperament to be commander in chief . I cant speak for his stage presence. If private, i find his temperament better than what you see on stage. You think he could be an effective commander in chief . I think hes better than Hillary Clinton. Do i believe that these principles and policies that flow from those principles have beater chance of make ig it to law with donald trump and that Hillary Clinton . Absolutely. I do believe that. I think that is whats necessary to save the country. Even if the president espouses values that you dont share. I dont believe in those values. I dont know whats in his heart. I do think, hope, and believe, that hes going to improve the tenor, the tone of the campaign. The kind of campaign that hes going to run. I believe we need to be inspirational, astirational, and thats not the Campaign Donald trump is running, is it . Its not. I hope we can control the actions here in the house. You said you hope he can change. If he doesnt, can you stand by him . I wont speak to the future. I hope hell change the tone. 67 proposals there. One of them having to do with immigration. Protectitecting our boards. No mention about the wall paid for by mexico. I think securing the the border is realistic. We proe foez secure the border a different way. If you talk to the experts, there are places where walls are necessary. Places are fences and other kinds of things are necessary. Mexico paying for it . I never supported that. That and the mass deportation is something i also spoke out against. Were not going to agree with our nominee mitt romney and i didnt agree on everything and i ran on the ticket with him. Its a little much to ask that even agrees on everything. He talks about having mexico pay for the wall in every speech. The temporary ban on muslims in every speak. In your 67 proposals, no mention of that ban. I dont we dont agree with that ban. We dont believe we should have a religious test on people coming into the country. We should have a security test. We dont agree on that. Thats fine. Good people can disagree on things. What we do agree on, we believe we need to control who comes and goes in this country. If only for National Security reasons but for Economic Security as well. We do need to secure the border. We agree on the goal of securing the border. If you look at the big issues he talks about in every single speech. Those are all things you have come out against. How can you say that the things you agree on outweigh the thi you disagree on . Because the kinds of conversations i have had with him are about what our agenda looks like . What our principles are. He agrees with the need to get people out of poverty. Move people from welfare to work. We all agree with comprehensive tax reform to fwroe the economy. We agree we need to strengthen our military. We need a better foreign policy. On the big yrissues, we see comn ground. It seems like youre on parallel but not touching paths. Youre talking about one policy. Hes talking about another on the stump. Thats his right. Youre rejecting the choice hes offering. Were just in the midst of rolling out an agenda. In the house, were saying, heres the laws we want to pass to improve peoples lives, to fix our government and our countrys problems. That retires a president to sign them into substance to the con ver says. Doesnt it require a president to campaign on them . It requires a candidate to you need to be up front with people ahead of the election about where you want to go so if you win the election, you have the ability to go there. Thats the kind of election i have always wanted to have. Youre being up front with one set of proposals. Hes up front with another. Hes agreeing with the principles. Mr. Trump will give his cred critique on sec cacretary clintn monday. What should it be . I think her track record is terrible. The story of her tenure at the state department and her time since then, i think, should be called into question. Trying to live above the law, putting a server in your basement, which is not something youre secretary of state, which compromising National Security. We dont want people that think theyre above the law. I believe her track record, russia reset. Syria. Libya. All of that should be fair game. More importantly, where does she want to take the country . Down the same path that barack obama has taken the country. Its the wrong path, in my opinion. How about going back to the controversies of the 90s . I think the whole span of a persons career is fair game. Do you expect to see that . I dont know what were going see with his speech. Im busy trying to be a good speaker of the house. Some are hoping to find way to block donald trump is the the convention. Is that realistic . He won the thing fair and square. 17 people competed. One person won. He got the delegates. He won fair and square. If h wrote about the man you ran with, mitt romney, was one of the more honorable, principled, fiercely sbel jept men. How would you describe donald trump . Lets wait and see. Mr. Speaker, thank you very much. You bet. Lets get a response from Donald Trumps campaign chair, paul manafort. You just saw paul ryan. He believes well start to see a different donald trump on the trail. Is he right . All parts of the campaign are coming together. Youll see donald trump making more speeches that have set speeches. Youll see more interaction in different environments other than rallies. Youll see rallies. Donald trump gets energy from them and givers energy back. The campaign will be a Traditional Campaign in that respect. But untraditional in approach focusing on the dins between us and Hillary Clinton. How about on the policy . He indicates donald trump will be coming his way. He said specifically he believes donald trump is listening to him on the issue of entitlements. I was interested listening to him. Theres a lot of agreement between the two parties on the principles of the ryan ageneral dap and the reason donald trump is running for president. The difference is donald trump is running against the system he thinks is rigged. He thinks hasnt worked. Has hurt the people of the united states. He thinks washington doesnt get it. Paul ryan right at the top of the system in congress. He is. He is talking about policies that will change things. Theres a bit of a rub. Trump is willing to not accept the status quo in washington. You have that component. You have policy differences as well. At the end of the day, both paul ryan and donaldru they see Hillary Clinton as an extension of that system. They see her as a third term for obama. In a year of change, shes the establishment candidate. Thats what youre going to see the campaign focus on. Mitt romney, the last nominee of the republican party. Having a conference in utah. Says his heart is breaking watching donald trump lead the gop. Meg whitman comparing him to musolini and hitler. Theyre sitting in their cob co coco cocoons. He was a coward. Coward . Had an opportunity to get in e the race and chose not to. Hes criticizin over 3. 5 million more votes than romney got in the primaries this year. One of the underreported facts. What trump zbeting today in the his pan irk community, the black community, the independent community, hes equaling or bettering what romney did at the end of his campaign. Trump has a strategy. Also creating angst in the rm party. Especially with the comments about the judge. Hugh hewitt and others trying to find ways to stop donald trump at the convention. Can you shut that down . Very few people are talking about that. The malcontents. The delegates to the convention are looking forward to an exciting time. There wont be serious issues in cleveland. People are banding together. Whats getting all the attention are five or six people. Theres the broad base behind donald trump. Is working with us. Helping us build out our campaign. And the integration, we have, for example, with the rnc, is almost seamless. Another underreported fact. Always the pundits and media have been trying the say donald trump cant achieve certain goals. Couldnt get 20 , 30, 40, 50, now theyre saying he doesnt have a campaign structure. Shortfall reported on financing. Could be as much as 300 million to 500 million shortfall to Hillary Clinton. Where does that stand . Is the possibility of donald trump taking public finances still on the table . He did very well. Spent letsss. Money is a component. Its not the only one. But hes going to be outspent . I dont think hell be i think well raise the money. Again, we had meetings in new york this past week. We had a very good session. They left there energized. Were not worried about the fundraising and the field staffs. You have an underreported story 800 people in the Clinton Campaign there are only 70 in the trump campaign. What that misses, there are over 500 or 600 people coming out of the battleground state who is have been trained and were working with. Who will become part of the trump campaign. The Hillary Clinton speech tomorrow in new hampshire. The Clinton Campaign out ahead of that. Today, we face a choice about who we are as a nation. I would like to punch them in the face. Do we respect each other . I dont know what i said. I dont remember. What kind of america do we want to dangerously divided or strong and united . Several Million Dollars put behind the clip of mr. Trump mocking the reporter with the disability. Does he have to apologize for that . First of all, he wasnt mocking him. Hes dealt with that issue. Shes trying to talk about a campaign to bring the country together. Shes the ultimate divisive figure in this campaign. People think shell do the job and record numbers are saying she cant do the job. They dont think she has the integrity to be president. They dont think shell bring real change to washington. Whereas donald trump is viewed as the candidate. Hes not the establishment candidate. Youre saying no apology coming on that matter . Hes already dealt with that matter. Hes dismissed it. Well be right back with Bernie Sanders. Tell us how his campaign ends. What Hillary Clinton must do to win over his supporters . Where hes headed next. Where is your head on all this right now . Wheres my head on . My head is on right now to do everything i can to defeat donald trump to do everythingky to make sure that the Democratic Party transforms itself into becoming a Grass Roots Party that represents working people and young people. And not just the party that goes out, raising money from the wealthy, to make sure that we have a platform that is the most progressive platform in the history of the Democratic Party. To make sure its clear well fight for health care for all people. To make public colleges and universities tuitionfree. T to make sure we transform america and tell the wealthiest people that they cant have it all. Have you talked to Hillary Clinton about how youre going to do hat . Ill be meeting with Hillary Clinton, tuesday evening. What well talk about exactly is what kind of platform we have and above and beyond the platform, which is a piece of paper is in fact, if he wins, what kind of Administration Shell have and whether or not shell stand up forcefully for working families and be prepared to take on wall street and the big money influences. Lets be concrete. What kind of things do you need to see exactly . I need to see a commitment that there will be progressive t taxation. That wall street and billionaires start paying their fair share of taxes so we can address the crises facing inner cities and that we have the largest childhood poverty. We need to make sure in one way or another that has health care as a right. And we join the rest of the stril ized worlds. And public colleges and universities in one way or another, she may disagree with me on how to get there, that public colleges and universities are tuitionfree. We create a massive federal jobs program to put millions of people back to work, rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure. And george, the recognition that Climate Change is the great Global Environmental crisis that we face. We have to work with the world aggressively away from fossil fuel to Sustainable Energy and energy efficiency. It sounds like youre prepared to play a constructive role with her after tuesday night. A lot of supporters still pretty upset. Jill stein, the Green Party Candidate says, dont forget, Bernie Sanders up for a Political Revolution. Do you believe Hillary Clinton can lead a Political Revolution . I dont think she is lead a Political Revolution. I think if shes smart, and she certainly is smart, shell understand that good public policy, taking on the big money interests and standing up for working families, standing up for the environment. Standing up for clean water, is, in fact, good politics. Can she do that . Yes. Will she go as far as i would like her to go . No, she wont. I think millions of people want to understand and see is what kind of commitment she has to addressing the real crises in the country and transforming the Democratic Party away from a party which simply is there in many respects to raise money from the wealthy into a party which listens to the pain of a declining middle class and and shows the courage to tell the big money interests that this world is going to change. Donald trump is likely to use your words to attack Hillary Clinton on issues like speaking fees and the clinton foundation. Will you step in to defend her . Well, donald trump is totally and absolutely unfit to become president of the united states. You know, george, it is incomprehensible to me that in the year 2016, after all this country has suffered with, in terms of racism, and discrimination, that this man is running his Campaign Based on bigotry, based on attacking mexicans and latinos and muslims, and africanamericans and women, that is incomprehensible. I will do in one way or another, everything ki can to make sure donald trump doesnt become president of the united states. Are you as Vice President . Well, i think that is very unlikely. Well see what happens down you know, after this whole campaign winds down. What i want to see is Hillary Clinton appoint a Vice President who is a progressive. I want to see Hillary Clinton become a champion of the needs of working families. Putting together an administration not based on wall streets needs but on the needs of americans. If not you, Elizabeth Warren . Im a great admirer of e l Elizabeth Warren. Shes been a dynamite senator. I think you have gone farther and longer than you thought possible a year ago. What are you most proud of . What is your biggest regret . What im most proud of is that i b primary and caucus, we have won the vast majority of people under 45 years of age. And what that tells me is that our ideas, the ideas of social and economic and racial and environmental justice, sththat the future of this country. Im proud that we also showed and have showed that we can raise a significant sum of money without having a superpac. And appealing to the big money interest for their support. That we can do it with the support of working families, and in many cases, believe it or not, lowincome people. I think what we have shown is that the American People want real change in the country. Theyre tired of status quo politics and economics. Theyre not happy with the grotesque level of income and wealth inequality. They Want Congress t working for them. Bernie sanders. Thank you for joining us again. Well watch to see what happens in the meeting tuesday night. Thank you, george. And well be right back with the roundtable. Everybody wants to know, who im going to choose for Vice President. Who do you like . He says newt. Who do you like . They say sessions. Sessions. He says condi rice. Ive never done this before. This is fun. You to think the country would be ready for two women . Think at some point. Maybe this time. Maybe in the future. Were going to be looking for the most qualified person to become president should something happen to me if im fortunate enough to be the president. Donald trump, Hillary Clinton, looking ahead to running mates. Lets talk about allhe politics on tthe roundtable. Joined by matthew dowd, donna brazile, bill kristol of the Weekly Standard and katrina vanden heuvel of the nation. This is set. Hillary clinton versus donald trump for the next five months. Hillary clinton seeming to unify the Democratic Party this week. Donald trump facing the anxiety inside republican ranks. A lot of republicans still hoping donald trump can change. I also dont think, dont forget gary johnson. Hes polling in the 10 to 12 . I think donald trump has unified the republican party. 85 of Republican Voters want him. The problem for donald trump, the establishment of the party is disconnected from the voters of the party in the course of this. Its been going on for 20 years. They dont feel like the choice they want to make is the same as the Republican Voters. The problem is not donald i think the party, and each side of the aisle, has to come to the place where they quit telling people the only choice you have the donald trump or Hillary Clinton. The antitrump folks the trump folks have to quit saying youre either with us or Hillary Clinton. People ought to stand firm in their choice. The third party has spoken. God bless us, right . Absolutely. Donald trump has tied withed more than just establishment. Hes dividing the country. Hes dividing republican leaders. Mark kirk, the senator from illinois, stated he will no longer support donald trump. You have people saying theyve endorsed him, they may not vote for him pip think what mitt romney said over the weekend, trickledown racism. This will have a lingering factor on donald trump. Meantime, bill kristol. Youve been a pro the never trump movement. You havent been able to get a candidate out there. You heard paul manafort. Hey, we beat 17 candidates. Get over it. Ive known paul ryan for 20 years. I like him very much. It was painful to watch. People that are proud to be representatives of the party of lincoln. It will be a horrible four or five months. People dont understand how much damage from my point of view, donald trump did. Paul manafort, they have a clear message. People are underest hating trumps chance of winning. Theyll say, do you want change or not . If its only trump or Hillary Clinton, in a change election, you can have a flawed change messa messenger and im afraid he could win. You heard ps he ran an extraordinary campaign. Hes ignited a movement. Hes inspired people to care about issues. Can he get them behind Hillary Clinton . He can. What Bernie Sanders is going to do is run two movements. One to defeat trump. He said from the beginning, the media didnt pay attention, he would support whoever won the primaries an would do everything he could to defeat donald trump. You can run down ballot candidates. You can run progressive candidates. You can amplify social movements. The untold story of this election. And you can strengthen and empower the ascendant wing of the party. He and Elizabeth Warren could be powerful. If Hillary Clinton is able to rally the ascendant wing, how does trump counter it . By taking it to the i didnt hear Bernie Sanders sounding very unifying, though. Hes still, to you, in the interview, was talking about wall street. Railing against big money and politics. Hillary clinton got millions of dollars giving speeches to wall street. His first sentence was, its time to defeat donald trump. And the rest was how he hopes his influence will continue. He won 22 states. Over 10 million votes. Some of those werent squeakers. He won millennial voters. Including millennial women. The Clinton Campaign would do well to respect senator sanders and learn from his voters. Same thing republicans should do for the 13. 5 million voters who have gone for donald trump. What can we learn from them . Hillary rejecting the false choice. Does jill stein, gary johnson, have a real chance of getting the bernie they both have a realistic chance to beggain the support. I think we all ought to pause with what happened in orlando today. People going to disney world with their families, that awful shooting at a gay nightclub in orlando. If we understand that the hateful thoughts become hateful words become hateful action. Maybe the temperatures will go down and we get back to place where we can understand the common good. Its not going to be about temperament. It will be about strong leadership. Strong leadership is not about fear mongering. Donald trumps idea of a Counterterrorism Program is banning all muslims. Bombing all families in the middle east. And torturing i think the, you know, grief and anger today, but we cant l senseless gun violence and the gun epidemic in the country. 66 People Killed in chicago in may. Hillary clinton has a very strong gun control program. Trump, hes tethered to the nra. I think that has to be mass shootings. So many this year since 2013, we have had over 1,000 mass shootings. Clearly, theres a place today in the dialogue to talk about the tone and temperament of our national leaders. June is pride month. For many americans, this is an opportunity for them to express their feelings about equality. Finally being treated as equal citizens under the law. This is a special moment for people to mourn those who or pray for those now in the hospital. Those who are wounded. Parents fearing their children may not come home today. But, talking about politics and tone, it matters because youre looking for a leader. Together. Im antitrump. But if this was an act of islaming terrorism. We have learned the name of the shooter. Omar martin. From port st. Lucie, florida. These talking points are not going to work. The best moment, i say this with refwret. The moment that helped donald trump win the nomination is the San Bernardino massacre and his calling for a ban of all muslims. We shouldnt do it. But having said that, it helped him. If these are the democratic talking points, senseless gun violence. Its us versus them. Its not helpful in solving the problem. Less guns possibly yes, pos and well stay on top of the shooting in orlando all day long. Stay with abc news. Thanks for joining us this morning. To full measure. Republicans and democrats finally have presumptive nominees and are headed towards their summer conventions. For democrats with Bernie Sanders still in the race, there could still be fireworks inside the Convention Center in philadelphia. For the gop, the action may be outside the convention in cleveland where the Republican National convention is being held next month. Some violent protests have followed donald trump on the campaign trail
