The first accident of the morning, 95 southbound at 100. Then in glen burnie as you were telling us we have signal problems continuing there. More information about that. Northbound ritchie highway, ordinance road. Apparently a truck hit the signals and it caused signals to be stuck there. Northbound lanes are blocked. You can take route 10 or 97 as an alternate. On the beltway you are doing fine. Same for 95. That is the top side of the beltway. Live at harford. That is the west side. Similar situation at exit 17. Now wjz has the stories people are talking about this morning. Here is don. There are many questions about how a korean Jetliner Crashed at San Franciscos airport saturday. Investigators hope to get more answers when they interview the pilots in control at the time of the crash. Its Melanie Woodrow reporting for wjz. The focus of the investigation into the crash of asiana flight 214 shifts to the cockpit today. All four pilots will be interviewed to find out what they were doing in the moments leading up to the crash. We will get a lot more details about their activities, their work, their training, who was the pilot flying, who was the pilot in command in the cockpit at the time of the accident. Reporter preliminary evidence shows the plane was flying too low, almost 40 Miles Per Hour slower than what is recommended for a landing. There is so many backup systems. Its hard for a professional aviator to understand why they could get so low and so slow before they got to the runway. Reporter another investigation is underway to determine if one of the Crash Victims died outside the plane after it came to a stop. This video shows the moments immediately following the crash. You can see the emergency chutes deploy as the first survivors escape the wreckage. Passengers were running in all directions as the emergency vehicles began to arrive. Officials believe its possible one of the fire trucks may have hit a 16yearold chinese girl and killed her. The states attorney and the major took to the streets specifically in west baltimore last night to ask those who live there to help police. Some call it a city under siege. 120 people murdered in baltimore this year. 28 killed last month alone. You feel like a lot of people dont have hope here . I think the majority of them dont. Reporter Community Leaders take to the streets to try to help neighbors stand up against criminals. Its important for neighborhoods and the community to be engaged, to show that they are not going to relinquish the streets to violence. Reporter city police doubled patrols in crime hot spots and more and more officers are out on foot patrol. We want to let them know that we breath, we walk, we live, we work in this community. This is our community and we respect the community. Reporter some clergy members are critical saying citizens dont trust politicians or police officers. There is a secret code of silence on the street. We aint talking because they arent doing nothing. The protection hasnt been provided by our Police Department and by the states attorney. Reporter the states Attorney Says the code needs to be broken to stop the violence. To the extent that the community is involved, they believe in the system and come forward, thats when we start to make a difference. Reporter a difference that could save lives. Now, the commander for the Western District says the disputes over where different drug dealers are selling their wares and gangs is the reason why they are seeing a spike in violence there. The Chesapeake Bay bridge, one of the longest highest, also one of the most feared. I have this dream about the bridge that goes up and never comes down. My fear is when i start to feel dizzy that i will pass out. My legs are shaking. Everything about it makes me nervous. Reporter travel and leisure magazine ranked it one of the scariest in the world up there with bridges in michigan and colorado. Even a shaky footbridge in japan. The bay bridge is one of the longest most oddly constructed bridges. Reporter dr. Mccann says the fear of bridges is very common especially in maryland because of the bay bridge. It happened during the Independence Day parole. Witnesses say Kyle Aldridge was getting off a moving trailer when he he fell and was run over. He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. According to the capital newspaper, donations can be sent to the joseph brown funeral home here in baltimore city. A series of bear encounters have some neighborhoods worried. A black ber was killed on an interstate. Linh bui explains why they are more frequent. Reporter a car struck this juvenile black bear sunday. The young male was halfway across the interstate. His injuries were so severe officers had to euthanize him. The back end of the bear wasnt moving. You could see there was damage. Then the decision was made to put it out of its misery. It was suffering. Reporter biological Jonathan Mcknight says the bear population is expanding and the bears are looking for new habitats. They can travel up to 50 miles a day. This bear was captured and released in western maryland. This bear visited a gaithersburg home. He munched on bird seed for 30 minutes. Do not feed them. Its especially bad to leave food out or feed them. Once bears get climb my advertised to feeding and people they become dangerous and that is dangerous for them. Even though they are young bears, they are big. They can vary between 65 and 200 pounds. The best thing you can do is leave them alone. They shouldnt present danger to people. Stay away from them. Give them distance. If you see a black bear, give it plenty of space and eventually it will move on to find new habitat. Linh bui, wjz Eyewitness News. The peak season is just beginning. Well, listen. Normally when we talk to you, we are talking about models, stars, super stars, even tear rages, scandals, but that pales in comparison to teaching a kid to drive. That is a fact. How are you doing today . Im doing really good. And you are very right about that. I have a new teen driver in my family. My stepson is 17. He just got his permit. You hear the statistics about car crashes being the number one killer of teens and that first year after they get the license being the most dangerous time of the teens life. Its so scary to hear. Thats why im so excited to be a part of this campaign. Im learning as a parent everything i need to be teaching my stepson tyler and how important it is to get him in the car, for him to get experience, the drive at home initiative, the all state foundation as well as the National Safety council created drive at home. Org this wonderful web site to go to for incredible information and it talks about how its so important for to you get in the car with your teen and get them the experience these car crashes are not caused by what you may think they are, the teen car crashes, you think they are texting, doing Something Like that. Its just caused by lack of experience. When i first drove with tyler, he didnt know though brake at a stop sign. Something that we take for granted, we have been driving so long, he needed to learn. They want to you get in the car and spend more time with them. Were you a good teen driver . I was terrified. Thats the same thing with my stepson tyler. He is nervous about getting in the car. I went through the stoplight and it went through five changes before i made a left turn and cars beeping at me because i didnt want to make the left turn. We need to give the kids confidence. All state has talked to kids. Over 50 of the kids want that time in the car with their parents so that they can feel more comfortable and the parents, they discovered that two thirds of the parents they talk to wish they had spent more time in the car with their kids going over high risk situations like snow, rain or passengers in the car that can be distracting. So, high risk situations that you need to go over and help them gain experience so that these statistics can go down as far as teen car crashes. The Little Things, my second son when i was teaching him, he had no idea about the rearview mirrors until i told him to change mirrors and he did without looking in a mirror. We take it for granted. Its so scary and its just because they dont know. They dont have the experience. Thats one of the things that the web site will tell you scanning, using your side mirrors and your rearview mirror.
