Police say the woman got into a fight with a couple and one of this happened right in the heart of Herald Square. 34th and broadway. News 4s Michael George is there live this evening with the latest. Well, rob, natalie, as you said, the heart of Herald Square packed with tourists, packed with shoppers. And its right here where a woman was stabbed early this morning. And right now, the attacker is still on the loose. Herald square, known for tourists, known for shopping. But one thing its not typically known for is crime. Are you surprised to hear there was a stabbing here . Yeah, i was surprised. Really was surprised. Police say it happened in the center of Herald Square at 34th and broadway at 5 30 in the morning. A woman was walking with her boyfriend and some friends when she lagged behind her group. She got into an argument with a man and woman. One woman stabbed the other leaving the victim badly injured. We saw the tape, the yellow tape lined up and, everything. And a couple of cops standing around. The victim was rushed to the hospital. But shes expected to survive. The attacker and the man she was with ran to the subway and got on the northbound f train. Many people were surprised to learn about the stabbing. Dont make no sense. Its sad. Police are trying to identify who they are. Many shoppers told us they still see Herald Square as a safe place. Still feel safe. It seems like a lovely area. Theres Little Information about the suspects. Police are looking for a woman in her 40s and a man in his 30s and anyone with information is asked to call police. Michael george, news 4 new york. Bowles was the intended target gunned down in the street a 6yearold girl and her aunt were caught in the cross hairs. They were both hit. Pleading for the gunman to turn himself in. This is ridiculous. You know, these young kids with these guns. Its not right. And were killing off our own kind, you know, when we should share love and unity, were just dropping one another off like flies. The gunman is still on the run tonight. Union county Crime Stoppers is offering a 10,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest. Well, the investigation into last weekends plane crash in egypt continues tonight. The big revelation from the black box is at this point is a loud noise heard before that plane went down. So was it the sound of a bomb going off . Nbcs bill neely has more. The investigating team has spoken officially. And we got the first confirmation today that they believe the plane broke up in midair and thats due to the fact that the wreckage was scattered across an area 8 miles long. Also, official confirmation for the first time what we heard yesterday that there was a noise in the cockpit. The chief investigator timed that noise at 23 minutes and 14 seconds into the flight. That noise in the last second of the cvr recording. A Spectral Analysis will be carried out by specialized labs in order to identify the nature of this noise. That noise will now be minutely analyzed. Indeed, it will be compared with the noises from other crashes, other cockpit voice recorders. Other crashes for which the cause is known. To see if they can match those noises up. Now, the chief investigator sounded rather frustrated at one point today. Not only by those leaks but by the fact that he said intelligence that have been shared in other countries with other media was not being shared with the egyptian investigating committee. At one point, he spoke in arabic and said that they were considering all possibilities, including that it could be the crash caused by lithium batteries held by any of the passengers or it could be from an explosion in the fuel tank. All scenarios are on the table, he said. I cannot exclude anything. So far, he wouldnt say for sure that there was any definitive cause. That will have to wait and it could wait for some time. Politicians and citizens turned out today at the Technical School on Market Street to say goodbye to the reverend ron christian. The pastor of the Christian Love Baptist Church in irvington, new jersey. Christian was found dead at the church last week. He founded the congregation after struggling with drugs and spending time in prison. By all accounts, that struggle helped him minister to his many followers. He was a down to earth person. A regular person that he didnt discriminate against anyone or anybody. He showed love to everybody. Investigators say they do not suspect foul play and reverend christians death.
