The search is now on for two gunmen. Action News Reporter Katherine Scott is live at Police Headquarters in darby borough with more on this. Katherine. Reporter matt, the tip calls have been coming in but police are still searching for the two men who opened fire. One of the bullets just missing a crib where a threeyearold was asleep. When theyre shooting these guns they dont know where theyre going. Reporter and on this occasion the bullet came dangerously close to the great grandchild of Darby Borough Council president janice davis. Less than a half a foot from the top of the crib where the threeyearold was sleeping. When i looked at the hole i said that was awfully close to his head but that was my great grandson. If he had stood up he might not be here day. Police say around 11 oclock sunday night two men opened fire nearby. One of the bullets traveled a block and pierced the boathouse two apartments on south fifth street. We heard about six or seven gun shots. I heard the shooting and everything. I hit the floor. Reporter the gunmen fled. It wasnt until later police learned the stray bullet almost struck the threeyearold. If the child stands up, the child is hit. Philadelphia police say they may have a break in the case avenue double murder. It happened along the 4700 block of vista street in mayfair on saturday. 67yearold dollie evans and her house guest 59yearold ruby thomas were both shot in their heads execution style. Authorities say they are now questioning a 25yearold man who was also staying with evans. Police say witnesses saw him fleeing the scene. Family members are not sure what could have sparked the shooting. I was shocked. And i i was shocked. I didnt see it coming. I didnt see that coming from him. Evans brother says the man had been living in a Halfway House before she took him in. So far no charges have been filed. Two people are hospitalized following a north Philadelphia Row home fire.
