The issue today and issue this morning, the record cold and theres more record cold expected later on tonight before the snow arrives just in time for the start of our weekend. The high today in philadelphia just 18 degrees and currently were coming in at 17 here in philadelphia, nine in the poconos, 14 for allentown reading and lancaster. Along the coast in Atlantic City 16, same thing for wildwood and dover. Do you have those wind chills to factor in. Theyve been pretty constant most of the day early this morning we had wind chills anywhere from 17 below here in philadelphia to 35 below in the poconos. Right now we have single digit wind chills. It feels like four in the city, two for allentown and reading, zero in lancaster and 3 degrees currently along the coast in wildwood. Heres satellite6 along with action radar. You can see its mostly clear and quiet from new england all the way down across the midatlantic region so High Pressure is in control. The winds will start to subside and diminish for the rest of tonight and with decreasing winds on the way a there are more records to watch later on tonight and overnight. For philadelphia the record is six. Were calling for a low tonight of seven but pretty close to record territory for allentown, trenton wilmington and Atlantic City with either records tonight below zero or in the Single Digits so we have to watch out for that. Well widen out the picture here. Satellite6 along with action radar shows you our next area of low pressure that were tracking, its a low coming out of texas and you could see the precip kind of spilling out ahead of the area of low pressure so snow across the Tennessee Valley even rain across its deep south. This will work its way from a southwest to northeast direction as early as tomorrow. So future tracker 6 actually speeding up the arrival time of that snow by noontime you could see its breaking out across our far northwest suburbs from the poconos down to lancaster. It continues to overspread from a southwest to northeast direction as we get into 3 oclock tomorrow afternoon with that snow along the 95 corridor, it will continue at 6 30 in the evening, so you might want to think about some alternative plans if youre stepping out on the town for some dinner perhaps on saturday. But you notice we do already find that transition from snow over to sleet. If not some mixed precipitation and rain across south jersey. 9 30 tomorrow night well start to find a transition from snow to a little bit of mixed precipitation along the 95 corridor but rain for the city areas south and east. Mixed precipitation across our immediate northwest suburbs but that snow hangs on north and west. As we get into the overnight hours, however everyone looks to be above freezing where you get that transition from snow to any mixed precip to rain but it still holds on for Lehigh County up through the poconos. By midday on sunday morning you could see moisture moves out, clouds break for some sunshine and temperatures on sunday will actually be in the middle and lower 40s so sunday afternoon well start to salvage a little bit of that weekend. Expected snowfall 1 to 2 inches for south jersey and delaware. Two to four as you move along that 95 corridor for trenton philadelphia and wilmington. About four to 6inches for lancaster northern montgomery and bucks reading allentown and the poconos and it does look like that snow will hold on a little longer for areas north and west of town. Saturday snow is what were calling for, afternoon and evening thumping. Temperatures have been well below freezing and weve had this extreme cold for sometime so the roads will quickly slick over. This will be a heavy wet snow. Light icing is possible and then changing over to rain in many locations. The exclusive accuweather 7day forecast showing you tomorrow High Temperature of 33. Afternoon and evening snow on the way. On sunday, up to 46 degrees after some early showers and late day sun so sunday doesnt look to be bad by the afternoon.
