She was acquitted of the most serious charges including aggravated assault. Assistant District Attorney mike berry says the victims are pleased with the decision. They said repeatedly in many situations that they werent out for vengeance, they were just out to be recognized that what happened happened and that they were attacked and that they were attacked for who they were and this jury verdict recognizes that. Reporter back in september 2014 knott was walking in a group of 15 people when the attack took place. It left one man way broken jaw. Two codefendants pleaded guilty and got probation. Knott testified she never shouted slurs at the men or threw a punch. Several jurors said evidence supported her guilt but debate got heated he over a conspiracy charge and in the end some say they had to make compromises to reach the verdict. We were getting nowhere debating what we were debating. We could have easily been a lung jury but we decided that we need to can come to a decision so she didnt get to walk away again. I just felt so bad for them. I felt so bad for them and this is so unnecessary. It just never should have happened. It never should have happened. Challenge is educating our children, training our adults and helping more people to lift out of the rans of poverty and into the middle class. That is our number one challenge going forward.
