Saturday morning, mcguire was set to pilot a plane from detroit Metropolitan Airport to Philadelphia International airport while drunk. As Police Detained john mcguire off of the American Airlines flight he was prepared to fly while allegedly intoxicated, passengers knew something was amiss. Initially they were told there was a problem with the pilots seat. I was getting a little nervous and i guess there was a good reason why. I saw them actually taking the pilot around the side of the car and handcuffing him. Reporter maguire may have taken flight from detroit to philadelphia if not for an alert t. S. A. Agent. The agent smelled what he thought was alcohol on maguire. Police responded and the 50yearold allegedly failed two breathalyzer tests. He was taken to a local Police Station. We were all told to get off the plane and then they told us that our flight was canceled. Reporter he was reese leads by police in michigan and faces a misdemeanor charge of operating an aircraft while under the influence. American airlines called it a serious matter and said it is assisting with the investigation. And authorities in michigan say maguire has been released but its unclear if hes made his way back to our area. The Delaware County native who was killed outside his Police Station in maryland was laid to rest today. Members of the Elsmere Fire Company and the Goodwill Fire Company of new castle staged this tribute as the procession for jacai colson came through i95 and newport this morning. The Police Escort from maryland ended at Lawn Croft Cemetery in linwood, Delaware County. Family, friends and colleagues attended the private ceremony at the cemetery. Colson was killed by a fellow Police Officer in a case of mistaken identity. On march 13th. It happened during a shootout with a suspect outside of the Police Station in landover, maryland. Police in milltown delaware are investigating the discovery of a camera in the ladies room of a local restaurant. She then turned it over to police who now must try to figure out who put it inside the womens restroom and why. The discovery was made the evening of march 19th reportedly a female employee here at moes southwest grille in the 4700 block of kirkwood highway became suspicious after comments made by a male colleague. As she was emptying the trash can in the womens restroom she noticed this tiny video camera. A flat connecting wire led to a battery pack that in this picture is partly obscured. There was also a memory card device installed. Sources who say they reviewed the memory card video were alarmed at what they found. They described disturbing invasion of privacy. They estimated there could be more than a hundred. The videographer yo clips of women using the restroom. Among the most troubling images we were told, that of a little girl believed to be five to 11 years old. The camera and the video were turned over that evening to the delaware state police. A Department Spokesperson confirmed there is an ongoing active investigation into the matter. By phone, the Franchise Owner of this moes southwest grille patel told action news that he had no comment at this time. We dont want to release anything at this time. We are working with the police. A corporate spokesperson in atlanta also said that the local owner was cooperating with authorities and added the safety of our guests is our top priority. Again, its not known who put the camera inside the restroom and why. Nor is it known how long it might have been there, had it been there just days, weeks, maybe longer, all questions that the police are going to have to answer. The City Council Committee on Public Safety heard testimony about establishing a comprehensive strategy to reduce gun violence in the city particularly among young people. West Deptford Police have charged a man with aggravated assault, that after video of the suspect allegedly beating a juvenile to a pulp went viral last week on the internet. The mount holly new Jersey PoliceDepartment Paid tribute to three fallen officers today. This was the annual tribute for patrolman Donald Aleshire and john holmes of the mount holly Police Department and william wurst of the hainesport Police Department. Aleshire and wurst were shot back in 1975 by a sniper. Holmes was then paralyzed and died from his wounds 17 years later. Each year the mount holly Police Department holds the ceremony to honor their service and their sacrifice. A bill has been introduced into the new Jersey Senate that would require all Public Schools to test their water for lead contamination. Under the proposed bill schools would have to test water twice a year and up to 20 million would be made available to reimburse costs and provide water filters where necessary. You send your children off to school to get an education. Youre not sending your kids off to school having their brains having their bodies poisoned with lead. Reporter last year 3100 new cases of lead poisoning in kids was reported in new jersey. It can lead to permanent brain damage and other health problems. A fund to help led poisoning cleanups was enacted in 2004 but critics say more than 50 million that of money has been diverted to balance state budgets. How many kids have been harmed over the years with all these governors who did not spend that money for lead poisoning. Reporter for years camden has used bottled water because of high lead levels and since 2005, trenton schools have voluntarily tested water for lead. People we talked to today think all schools should be testing. There are many Old Buildings and theres lots of olds pipes and im sure they havent been upgraded so it would be a really great opportunities.
