Philadelphia police say that a man appeared to be targeted as he was smoking a cigarette on the porch of his home on vandyke street at midnight. Authorities say the 33yearold man stepped outside when the gunshots rang out. He was rushed to the hospital but efforts to save him were unsuccessful. 10 shell casings were within feet and some inches where this individual was found, an indication that the shooter was standing in close proximity to the victim. Police tell action news that there are several businesses and homes in the area with Surveillance Video that could provide them with pictures of the suspects. A man taking out the trash was killed late last night when a car lost control and slammed into his home. It happened on the 100 block of edinburgh road in hamilton township. Police say that the driver lost control on the curb and ran over 53yearold daniel quinlin who lived there. Sometime after the crash his parents realized he was missing and police discovered him under the debris. Investigators are still piecing it together but neighbors say drivers speed through that stretch of road all the time. If are you going fast or paying attention to the road, how can you fly over a bush and kill someone if are you going slow . At this point police dont believe the driver was impaired there is no word if charges will be filed. A crash on the roosevelt boulevard late last night left one person dead and another person hospitalized. A driver lost control in the northbound inner lanes near pratt street and hit a tree. And two people inside of the car were rushed to the hospital and one person did not survive. There is no word what caused that driver to lose control. A south jersey family narrowly escaped their burning home this morning, this is what is left of the unit block on may drive in hamilton township. The inside sustained quite a bit of damage and two residents were checked out for smoke inhalation. Two family pets however did not survive. The cause of the fire is under investigation. And this is actually looking pretty good to produce ponding and puddling on the roadway. And here is the wide view one we get rid of this current batch well have cloudy and windy conditions, later this afternoon and tonight well look for additional rain. Temperatures now are cool across the region, 67 in philadelphia and as i mentioned the breeze is coming down from the northeast, and 68 in trenton and allentown and trenton and cape may. And 73 for a high in philadelphia. Right around average but not a perfect day with the threat of spotty shower activity once we get rid of the current showers.
