Trooper Frankie Williams was on route 55 responding to a call when a car crossed the median and slammed into his cruiser. The driver of the car was also killed. Action News Reporter Annie Mccormick is live at Cooper University hospital in camden where doctors could not save that trooper, annie. Reporter matt, thats right, trooper Frankie Williams was just 31 years old. I want to give you a look at this video. This is video from last night after he was pronounced dead at Cooper University hospital. Here you can see Camden County officers saluting the trooper as his body was escorted away from the hospital. Well, 7 oclock monday night that trooper williams was heading to a call on route 55 in millville. According to police, a man driving a Toyota Corolla crossed the Center Median hitting williams in his car head on. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. And williams was rushed to cooper hospital by helicopter. That is where doctors pronounced dead him dead a short time later at the hospital and back out here live we are told that williams just graduated from the academy back in january. He was assigned to the port norris station and he is also from atlantic county. Now, that crash still remain under investigation so more details to come from state police. Also breaking this morning a double shooting has left one man dead and an innocent by that stand wounded. Gunfire ear represented at a laundromat in the citys logan section around 12 30a police say a 22yearold man was shot several times and died at the hospital. The bystander 39yearold man was shot in the ankle while he was simply walking home. It appears that the shooter was firing shots from very close proximity and due to the fact that the victim was hit four times it appears that this 22yearold was the intended target. Police are talking to witnesses and checking surveillance cameras in the area. Wilmington police trying to determine if a young man who was shot four times was the victim of a robbery. They were called to the report of gunfire at 22nd and pine streets just after 5 oclock yesterday evening. In a home nearby they found a 19yearold man with gun shots wounds to his right arm leg and hips. He was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. Now investigators say there were several reports of armed holdups in that area around the same time. New from the overnight, fire damaged a Delaware County home that was built in the 1800s. The flames broke out just past 11 oclock last night on nyack avenue in lansdowne. Officials say the fire started on the second floor and spread to the third. People inside the home at the time of the fire were able to get out safely. The death toll from that warehouse fire in Oakland California is now up to 36 people and crews are not done yet going through all of that rubble.
