A philadelphia family and their neighbors are still shaken by an Early Morning Home Invasion in somerton and police say the intruders are still on the loose. It all started at 1 00 a. M. On fairview street on a block normally considered safe because so Many Police Officers live there. The quiet was shattered when three masked men broke through a back door and tied up a couple in their 60s and their adult son. Now, the homeowners did not want to show their faces but they told us the suspects ransacked every floor of their home before realizing they had the wrong house. I was scared to death. I thought this guy had a gun pointed at me. I said, you know, whats going on . I aint got nothing to give you. I really thought they were going to kill us because it was just at that point it was just the two of us and then they brought him in i just thought it was just the end of it. Again, if you can imagine it was the wrong house the intruders left without hurting anyone but see that picture there, the familys cat princess has been missing since that break in. They believe she ran out as the thieves broke in and they are hoping that someone will return her safely. In the meantime, detectives are reviewing security cameras from the area to see if they captured anything that can help them piece this together and locate those intruders. The deal between new Jersey Senate and Assembly Leaders would give the city 150 days to come up with a plan to cut spending in half before the state steps in to take over. A formal bill has not been introduced as of yet. Atlantic city is more than 550 million in debt. A list of coconspirators who were never indicted in the new jersey bridgegate scandal will remain private at least for now. A federal judge had ordered the names to be released by noon today but she delayed the deadline until next tuesday because someone whose name is on that lit is fighting to keep it private. Reporter thankfully no, brian, a wild and surprising morning for many folks who spotd that black bear including one fisherman who left this park this morning without not only a big catch but also a big story to tell. Josh carson has quite the story to tell. Friday morning while out fishing he spotted a black bear in the Wissahickon Valley Park. Just threw my line in got a couple fish heard some noise turned around thought it might be a coyote or ground hog at to hundred pound black bearism he says this is no fish tale and he has pictures. Hes not alone. Other people also spotted the bear thursday evening. Friends of wissahickon posted these pictures of the animal on its facebook page. My first thought was is this royal. Real. Reporter carson was shocked to see the animal feet from his fishing hole. If it came near me i would have been definitely up to my waist in the water. I would have swam the other way. Theres no way we would have had a standoff. Wildlife officials are warning people to keep a close eye on their pets. It doesnt come out looking for humans to eat. Reporter typically black bears dont like the city life but wildlife workers say this bear is probably looking for a mate and neater tour and wandered too far. Game Commission Officer gary check says in his 17 year career this is the second report of a black bear in philadelphia. Theres about 20,000 bears in pennsylvania and we dont have very people attacked by bears at all throughout the whole commonwealth. Basically when people get attacked its if they come between the mother and cubs or people are sleeping in their tents and they have food in the tender the bear goes up to the tent and once wants the food not the person. Reporter and wildlife Officials Say that if you are approached by a black bear in the wild raise your arms and appear bigger than that bear make lots of noise in hopes of scaring the animal away. Meantime philadelphia detectives are looking for the man who burglarized an apartment complex twice. The person they are looking for was caught on surveillance trying to break into the building on veree road. Investigator say he was spotted at the property in early march and then again at the end of april. Youre asked to call police if you recognize him. Whoa. Talk about a close call. The Linwood Police department is looking for the driver that nearly hit an officer. It happened last night just before 9 00 on new road near sea view avenue. Police say the officer was going to help a driver who was stranded on the side of the road when this happened. Thats when the other car sideswiped the officers vehicle as he was getting out. Thankfully the officer was not hit. Investigators are looking into the cause of a fire in the bridesburg section of philadelphia. Chopper6 was over that fire as crews arrived on the scene this morning. Smoke was coming from the roof of a warehouse in the 2200 block of fraley street. No one was injured in this one. A Chester County Elementary School has created a lasting tribute for a long time teacher who lost her life in a car crash. Today schuylkill elementary dedicated the reading area of their library to their former first grade teacher, donna. The 66yearold was killed in a car crash back in january. I didnt know what was going to happen with the baby, you know, id never heard of anybody with cancer while they were pregnant. Several doctors said termination was her only option, that chemotherapy would endanger the baby. But dr. Alleys cardonic at Cooper University lop disagreed. For nearly 20s years she worked with pregnant women facing cancer. Her office wall is still filled with pictures of 400 plus cases she continues to follow. Now were seeing more types of other cancers as well. The doctor says balancing treatment with pregnancy is usually a matter of timing. Organs are developing in the first trimester. After surgery to remove her tumor susan will to wait a few weeks until her second trimester to begin chemotherapy. Sometimes the drugs are switched to ones with a better track record for pregnancy. Susan actually had fewer side effects than she expected and she had frequent ultrasound scans. She was growing on schedule the whole time. Chemo was stopped a few weeks before autumn hope busby arrived by csection at a healthy 7 pounds, 10 ounces. But it resumed two weeks later. Susan is now cancer free and part of dr. Cardonics registry which will follow autumn hopes health for decades. The purpose of the registry was to empower women to make choices. I want to be proof to these other women who are going through this that it is possible that you can get through this and your baby can get through it. Super baby and super doctor, dr. Cardonics registry includes women from as far away as thailand. Shes taking on new cases every day an recent study in the new england journal of medicine backed up what she found with her patients is that chemo during pregnancy may not harm babies especially if they wait until after the first trimester. The directive is not a law but federal officials believe bathroom rights fall under title ix which prohibits sexual discrimination in education. What the framework does provide is advice for how School Administrators can protect the dignity and safety of every student under their charge. Now at schools if schools choose not to follow the order they risk losing federal funding. Leaders in texas and North Carolina have already vowed to fight the order. Homeland Security Officials are asking fliers to be patient as Airport Security line wait times continue to increase. At some airports lines have topped an hour and a half. Thats because the t. S. A. Has fewer screeners and has tightened security procedures. This afternoon officials said the government has a plan to deal with the long lines but that it will not neglect its duty to stop terrorists. A train driver commended for warning his passengers of an upcoming collision. Check it out. The dashcam video shows the train driver running through the cars yelling at passengers to brace for impact. This after he noticed a truck was blocking the tracks ahead. Those passengers listened they can all duck. The train is going about 60 miles an hour and there are about a hundred people on board. Now, thanks to that driver and his quick reaction, no one was hurt when that train did collide with that truck. Will a bunch of other accidents this afternoon. One was on the boulevard northbound by devereaux. Had one at kensington in hunting park by the taco bell. Most of those crashes in the city are starting to clear out which is good news. But the regatta wont be clearing from the kelly drive for another day or so, so the kelly does remain blocked. Thats putting extra traffic on the schuylkill where you see speeds like 12 and an unpleasant 17 Miles Per Hour. Out in Montgomery County a couple issues along egypt road. Traffic light troubles at willow brook drive an crash off 422 at cider mill and egypt road. Hamilton township just 9 miles an hour in the eastbound lanes of 195. Thats because of a crash at 130 thats take out a lane. Westbound a little gaper delay there with speeds in the 20s. In Burlington City a crash along high street near morris street. 42 in Camden County also with an accident here on the southbound side which would be busy anyway on a friday afternoon. This is a cold front pushing through. Three masked strangers armed in the middle of an intense search. Police say the suspects targeted the wrong house. Now theyre trying to track them down. Friday night and the big story on action news is that Home Invasion investigation. Tonight we are hearing more from the victims who were awaken in the middle of the night in their own home. Trish hartman live at the scene with details. Trish. Reporter monica, police are still looking for the people who did this. We spoke with the couple who say they were terrified to wake up in the middle of the night to three men in their home pointing a gun at them and demanding money. Somebody tapped on me and they said where is the money . And im looking at him as i woke up im looking at them and i said i dont have no money. Reporter the man who lives here on the 14,000 block of far day street says he was sound asleep when he was startled in the middle of the night. He says where is the money at man . And i said i dont have the money and in the moon time they had clasped my hands together with the bands. They tied my hands and they also tied my wifes hands. Reporter the couple who doesnt want to be identified lives here with their 37yearold son. All three say their hands were bound with zip ties while the three men wearing ban dan floridas and hats ransacked their house. They brought my son in. I really thought they were going to kill us because at that point it was just the two of us and then they brought him in and i thought it was just the end of it. Reporter when the men didnt find what they were looking for they left. One was telling the other that this is the wrong house. This aint the house, man. Reporter after the men left they called 911.
