In Camden County we had a vehicle fire here on 295, southbound side by 168 the black horse pike. Thats all thats left. Its off to the side. Theres no delay. But we are seeing delays on the ben franklin bridge coming into center city from the mid span into eighth and vine. This Memorial Day Service was organized by the hatfield American Legion post number 933. The ceremony concluded with a 21 gun salute and a lone bugler. And down at the shore, the 7mile island American Legion parade made its way through stone harbor. It ended at the Womens Civic Club on nine sixth street at the beach. Their dad was a marine during world war two. The fact that we have a day set aside just to remember them is its just, you know its just a nice day and its something that we really ought to do. I kind of feel sad that like they lost their lives for us but i mean, its also good that they served our country and now were kind of celebrating them. People paused today to remember some of the bucks county natives who gave their lives to preserve our freedoms the action cam was outside of Saint James Church in bristol borough for a Memorial Day Service held by the robert w. Bracken American Legion post 3782. Attendees prayed for the heroes we lost, those still serving and also they prayed for peace. American legion post 547 held its annual memorial day tribute. The Community Event featured a parade right through the streets of ardmore. Several drill units and bands took part. Families also enjoyed food, giveaways, Face Painting and a bounce house there. Its a tradition that spans more than 50 years. And dozens came out to philadelphias bridesburg section this morning to pay their respects to those who made the ultimate sacrifice. The somber wreath laying ceremony at the most holy redeemer cemetery was followed by the more festive annual bridesburg memorial parade. Its considered to be the citys oldest. In Chester County the annual parade rolled through the streets of downingtown with pomp and circumstance. Thats the sounds of Downingtown High School east and west as they entertain the crowds gathered on pennsylvania avenue this morning. There were also hot rod cars, fire trucks and plenty of military personnel taking part in this years parade. Well, this parade marched through the streets of tinicum township this morning. The v. F. W. 4845 and the the ladies auxiliary sponsored this parade which included families and fire trucks. Its a day where you just find so many people outside for a great reason, to honor the fallen but we always hope that the weather would be nice this time of year. A little bit more cooperative t not the case today. It was pretty cloudy. And we return now to the Lehigh Valley where zoo keepers are trying to figure out how a young giraffe died. Lehigh valley correspondent walter perez fills us in on this investigation. Reporter only action news was allowed inside the barn housing murphy, the 15yearold masai giraffe one day after the mysterious death of his sixyearold son ernie. The animals arrived at Lehigh Valley zoo last week and zoo ceo melissa borlin says at first everything seemed okay. When he came into the barn, murphy actually took the side of his face and just rubbed it against ernies neck. Reporter but zoo Officials Say murphy and ernie turned aggressive toward each other over the weekend. While its not unusual behavior for giraffes their handlers decided to separate them overnight into sunday as a precaution. When zoo officials returned sunday morning, ernie was standing with his head bowed unusually low and they knew something was wrong. The zoos medical staff converged onto the scene. As they searched before, taking his vitals and whatnot, ernie fell over and he passed away on his own. That was probably the that was probably the most , i never want to see or experience anything like that again. Reporter at fires it was believed ernie may have died from a possible neck injury sustained while tussling with murphy but the cause of death cannot be confirmed until a. M. Personning necropsy is performed. They hope to open their giraffe exhibit sometime next month. But she says that only happen when everyone feels comfortable with the idea. We know that were not the only ones mourning the loss of ernie and so were going to do this hopefully sooner than we expected to do it but again, we really need to make sure that murphy is ready for this. Reporter the giraffes were delivered from the Kansas City Zoo after a 3. 8 Million Investment by the Lehigh Valley zoo to expand its african exhibit. The attacks happened friday night on the first dave ramadhan. The victims were killed while trying to come to the dade aid of two young muslim women. The suspect was allegedly screaming antimuslim slurs at the women. One of the men killed served in the military for 23 years. He died fighting the good fight protecting the innocent. Police have arrested Jeremy Christian in connection with the stabbings and are looking into his extreatment mist ideology.
