Rolling in. There is some patchy fog around, low lying stuff especially in south jersey and a little bit just north of philadelphia. You see some visibilities down below a half mile from toms river all the way down to dover, delaware. That should burn off after sunrise and then we transition to partly sunny skies through most of the day. Starting out warm. 73 degrees in philadelphia. Just 62 in allentown. Some of our northern suburbs not so bad. 73 in cape may. And the dewpoints have crept back up especially right in the i95 corridor from about philadelphia up through trenton, these darker shades of green indicate that. A 72degree dewpoint reading in cape may and 70 in dover, all of those 70s oppressive humidity and youll really feel it ones the sun comes up. As we go through the next 12 hours it is going to be warm and then hot. 71 degrees by 7 00. Up to 81 as quickly as 10 00 and then 86 by noon with a high of 91 degrees at 3 oclock this afternoon. Hot, more humid than yesterday and late tonight and overnight some thunderstorms will start rumbling through. Karen, we are eventually going to transition to much Better Weather but we are keeping our eyes on a couple of tropical depressions that may become storms. Both of which could affect things at the shore. Details coming up. My favorite place so we have to keep an eye on the shore. Were noticing fog through parts of the area. In some areas weve seen reduced visibility less than a mile. Delaware county i95 at 452 thats southbound traffic right here. We havent noticed it being a major problem as you drive. You just have to be careful and keep the low lights on, not the high beams dont forget as youre dealing with the fog this morning. In wilmington two lanes blocked that youll be dealing with on 141 southbound at boxwood road and in feltonville we have this serious accident, a fatal accident involving a person on a motorcycle. Whitaker avenue at loudoun street. Katherine scott is live on the scene. Avoid that area if you can matt. Thank you karen. It did not have a license plate attached and police say its a possibility that the license plate was removed to make it harder to track down the driver. Were live in feltonville, Katherine Scott, channel6 action news. Matt. Thank you, katherine. Overturned tractortrailer closed a busy stretch of i95 for hours overnight. A 12yearold girl stepped out of a corner store and right into the middle of a shooting. She is one of three people in the hospital this morning. Action News Reporter annie mccomic is live outside of saint christophers where the teen caught in the crossfire is trying to recover. Good morning, annie. Reporter good morning, nydia. Thats right that 12yearold girl here at saint christophers in stable condition. She was hit by a stray bullet as she was leaving a corner store. Now, police say that she is one person of three that was hit during that gunfire. Well, take a look at this video. This is video actually of that little girl being transported. Chopper 6hd was over the scene just before 6 30 in north philadelphia. Thats when the medics transported the young girl. Police received numerous 911 calls about the shots fired in the 3,000 block of marshall street. Police found three victims there, the 12yearold girl and also a 23yearold who is critical, shot in the neck and a 31yearold shot in the ankle. Both of the adults were transported to temple hospital. At the crime scene investigators found shell casings that show 19 shots were fired, some from an Assault Rifle others from a large caliber semiautomatic weapon. Not far from the shooting scene police found a toyota with guns inside that matched the description of the weapons used in the triple shooting. East detectives are speaking with the owners of that vehicle. Now, back out here live police have not ruled out if these two adults were the intended targets but they do know for sure that this young girl was just caught in the crossfire and she was hit by a stray bullet. Now, she is actually the sixth child just this week, the 12yearold is now the sixth child that is a victim of a shooting in this city. For now reporting live in hunting park, annie mccormick, channel6 action news. Back to you. Annie thank you. And a conservative legal group has won a lawsuit to make public as many as 30 more emails. Clinton has said she did nothing illegal. Clintons running mate tim kaine will be in the Lehigh Valley today. The Vice President ial nominee has been campaigning across pennsylvania all week. This afternoons event will be held at the Hanover TownshipCommunity Center in bethlehem. The u. S. Is bracing for a triple threat from the tropics. Back to back hurricanes are headed toward the big island of hawaii while florida is dealing with heavy rain from a storm churning in the gulf. Also, tropical depression eight has quickly over parts of the outer banks in North Carolina but there was no rain, just rough surf. For the jersey shore the storm to the south means strong rip currents. Lifeguards in ocean city are asking swimmers to stay in waste deep water. Red flags are out warning people of getting too close to the jetties where the undertow can be the worst and remember, only go in the water when there is a lifeguard on duty. Better safe than sorry. Youve been warning us about those rip currents. Yeah and the heavy surf, too. Its really two things you got to worry about. That waste deep water thing really important because if you get one of those heavy waves, neck injury, back injury, happens every summer. Storm tracker6 live double scan shows you that we are on the dry side out there across the region. And we are looking like its going to stay dry actually throughout the day but it is going to be hot and humid. Lets go ahead and get you outside and we have sky6, ben franklin bridge and theres a little bit of clearing going on out there. But overall a little low lying cloud cover and fog here and there and then weve got some breaks in the clouds coming pretty quickly across a good portion of the area where you dont have the low lying cloud cover. 73 degrees is your current temperature. Your dewpoint up there at 70 so it is on the humid side definitely. Anything over 60 is considered humid. Winds are light at 7 miles per hour. Satellite and radar right now shows you that there is that mix of clouds and sun building with a little bit of low lying cloud cover that should burn off quickly and today is going to be hot once again and humid. 72 degrees by 8 oclock. 81 by 10 00 but then 86 by noon and a high of 91 degrees by 3 oclock. It will be dry today but it will be on the humid side. High temperatures across the region getting up into the tupper 80s in trenton, allentown, wilmington, millville. A couple of 90s around. Down the shore it looks like low 80s for the most part. 83s and 84s but even though the temperatures on the beach are good and the Ocean Temperatures look good, do be careful of that combination of heavy surf and rip currents not only today but tomorrow and probably straight through most of the holiday weekend. Overnight tonight after midnight there is the chance of a shower or a thunderstorm rumbling through, maybe waking you up and a little bit more of that is possible into tomorrow afternoon. Were hoping that this model is wrong and we can squeeze out some sun across most of the region but there is that chance of a lingering shower especially to the east. In the tropics gaston a category three scooting out of here. Tropical depression eight still not a Tropical Storm. Same story on tropical depression number nine. As matt mentioned, eight never made landfall, just really stayed away from Cape Hatteras and those outer banks so theres no more watches up there. As this passes by us today, though, an increased chance of rip currents and heavy surf once again. And then your next storm is the one down in the gulf. This is also expected to become a Tropical Storm probably later today. Its slowing down a bit so that friday looks to be the day its going to come through northern florida and this track is moving farther north into parts of georgia. As we track this off of hatteras we will have to again over the weekend saturday, sunday be on the lookout for that heavy surf and look at how that storm wants to curve back in. If you have plans to head up toward cape cod for labor day weekend, look out. That could be a problem for you. Most of these spaghetti plot models are bringing this welt off of our coast. Were not super concerned about it right now. Again the rip current danger will be the issue along all of our local new jersey and delaware beaches. And those two hurricanes out in the pacific, both of them over the next several days threatening hawaii. So, well have to be careful of that if we have travel plans to hawaii between now and about saturday. Your exclusive accuweather 7day 91 hot more humid today. Tomorrow morning showers, giving way to hopefully some eventual late day sunshine, 84 is the high. Should be nice for the eagles at night and then beautiful weather after that. 83 friday. 79 saturday. 81 sunday. If youve got tickets to the please or temple football through that period youre in good shape and labor day a little bit warmer but also looking pretty good with a high of 86. Tuesday is when the heat and humidity build back in. Isnt that convenient that were waiting until after the weekend. Labor day already. I dont know where the summer went. How about that. If youre traveling in and out of it it seems a little bit more that its south and east of the city so Something Special to watch for there. As youre out there you want to watch for construction workers. You have reduced visibility. Theyre out here on business route one northbound at whitehead road in Lawrence Township in Mercer County so theyll be out there for just another 20 minutes at this point that should be blocked.
