On this wednesday, first day in the month of march. David and karen i guess its coming in as a lion. It is later this afternoon. Were starting out tranquil and mild but later this afternoon we are at a slight risk of Severe Weather for afternoon thunderstorms in particular and you can see this yellow all over the area. What that is denoting is that slight risk of severe thunderstorms. In fact its a moderate risk in this orange area that you see on the other side of lancaster. So, what were talking about here is that if any thunderstorm does form, particularly afternoon thunderstorms, they would have the potential of producing damaging wind gusts so you do wants to take cover from any storm that heads your way. In fact if your kids are getting out of school and its 3 oclock and the sky is turning ominous tell them just to stay in the school for a half hour and let this stuff go through. Some showers are and possible this morning but the big bulk of the issue today is this line of heavier thunderstorms and you can already see some watch boxes that are out to our west. Wouldnt be surprised if we get a couple of thunderstorm warnings here and there this afternoon as well. Visibility another issue especially south where were down about a mile or a little bit more than that. Not horrific fog but there is some patchy fog this morning. Temperatures are mild. Stepping out the door, you do end have to go overboard in the gear. Everybody in the mid to upper 50s away from the shore and south of the poconos. As we go through the day it is going to be warm. 70 degrees by noon, 74 by 3 oclock and then dropping quickly to 67 as those storms come through. But again this afternoon really any time after about 2 oclock id say out in the northern and western suburbs we got to be careful of that line of the strong stuff coming through. Karen ill show it to you on future tracker6 coming up. All right david. Interesting with the fog. We have a pretty sharp divide. Were looking live here in delaware county. This is i95 at 420 and you can tell by looking in the distance some pretty dense fog in spots on i95 between wilmington and the airport but once you get north of the airport, youre hardly noticing the fog. So, interesting enough that its cut off there. The Commodore Barry bridge within that area where you have some fog so thats the area bridge that now has 25 miles an hour maximum speed restriction. Nobody else does but we have that on the Commodore Barry because of the fog in area. 95 at cottman. Looking live maybe a hint of low clouds and thats it. Youre really moving fi bit s s. This ithboundheading towards cv. On the bigds reflecting that. Mostly 50s on i9 schuylkill and the bltue matt and tam. Thank e President Trump addressed a joint sessio of congress for the first time. He brought up many old promises u with a new more positive tone. Call to come together most of the president s pitches were only, though, received warmly by half of the roomily. The president repeated his campaign fledge make an invest n infrastructure. He focused on immigration referencing building a wall between the u. S. And mexico again and announcing a new office called voice focused on victims of crimes by immigrants. The president also pushed forward with his plan to repeal theafle care act. Mandating every american to buy government approved Health Insurance was never the right solution for our country. [applause] one of the most emotional moments came when President Trump praised karen owens, the wi senior chief ryan owens who rved a round of applause as tears streamed down her face. Owens was the First Service member killed during the trump administration. Ryas memory is etched into eternity. Thank you. [applause] as you know his father has been critical of the president sctions. President rump vowed to abolish radical islamic terrorism. Abc news reports the president plans to announce his revised travel ban this afternoon. U. S. And officials claim the remove iraq from the list of countries whose citizens face a temporary travel ban. Our Monica Malpass was in that washington for the address to congress. She spoke to local lawmakers for their reaction right after this speech and she filed this report. Reaction to the president s speech was swift and strong. We got a chance to talk to some of our local delegates on both sides of the aisle. Democrats criticized the speech for being short on details. He was speaking out of one side of his mouth while at the same time we in congress are having an entirely different experience. And so the contradiction between what he says and what weve been what weve been seeing from his administration is quite striking and quite offensive. What i really hope now is that all of us, my party, the republican party, and the Democratic Party does commit ourselves to working together and finding solutions to the issues that face us and if we do, then i think we can cause our country to continue to rise. We were really hoping for a speechould unite america, bring democrats and republicans together to focus on jobs and education. What we heard quite frankly is much of what we heard during e wants to do butno real plan t. We heard some details tonight on some issues. Were going need a heck of a lot more detail, though, from his budget which will be presented in probably another month or so. Now democrats say theyll look forward to next months budget when he presents details on how he plans to pay for all the lofty goals. Im Monica Malpass, channel6 action news from washington. Emergency official in illinois says one person was killed by an uprooted tree in the town of ottawa last night. Minor injuries were also nursin. As we take a look outside weve got cloudy skies for the most part. There it is, the battleship new jersey, looks like about half the lights are off this morning. And a little bit of patchy fog visible along the river. Some of you may see some of that on the way in and in most cases it doesnt look like its horrific but i just had someone tweet me 4 from essington who said its foggy out there. Step outside, a light jacket works. 56 degrees, winds breezy at 10 miles an hour. Taking a look at satellite and ssing shower, theres abit of ap on your windshield left over perhaps and later this morning another shower possible. The big issue, though, is this line of heavier weather. You can still see a couple of Severe Weather watch boxes out there to the west of us and that is coming in for later this afternoon. Future tracker6 shows you the morning shower. Might even be a thunderstorm this morning but i dont think any thunderstorm you see this morning is necessarily going to be of the severe variety. Of course they all produce lightning so you want to take cover. If you have stuff o to get done probably late morning in through the early afternoon youre fine but after about 2 00 or 2 30 in the western suburbs theres the chance of some showers and perhaps an isolated strong thunderstorm that comes through. And by 3 oclock, he we could get more of this coming through, perhaps 3 00, 0 right in the i95 corridor. The timing on this may be a little off. Could be a little sooner is, a little later but youre getting the idea. When it hits this afternoon you have a line that could include some strong wind gusts and by 4 30 or 5 00 that same line looks like it survives all the way to the shore o now if this timing works out okay the evening rush will be behind all of this, it will be windy but hopefully no more rain. Well see if the timing does work out that wa overnight a couple more of those showers coming in from the west are possible. Its going to be warm today ahead of all of this, 59 by 8 oclock, 67 by 10 oclock, 70 by noon and then 74 at 3 oclock with the temperatures tumbling pretty quick after that. Those storms come through and youre going to really feel the cooldown. High temperatures ahead of the rain, though, all in the 70s away from the shore where its going to be a little bit cooler. Your exclusive accuweather 7day forecast, todays high is 74. That by the way is close to a record high. And there is that chance of a strong thunderstorm briefly coming through during the afternoon and evening. It probably only takes about a half hour for the whole thing to get through, maybe 45 minutes. If you give it a little extra time after the storms past you sso that you avoid any jump back lightning. While its passing through better to be indoors. Windy and cooler tomorrow a high of 49. Down to 42 on friday and on friday there could be a passing rain or even a wet snow shower. 42 is the high there. For the weekend sunny and chilly on saturday, 44. David was showing the visibility reports and showing some improvement and now were seeing the improvement in our cameras. This is a live look at delaware county. A hint of fog right here at i95 near the Commodore Barry bridge. But they lifted the speed maximums on the Commodore Barry bridge, so now you can travel much more smoothly on the Commodore Barry bridge. We had some real dense fog on i95 between wilmington and the airport. That was kind of the sharp cutoff and now thats increased a little bit with the visibility and you can see that right here. Weve got 1 mile visibility Atlantic City and millville but now 5mile visibility in wilmington so the fog in wilmington not as bad as it was earlier. Its the same as it is in center city, 5 miles. Clear as a bell in the northwest in reading and allentown 10mile visibility so thats the difference there. So that live look kind of reflecting that right now. Lets switch our camera view here.
