Reporter it is and a lot of people are starting to pass underneath there just now. It was tuesday mid morning that driver says she was traveling under an overpass near 20th street when suddenly a piece of metal came crashing down on her car. This. Reporter Lindsey Richards is taking us through the scary moments when she claims a piece of metal nearly a foot long hit her windshield then bounced shattering her back window. Richards and her boyfriend were in the car their dog chase was too and she says their pet was injured. When it fell through it hit him he jumped in the front seat onto his lap. Reporter richards says she was traveling east on the vine street expressway under the 20th street bridge n shock she drove a short while before stopping in part because theres no shoulder to turn off on. Both state police and penndot cant say for sure if it was falling debris from a construction site above. The same strip of highway is undergoing four years of repairs as part of a 65 million project replacing structurally deficient bridges. Even though its penndots project, they said this in a statement to action news. The contractor is held responsible for any damage sustained in the work zone. Like we drove by later and tried to like find the exact location and then thats when we saw like the construction trucks and the company and stuff but they really werent doing heavy construction today, either, so thats why i dont know if its construction related or if its just bridge debris that is falling or what it is. Reporter as of last night, state police say they havent had any other incidents like this reported to them. The driver is hoping that other people who witnessed this do come forward to state police. Lew klein is a pioneer in the broadcasting industry and today Temple University announced thats school of media and communication will take his name. Temple says the Lew Klein College of media and communication honors his career in television, his more than six decades of Teaching Service to the university and recognizes a historic multimillion dollars gift to the school from lew and janet klein. Klein has launched several careers like bob sagget and of course dick clark. Klein was one of channel6s earliest employees and produced all kinds of shows including band stand which would go on to become American Band stand with dick clark.
