We have that accident on the boulevard northbound near ridge avenue but its been pushed off to the side so traffic is moving a lot better now and the traffic lights have been out at city avenue and president ial avenue and the streets, the overhead lights are also out on the schuylkill expressway near that area so you have to be careful and weve got the sinkhole in cheltenham we have been talking about. Chopper6 overhead. This is an enormous sinkhole. Its hard to see because its dark. As they kind of shine their lights sometimes you get an idea of how large can you see it there the sinkhole is in cheltenham. Watch for that. We have crews on the scene but theyre blocking brook road between argyle and chefield road. Its huge and its going to be awhile. Stick to mount carmel avenue to avoid the problem. Live on the ben franklin bridge westbound traffic coming into the city moving very nicely. No big issues. Developing right now Armed Robbers gunned a man down in the feltonville section then as that victim lay their bleeding on the ground they grubbed their way through his pocket. The victim was 33 years old. We dont know a whole lot about him yet but police say he does not live inside the city. This all remains under investigation but Police Believe the motive here was robbery. But they ton dont know what if anything was taken. Lets goal to video from last night in feltonville. This happened just after 8 30 last night. Police were called out to the 500 block of west luray street. The 33yearold victim was lying in the street when officers arrived. He had been shot in the arm and the chest. The officers took him to Temple University hospital in critical condition. He went into surgery but he died at the hospital. Witnesses told police that after the man was shot they saw the two suspects rifling through the victimsly pockets as he was lying there pleading ipleadpleading inbleedingin the. The victim lives outside the city. The the address and the i. D. Was in West Philadelphia so officers went to the address to see if they could learn more about where they got it from. There are a number of cameras in the area so police are hoping theres footage out there that can help in this investigation. Many of these cameras are part of our Safe Cam Program which means theyre registered to the Police Department and they cooperate with the Police Department when it comes to us getting a copy of the recordings. Police say the victim was visiting his girlfriend when he was approached by a man with a gun. The gunman opened fire shooting the victim in the leg. The gunman then drove off in the victims pontiac g6. The victim is in the hospital in stable condition. It is 6 06 and police in that south jersey are looking for a woman who stole more than a thousand dollars worth of baby products. Mount Laurel Police released these surveillance pictures. They say on sunday the woman loaded up a shopping today of the at the wegmans on centerton road with 45 cans of baby to many la and seven boxes of diapers and then left the store without payingly. Look at this backup on i95. Its that time of the morning. This is your southbound traffic headed towards center city. Were near cottman and looking now at a 23 and minute ride from woodhaven to the vine. Its the first sign of the morning jam and its hitting us right now. On the big picture were seeing slow speeds on i95. About 17, 18 miles an hour youre traveling as you head southbound from cottman nearly down to girard at this point. Our accident on the roosevelt boulevard northbound has cleared so traffic there and is moving much better. City avenue and president ial avenue the lights are out. Thats been causing big problems so use some caution there. The schuylkill is not looking too bad yet. Mostly 38 miles an hour. Our only other accident is on route 55 landis avenue right at route 55 so watch for that one in south jersey, tam. Okay, thank you, karen. Lets go back to that sinkhole there will in cheltenham township near glenside. This is the 700 block of brook roped. Thats a residential street. If youre and wondering kind of whats around it youve got station avenue on one side, Edge Hill Road all really busy all around that, the street sort of in between the two but take a look at that. You see the back of that pickup truck sort of dipping down into the hole. Again were told that there are trees that may be in there as well and homeowners all of those people sitting there looking at that big hole going where does this end. With a number of workers trying to get app handle on exactly what is going on and how to stop at this time. Well keep an eye on this and bring you more as it comes in. A man is killed during an Armed Robbery and as the man lay breathing in the street struggling through his last moments of life police say the robbers went through his pockets. He was pronounced dead at the hospital and the search continues for those suspects this morning. Lets go to video from last night in feltonville. This happened just after 8 30 in the evening. Police were called to the scene for a report of a shooting on the 500 block out of west luray street. Officers describe the 33yearold victim lying in the street t hed been shot in his arm and his chest. They rushed him to Temple University hospital in critical condition. He went into surgery but he did not survive. Witnesses told police they saw this man getting shot then saw two males going through his pockets after he collapsed in the street. We found identification we dont know if the identification belongs to the perp or a perpetrator at this time but that identification has an address in west philly so we have Police Officers in west philly staking out that property. Reporter and police say there are a number of survei areas where this shooting took place. Theyre on businesses, theyre on homes there so theyre hoping that they can find footage to help in this investigation to help identify those suspects. A gun shot victim rushed to a nearby gas station while wounded to get the help he needed. Police say the 24yearold man was walking with a friend when they encountered the shooter and got into a fight. It happened at 46th street and girard avenue in the parkside section at midnight. The victim is in that stable condition. His friend was not hurt. Happening today, former f. M. Congressman chaka fattah will report to prison. Chopper6 is live over it right now. It looks like that white truck which is partially in the sinkhole might have been simply parked in a drive way. Its between two homes there. Were widening out here as they have their flashlights turned on part of this sinkhole and you see howrge it may be. Extending from this road on t 700 block of brook road, perhaps all the way close to the foundations of those two homes. A huge problem developing in cheltenham township this morning. And if youre trying to get an image in your mind if youre in that area and youre wondering where is that again brook is a road that runs a little bit between station avenue and edge hill avenue. Those are sort of the bigger roads around it. Its near the north Hills Country club. A lot of houses as matt has been pointing out on this street and you just imagine those people waking up and looking out the door going what is going on and is it going to affect my house. Reporter and matt i heard what you were saying when you were getting that view from the chopper about that white pickup truck. We can tell you that many is parked in a drive way and it appears that the sinkhole, but it appears right here where the sinkhole is is part of the road but also the base of that drive way so pretty much the front portion of this persons drive way and part of their front lawn and past of their neighbors front lawn is in the sinkhole. Part of the pickup truck is now in it. Theres a tree and asphalt that fell in there from part of the road. This is on brook road. The 700 block of brook road in cheltenham. Neighbors say that the sinkhole covers a large part of the road even up to the foundation of one of those houses. Now, you of utility crews and police are on the scene out here. It was discovered overnight. Now, again, taking a look you can see all the people around here trying to figure out exactly how they can go about making sure this is stable in this area. They did that tell me that the home where the pickup truck is that in the drive way, they say people inside that home have been evacuated so have their next door neighbors but nobody else on the street has been evacuated at this point. What caused it still too early to know. Of course were always hearing during the winter months whenever theres moisture, there was a lot of rain over the past two days that could be a factor but at this point right now what theyre doing to try to get to the bottom of this is theyre closing down brook road between chetfield and argyle to try to figure what to do at this point.
