Police are looking for two systems in connection with the shooting that left an officer critically wounded an one suspect dead. Police say it started around 2 30 a. M. Outside the caesars casino on pacific avenue when officers were on routine patrol. They went to stop two individuals, im not sure why. At the time of the encounter, one of the individuals shot and wounded one of our Atlantic City Police Officers. Reporter police say another officer fired back killing one of the suspects. Two other suspects fled on foot. The injured officer was taken to the Atlanticare Regional Medical Center for surgery. Swat patrolled the area and protected the scene with guns drawn. Mayor said hundreds of officers responded to the scene. Im grateful to the Police Officers that came from galloway, egg harbor township, state police and county prosecutors have been back in the city joining the Police Department to try to end the investigation and find the individuals or suspects at this time. Authorities say the Atlantic City Police Officers were on routine patrol when they stopped a group of three men around 2 30 a. M. Outside caesars casino. One of the suspects opened fire wounding one of the officers. An officer returned fire striking the suspect, he was pronounced deceased a short time later. Reporter the injured officer was taken to the atlantic Medical Center for surgery. It is unknown why the officers stopped the group of men. Dozens of armed officers patrolled the area after the shooting. K9 were brought in to assist with the search.
