In some of our guidance coming up. Thanks veronica. Mitt romney is being praise aid cross social media tonight after his decision to step away from the 2016 president ial race. Romney has been looking and sounding a lot like a candidate for the past three weeks. But in a Conference Call with supporters today, he insisted he could win the next election but he said he decided his party would be better served by the next generation of republican leaders. This is one of the first big shakeups in a very long race to the nomination. Jool meet the press Moderator Chuck Todd has thoughts on all of this including who stands to gain. What comes to my mind first off, talking about mitt romney the next generation would be better served. Yeah. If im not mistaken that refers in part to at least jeb bush whos only six years younger. Thats not the next generation. No. A lot of people are interpreting that as a jab at jeb, basically saying hes not for jeb bush. Theres a little rivalry between those two, and i think in many ways jeb bush drove this. I think romney had been looking that the in a methodical way for quite some time, then jeb bush got in and it rushed his decision and romney almost looked like he was flailing a little bit as jeb but methodical about signing up donors and staffers. I think romney finally took a step back and realized the businessman in him looked at the metrics and realized this isnt a winnable primary for him, it would be hard to win. He decided ive been through it twice, i dont need to do it again. I interpret that line as anybody but jeb. Who do we think he has in mind then . Somebody not wellknown. Well i think, look i think today it does help jeb though whether he likes it or not. I think jebs helped in the money part of things. Obviously mitt romney is having dinner with Chris Christie so more people are trying to say, did that help christie . It does a tiny bit. Another big beneficiary is scott walker, governor of wisconsin, sort of the one antiwashington candidate, next generation, in his late 40s, and so hes somebody that some people think can bridge the sort of conservative activist and the establishment wing a little better than anybody else. Jeb benefits the most christie a little bit, and walker quite some. Do any of those names you mentioned matter at all to Hillary Clinton . Yeah. I think Hillary Clinton doesnt want to face jeb bush. Democrats really looking forward to mitt romney running because they love the idea that bush wasnt going to get a clean shot at sort of that establishment wing. You talk jeb bush speaks two language hillary speaks one. Jeb bush from the swing state of florida, a lot of reasons why the future Clinton Campaign does not want to face jeb bush alone. Theyre nervous about him. I think today was bad day for Hillary Clinton. Chuck todd thank you. Mitt romneys former running mate paul ryan, is one of chucks guests on meet the press this weekend. Ill show you that and look forward to the monday morning rush and Road Conditions. Lets head on over to the weather wall if youre going to be outside this eachenings, maybe its your turn to walk the dog. Look at this 26 by 9 00, a clear sky now, 24 by 11 00 p. M. Well continue to drop. And yet still that wind that weve had around the area today will continue to hang on with winds gusting just over 30 miles per hour. Lets go ahead and talk about super bowl sunday. This is the way its looking right now. From noontime until about 6 00 to 7 00 we could see some snow around portions of our area mainly well north of d. C. With rain and snow mix closer to d. C. The temperature, 37 but then the mercury is going to be heading up 38 39 degrees, maybe at 11 00 p. M. We have a dry pocket at p. M. But by 11 00 p. M. When a lot of folks will be headed home i think its mainly rain. 38 with mainly rain as we head into the monday morning rush. So these are the areas between noon and around 6 00 7 00 p. M. That could have a little bit of light accumulation. Coating of snow before switching over to rain. Its Montgomery County. Howard county Loudoun County northern faulkier county into arias of culpepper and Rappahannock County with more snow to the north around hagerstown and frederick. There could be 2 to 3 inches of snow before rain. Were at 35 on saturday and dry. That snow on sunday but again 40 degrees the temperature. So really with this system its the warmth thats keeping the snow away from us. Theres the rain heading out and exiting early monday morning. I think around 7 00 a. M. Or 8 00 a. M. Its already making its way out of here. As far as temperatures go for the rest of the week well see them continue to hang out in the 30s. But for monday right now just cautionary mainly rain at the bus stop early monday morning.
