We join Sebastian Salazar in the csn studios. Look, right now theres kind of a debate raging across the d. M. V. About the redskins. Is Deshawn Jackson worth the headache and the money . Ill say this. Hes got four touchdowns in his last five games, and without him, im not so sure the burgundy and gold are still playing for the Division Title tomorrow night against philly. Now, deshawn is not perfect. He missed some offseason workouts. He missed most of the preseason. Then he got hurt in week one and didnt play again until november. But when hes on the field, jackson is special. Hes averaging almost 20 yards per catch, an impressive number, but a number that is sure to grow as the chemistry between jackson and kurt cousins continues to develop. I think youre right. I think that, you know, deshawns early struggles, so to speak, had a little bit to do with him missing all of Training Camp and the first six, seven games. You dont just jump back in a wide receiver without the timing and continuity with the quarterback. As far as the success that me and kurt have had, its really been building the trust and know where im going to be at when im coming on my breaks. Im just doing my job. Hes doing his job, and were having fun doing it and winning at the same time. Were just trying to do Something Special here. Its a combination of understanding deshawns ability, a combination of understanding the system and have be repped that play several times that i think all of that comes together to lead to a potential completion and a big play. Again, its not a talent thing. Its an experience having been around the block kind of a thing. Kurt, desean, the rest of the crew heading up to philadelphia as we speak. They did get a practice in yesterday. Christmas very much a working holiday this year for the burgundy and gold with the accompanying playoff berth on the line tomorrow versus the eagles.
