We may see the same thing today because tide rrs expected to run high around 1 00 this afternoon. So theyre asking some of the folks around town, theres a car show in town, theres a number of things still going on. Quite a few people. Cost guard is back out this morning to search for a missing cargo ship in the bahamas. Lost contact after going near the eye of Hurricane Joaquin and taking on some water. Were seeing the winds come down a bit. Were still getting some rain in here, but of course thats not the issue with the flooding. Its all about the high tide, and the wind direction and some of those big breaking waves that you see over my shoulder. Those waves are about six to ten feet out there. Look at the sand drifts. So the beach really getting reshaped with the high winds, those winds today will stay up around 40 to 45 miles an hour at least. Meanwhile, well check in on the bayside. Well show you video from this morning, you can see the water levels over on the bay side for areas like the bay as well as isles of white. The water levels are getting high and high tide is expected between about 1 00 and 2 00 this afternoon. So its likely that were going to see some water, i think, come back out of there and inundate parts of the streets over there. Doubtful that will it comes as far as areas like coastal highway. Meanwhile, lets talk about the beach some more. Again the waves, you can see them crashing in. We hit the board walk today. We hit the beaches. There will have to be beach replenishment taking place after the storm passes. And after things calm down. We shot areas like right along the board walk. You can see benches just covered with a whole lot of sand, not looking inviting at all. Again the sand drips unlike the snow drifts, these are not going to melt. They will have some work to do once the storm pulls out of here. I expect things to start quieting down by about tuesday or wednesday of next week. Coastal flooding, counties around the bay here in green are under coastal flood warnings and advisories for the afternoon. At times of high tide which is approaching here around noontime, we will have those tides about three feet above normal and each and every tie tide between now and sunday is going to be abnormally high. Joaquin, staying still, well out to sea, near bermuda during the day on monday. Perhaps late on sunday night into monday as a category one hurricane. Then it takes a sharp right turn heading way off the new england coach. So no threat for the atlantic sea board from joaquin. And our temperatures right now, a big chill.
