expressway at mile marker 2 heart in courtney campbell. if you can, you are being asked to avoid that area. also developing this morning, fire fighters work to it broke out just after 3:00 this morning on west sligh avenue tampa. it happened at a four-unit town home complex in tampa. when crews arrived they could see smoke and flames coming from that unit. all four units are damaged. the red cross is now helping families affected by that fire. fortunately, no one was hurt. the cause of this fire was unknown. search and rescue crews will be out again today looking a man and his fiancee were out on a boat and stuck on a sand bar. the man got into the water and tried to push it free but likely took a step too many and went under water. he came back up once and then disappeared. his fiancee tried to throw him a flotation device and couldn't get a hold of it. officials with fwc say their last glimmer of hope this morning that the boater can swim. three men in hillsborough county are facing multiple charges this morning after deputies say they beat invasion. disturbing story here. the incident happened thursday afternoon in tampa at the bay west club mobile home park on kings point road. ricardo marquez torrez and thomas mendez rubina waited for the 83-year-old woman to walk outside before torrez pushed her back in. he beat her with a metal object and threatened to kill her according to investigators. didn't get far at all. he was tackled by a maintenance worker who was on his way out. deputies arrived and arrested him. >> concerning because we live down the street. i am glad that they caught the guy. >> deputies say thomas mendez urbina was driving the car torrez was in. he and lamar jewel were spotted a both were arrested. the woman's belongings are up returned. here is the good part, she is expected to be okay. in the fight against zika, health officials are hoping that cooler temperatures will help keep mosquitoes at bay. >> i think it helps, but what i am saying, we need more nights will it stays chillier. >> reporter: ed mild weather coming a day after governor rick scott confirmed three new nontravel related cases of the virus in miami's little river as a result, the cdc has upped their zika advisory telling pregnant women to reconsider traveling to all of miami-dade county and to avoid specifically avoid the two zika hot spots in miami beach. the cdc has also announced $70 million more in zika funding. st. pete police say a third person accused of stealing thousands of dollars in identity theft scheme has been arrested. detectives say isabella dallas used her job at a local customers' credit card information and pass it along to her daughter, jessica. officers say the two racked up nearly $100,000 in charges, but then police say chantal jones got involved. she is accused of opening credit card and bank accounts in other people's names. all three women are in the pinellas county jail facing felony credit card and id charges. tampa police want to speak with a person of interest in connection with a murder investigation. latoya smith's new boyfriend as well as the last person known to see her alive. the mother of three was found in the middle of west flora street. she suffered a severe head injury before she died. with wuss 17 days now until election day, 51 early voting sites are being set up and and amazon. reports say that the attacks came from millions of int infected with malicious software. cyber experts say this type of attack is often used in advance of a larger cyber event. a former nsa contractor accused of stealing top-secret information will stay in federal court until his trial. prosecutors say over 20 years harold martin iii took some of the government's most highly protected secrets that included information on cyber weapons and cyber capabilities. during a raid on his home earlier found dozens of computers. they say he took almost as much information as edward snowden. new jersey governor chris christie is further denying any prior knowledge of the bridge gate scandal. his former deputy chief of staff testified that she told him of a traffic study on the george washington bridge a month before it happened. prosecutors say that study was just a cover story for a political revenge plot against governor christie. christie has continue with with with unique and abdominal pain, diarrhea, they also have issues with growth puberty and bone health. so nutrition is paramount. >> reporter: the cause of ibd is not clear, but some believe it may be related to heredity, and bacterial imbalances in the gut. whatever the trigger the body basically attacks itself is a glitch in the immune system of the digestive tract. the immune system gets turned with lindsay in just a minute, but first up, a check the headlines. florida highway patrol on the scene of a double fatal accident happening right along the veterans expressway at mile marker two near the courtney campbell. screen burst into flames after being hit from behind by a mercedes in the northbound lanes. both the driver and the passenger inside died at the scene. the driver of the mercedes was expected of being drunk. they were taken to a local hospital. if you can avoid that area. hillsborough deputies arrest three men they say took part in a very violent home invasion. it happened thursdy afternoon at the bay west club they waited until a 83-year-old woman came outside and one of them forced her back into that house. according to investigators he then beat this woman and then hit her in the head with a metal object. they say he tried taking a safe but was actually tackled by a maintenance worker as he ran away. the two other men were caught by deputies at a nearby gas station. crews continue to search for a missing boat they are morning one day after he disappeared into tampa bay. boat got stuck and when he got out to push it he sunk below the water. joining us live from the courtney campbell causeway boat ramp. kelly, what can you tell news is. >> reporter: well, the search for that missing boater will resume again this morning. they had to suspend things overnight once darkness fell and now that the sun is coming up, we have already seen tampa pd on the scene this morning as well as the florida fish and wildlifeboat they are concentrating on this area just off my shoulder just off the boat ramp on the courtney campbell causeway. rescuers are looking for a man that went under yesterday just in the afternoon about 3:00. the man was in a rental boat with his fiancee when the boat hit a sand bar. he jumped overboard to push the boat off the sand bar and it went over. the boat drifted as he att attempted to remain afloat, resurfacing twice and when he time, his fiancee called 911. several agencies, tampa police and marine and they searched for the man until darkness fell last night. and as i told you, a florida fish and wildlifeboat remained on the scene to help with the search overnight, but now that that sun is coming up just behind me, we are expecting to see a lot more dive units out here as the search for that missing boater guys. >> inspire hope. and fox 13's linda hurtado is live in downtown company with details on this year's making strides against breast cancer walk. good morning to you, linda. i know this holds a special place in your heart, doesn't it? >> sure does, alcides. first of all, such a beautiful morning. i have a jacket on for the first time in i don't know how long. come down to amalie arena for the making strides against breast cancer walk. it does hold a special place in my heart as you mentioned. i was diagnosed with breast cancer five years ago in october. i can't believe it has been five years. but you know i was very involved with the american cancer society long before that because my mother was diagnosed with american cancer society helped her with many of their programs that we will be talking about today. first introduce john labad with lazy days. he is also the event chair. let's start with how -- you are expecting 20,000 people here today. how do you put together an event like this? >> with an awesome team of volunteers, as well as an incredible staff at the american cancer society. so he i have been very blessed to help put a team like this >> reporter: everybody has been touched by cancer and you have a personal reason for doing this. the beautiful woman standing next to you. introduce us to her. >> i have two sisters who are breast cancer survivors and my wife, hero and inspiration syril is a breast cancer survivors. 23 years surviving breast cancer. >> reporter: you are an inspiration to me and that's what i like about the walks. you meet so many people who are survived cancer, look great, look beautiful just like you. what does here today? >> it is deeply moving. one of the things you learn about you the experience of cancer is how much we depend on each other for support and to move forward in all aspects of life, and i know for our experience, that i have lived my life so much better having gone through the experience almost 24 years ago at this point. >> you take every day and just enjoy it. >> a blessing. you can dress in a coat. you can dress in shorts. people dressed in shorts. or dress up like these young ladies. a fun event. you can wear a tutu or just jeans. what is your name and what team are you with? >> i am tania washington. >> reporter: what is it about walks like this, ladies that you like to come out and participate? >> i like just supports cancer survivors because my mom is a ten-year survivor. >> reporter: you remember what it was like when your mom was diagnosed. >> it was kind of sad and scary because she didn't know anything about it, so it was crazy. >> reporter: so now you guys come out here and it is a positive thing. tell everybody why they should get up and come join you. >> you come out and have fun. if you want to lose weight, you can do that too. just do a lot of stuff with people. >> reporter: see the cowgirls rustling up here. one more question before we take off. so you don't have to be a survivor to come out to the what all is out here for people to enjoy if they decide to go for a walk in downtown tampa. >> loads of fun activities here as you can see from the thunder alley. we have a lot of our sponsors with booths, but most importantly, i think the experience of sharing it with everyone, all your friends and families and the survivors and the patients going through t this. >> this morning. this is at a recycling facility in ontario, california, just outside of la. the fire -- excuse me, the fire sent a huge plume of smoke into the air on friday. tracks and a back yard fence as well. scientists say a nasa sp spacecraft in or bit around mars has taken a picture of a large smudge where a european mars lander should be. the photo suggests the lander hit the right spot chances world news, an international team from the un says the syrian government has carried out a third chemical attack on its own people. helicopters dropped barrel bombs holding chlorine gas back in march of 2015. syria agreed to destroy its chemical weapons in 2013 under an agreement brokered by russia and the united states. the security council backed up that agreement with the resolution saying if syria did not comply, it will face action. meanwhile, the un's human rights council has passed a resolution calling for enhanced investigations into human right allegations and abuses in the whole lot of money to help support these animals in need. this is our only black tie event and by far our largest fundraiser, so we do really he can pences of taking care over 7,000 animals each year. we do lots of different things attuckss and tails and part is a silent auction, and this year an outstanding array -- 125 different baskets are r available for sale, and people donate this and people bid continue to. a live auction and a great party where we have adoptable animals like this little girl. this is lindsay. and lindy is -- lindy and just one adorable she came in with her littermates as little stray puppies and we fostered them and ready for adoption and me me attuckss and tails. all the animals that we take to the convention center all get adopted. a wonderful way to end the evening when everybody gets to go home. not only do we do over 7,000 adoptions every single year, a full service animal hospital for affordable health care, for folks who can't afford going to their veterinarian, they can come to our hospital to keep them in to a shelter and all kind of community outreach events. a free food program. a meals program. a meals-on-wheels for animals and educational programs for kids. so we are really out in the community a lot more than people realize. not just about adoptions.
