Handle snow in the south. Theyve had two this week, two storms this week, this is the second one. We keep telling you we kept telling you yesterday, it is a southern storm. You can see heavy snow falling around norfolk virginia, raleigh, North Carolina right near the rainsnow line, and it looks like there may be a discrepancy between rain and snow as this storm starts to sneak in to southern delaware. So looks like maybe some of the delaware beaches might be starting to get their first snowflakes. Lets break it down for you real quick. Well look little more in depth at the radar snow during the morning rush, even here in philadelphia, possible this morning heaviest snow will be south and east of i95. It will taper off by midday, several inches possible, in southern new jersey, as in southern delaware. So well continue to follow this storm all day long, but good idea for you to maybe leave few minutes early if youre not leaving until a little later on. Things are dry right now. This all happened in the citys fairhill section along the 200 block of west westmoreland street where 11 shell casings were found. Now, the woman was only hit once and police say after she was shot she tried to drive off and then hit three park cars, she was later pronounced dead at the hospital. More on that story to come. And three men accused of plotting to travel to syria without bail this morning with ties to our area. Two of the suspect arrested in new york yesterday. One, getting ready to boorda plane at jfk airport another at a home in the borough of brooklyn. The new jersey attorney general offices announce that Joyce Sheridan died of a stab wound. These would be actually the warmest temperatures of the day, believe it or not, in the 20s to the north of us, 31 in the city, after we get this snow it will get colder, 31 in wilmington, 34 in wildwood. So there may be rain mix in the with the snow there. Here is how big the storm is, it extends with snow all the way down to northern part of North Carolina, rain to the south of that, so as we look closer to our area, we see the snow now starting to edge into sussex county, delaware, right at this border, around where ocean city maryland is, and parts of the beaches bethany beach, dewey beach probably getting maybe wintery mix it looks like and the same for the jersey shore here. It looks like maybe light wintery mix starting, not all of this necessarily making it to the grounds just yet but it wont be long before it does. Then we go up here, we see it snowing in malt more also extending up into lancaster county, have to watch out there as well, where it is much colder. That will will be a snow event. It doesnt look like well see much. And everything just moves up during the morning rush hour from south to north as we look at the future cast. It lasts through the entire morning rush. By 9 00 we could see some of the sneaking into the city. Really on the edge here whether we will get too much snow or not. Maybe coating maybe an inch in philadelphia, but the heaviest amounts will definitely be to the south of sus. It looks like we will stay cloudy for most of the rest of the day. So as you travel today or coming up into or into delaware again, 95 they treated the roads watch for some reduced speeds across the delaware Memorial Bridge. As you travel into chester county, i dont think well see anything, one of those upside down casino of storms, right now coming out every downingtown, looking good on the turnpike, as you roll up to 202 no problems or delays at all. This one quarter after 2 00 in the grays ferry section just a short 50yard walk off grays ferry avenue, two, 23 year old guys on the street, shot by nine bullet as one of the guys had a gun on him that he never got to pull out. And the doctors and nurses at presbyterian hospital, while they were trying to save his life, as theyre taking offer his clothes they finds this loaded gun in the emergency room. This one on the other side of town, just before midnight, a 34 year old woman shot in her car shot at 11 times hit by just one shot, but it was a fatal one. She drove off crashed into many parked cars, here on westmoreland street, heres the chief inspector scott small who is finally done after very busy night himself. The woman says she was at a ross store in the portland area manager came to up her and said she was on National Data base of shoplifters. And she says when authorities asked to see the video the manager refused. I was shocked i was like, okay well, you wont show me. At least show them. Southern storm snowing heaviest looks like in virginia and the Eastern Shore of maryland, and were starting to see snow in southern delaware, and even a wintery mix in part of sussex county, it looks like, maybe some flurries are beginning around dover. Looks like mix every rain maybe sleet down at the jersey shore. All of this very light. It is just beginning to edge into our area. Wife got snow in the baltimorewashington area, as women, and also watching out to the west of philadelphia, lancaster county, some very light snow starting to fall there. Some of this sneaking into New Castle County. So the time willing of the storm pretty much the way we said it would be, moving in during the morning and continuing through the rush hour. So the Winter Weather advisory is for the northern two counties of delaware, all of southern new jersey, a winter storm warning in effect, this is the advisory, this is the warning, and thats down in sussex county, because thats where we expect the most accumulation. So we see the snow moving in throughout the morning again heaviest to the south maybe even three to 6 inches when all is said and done. Now in places like rehoboth, georgetown, one to 3 inches to the north of that, and a coating to an inch possible here in philadelphia. Again, couldnt be more inconvenient with the timing. Temperatures are in the 20s to the north of us, 31 degrees here in the city, that may ends up being one of the highest temperatures of the day, because once this storm is out of here, say around noon 1 00, we will start to see temperatures drop once again. So here is the sevenday forecast, with snow this morning, well have an average temperature around 31 degrees, 29 tomorrow, clouds in the morning, sun in the afternoon another frigid friday, still cold on saturday, as we stay below freezing, and then sun and clouds on sunday, looks like most of the daytime sunday will be dry. But we get perhaps wintery mix moving in sunday night into monday. And bob kelly looks like we could have a loft fun early next week with all kind of storms with the rain mix.
