37 degrees. Oh thats a chilly one. Fortyfour in allentown, 43 pottstown, here in the city at 51 but as chris said, bit of breeze making it feel little cooler we wont pull out the windchill map little too late for, that thats wintertime, a 1 degrees in dover delaware these are your wind out of the northwest 13 miles an hour in the city and wilmington, 5 miles an hour in allentown 10mile an hour breeze in atlantic city, 12 in wildwood. So nothing to show this morning, on ultimate doppler radar. We really wont have anything to talk about until tomorrow night. So what to expect . Breezy quite cool this morning, you heard us talking earlier in the week about sweater weather, it is here, then for the rest of the day very nice, seasonable temperatures, showers ahead for the weekend wide willed scattered, will it be a wash out, probably not, but well go through it all with you in our future cast, seven day forecast coming up too. Right now we check go with bob kelly, a lot of Important Information this morning. Good morning everybody 4 02 heres the game plan, for today as far as septa. Again, the northeast corridor shutdown, train traffic here. So the september at game plan for today is that theyll be running shuttle buses, from the trenton line, the end of the line, trenton station over to the west trenton station. And then theyll have extra Service Running on the west trenton line coming into downtown. So you can drive to the trenton station take the Shuttle Bus Service. Another option would be driving to the corn wells height park and ride. Take advantage of that huge parking lot that is there. Ninetyfive in woodhaven road, shuttle buses will take commuters over to the market frankford line at the Frankford Transportation Center, and bring you into downtown. New Jersey Transits game plan pretty much same, same concept, from the trenton station, you can use the river line down to the patco highspeed line and take the patco line up and over the benny into toward downtown philadelphia. Pack your patience, parking is going to be an issue septa throws out couple of tips like carpooling, or maybe having someone drop you off at some of the stations, because some of these smaller stations obviously dont have the larger parking lots. Lets go now to the amtrak situation. Service suspended again today new york to philadelphia, that includes all of the Regional Rails, and the asela express, the crash scene from yesterday still an active emergency crews here, frandford avenue close today vehicle traffic torresdale to castor, and watch for some local detours in that area. Otherwise, well see a lot of ex interest volume up and down 95. Yesterday was that wildcard day, folks saw what was happening, had a chance to take a personal day but i think we will see everybody trying to navigate back into the system today. Obviously 95 runs parallel to the tracks. And we will see a lot the natural default for a loft folks. Keep in mind there is the Construction Zone, like here, at girard avenue. Good news if you use the pennsylvania turnpike, last night we had that is they have to get all of the Passenger Rail cars off the tracks and theyre already doing that. We were told three cars were removed by 11 00 last night. Our man jared who came out here somehow, was able to get out of the car quick snap a still picture. We will show you that at 15 minute to 4 00 with the latest rail car being moved out on a flatbed at frankford and allegheny right at the sunoco over thereby 95. So that, you may pason the road this morning and you pay see in aerial pictures from the helicopterment it is amazing that some of those rail cars are still in one piece, because the one was being bulldozed together. Well the big story out here no surprise to anybody who was watching all morning yesterday that the federal investigators initially, we told you they werent going to waiting it before they look at the black box. They determined this guy was going double the post dollars speed limit through here. 106 miles an hour, and thats why the devestation was so bad. The train was traveling at approximately 106 Miles Per Hour. You dont have to be a georgetown law graduate for that to raise questions. But still there are issues that have to be investigated and concluded on by forensic evidence. If you look at that scene i cannot imagine the mental anguish that people are feeling right now. There are ntsb apparently said to you safety precautions that need to be added we need to spend the money to do it. Have we talked to the engineer the answer is no, but we plan to. Thats certainly a high priority for us to interview the train crew. While the key to the train crew is brandon, looking at picture of him worked adam track since 2006, right out of college. His only experience before that working at target. What he did was he started as passenger conductor then moved to the engineer job and in 2009. So the question why was that train going so fast when it should be slowing down. Well thats what the mayor came right out and wondered, what was going on with him at the time. We told you yesterday, standard protocol to take blood work. He even handed in his cell phone were told. Theyll wouldnt war was going on, because he did engage the emergency brake, and that tells you with plane common sense, you dont have to be a federal investigator, he was awake, not asleep or incapacitated. Was he distracted in the because if hes been working as an engineer, lived in queens probably new this track like he knew his own personal driveway at home and why was he not going the speed limit like he should have been going. And this trainee sedgley jackknifed. Thats why you saw the locomotive go one way like you see in these tractortrailer accidents seeing the behind parts go every which way. Soap well find out more answers in the weeks and months to come. But for now, the key answers are this did they account for everybody and still, is the answer is no. And jenny joyce handling that part of the story this morning. Guys back to you. Great work, steve well check back of course as the story develops. As steve just said this morning, learning more about some of the victims. At this. 7 people are confirmed dead, eight are in Critical Condition, but there are many more who are required to have hospital treatment of course, theyll be in the hospitalment fox 29s Jennifer Joyce live at Temple University hospital with much more on this, jennifer, good morning. Good morning chris, lauren yesterday we did get an update from Temple University that 22 people remain at the hospital here, as you mentioned, eight of them are in Critical Condition. How much, yesterday we did hear from the chief medical office here said that all of the patient who are here at temple are expected to survive. So thats good news. Unfortunately, chris as you mentioned, seven of the victims have not survived. We do have identities of some of these victims the latest victim identified is darr he can griffith, dean of Student Affairs and enrollment management at nEvers College in brooklyn, new york, spent several years making a difference in education formerly principal in 2003 founded the City University of new york prep high school. Another person confirmed dead, wells fargo Senior Vice President , avid, seen here in linked in profile. We also heard from the mother of 20 year old justin, he died in the crash he was a midshipman at the Naval Academy in annapolis headed home to his family in rock away beach, new york when the tragedy struck. Jim gains, also did not survive, doctors say he was transported to Temple University hospital. Could nod be resuscitated, died of massive chest injuries designed Video Software, leaves behind wife and two children, 11 and 16 years old. Rachelle jacobs was first reported missing then confirmed dead by her family. The mother after two year old son, and ceo of the start up tech company in University City was headed home to new york after a late meeting when the tragedy struck. The search continues for victims like bob of baltimore the mans 13 year olson is pleading for help to find his father. I was just helping trying to spread the word to see my father. I mean, we dont know where he is which hospital hes at were not sure. We have very little information. And it is frustrating. For me i havent seen him since two hours before myla cross practice. Everyone us a just frustrated. The numbers that they told us to call, they supply very little information. Everyones just frustrated and worried and it is just hard to wait. It is hard to keep the patience. And the family says he works for a chemical company. He was on train 188 headed to business meeting in new york. He has a wife and two children, if you have any idea where he may be you are asked to call amtrak or Philadelphia Police as officials continue to try to will he kate other missing victims. Lauren chris . All right jennifer, thank you. Anyone with questions about family or friends aboard the train can call amtraks emergency hotline 18005239101. Amtrak also asking any passengers who were on the train and doing well to call them and report their status. As investigators comb through the wreckage of amtrak train 188 the railroad suffers another blow there is one in congress. The timing here, boy a house panel approved spending cuts to amtraks budget just hours after the deadly crash yesterday. The gop bill will cut the budget by 251 million down to 1. 1 billion for the upcoming fiscal year. President obama asked for nearly 2. 5 billion for amtrak spending in february. He wanted the money to improve tracks tunnels and bridges. And our coverage of the deadly Train Derailment continues on line finds the most uptodate plus photos and videos from the scene all there right now on myfoxphilly. Com. 4 12. So we are hi, dry today it should really be not only a sunny day but seasonable day those unusually warm temperatures are begin for a little while. But this warmfront will be moving in and as warmfronts often do, sticking around for awhile, meaning, over the weekend, look at this . Although it is pretty coal in the pocono mountains this morning, look at that, almost the entire western part of pennsylvania upstate new york. What is it, the 14th day ofy . Yes. Looking at the calendar, 42 degrees in detroit. Fortythree in chicago. Fortynine in cincinnati. Very chilly morning, for a lot of people. Thirtyseven in mount pocono. Fiftyone in the city. But your kids will be waiting at the bus stop in temperatures in the fours, in reading, and lancaster and pottstown, this morning in atlantic city, wildwood we have 526789 we have little bit after breeze, as well. As we look ahead to the future cast we jump to friday afternoon, when we see the first of those showers start to move in. It is really not until late friday night think think well see cloudy skies on friday but saturday sunday, a break in the action occasional showers break in the action, we ghetto cash until showers. That will be the case along with warmer temperatures, both saturday and sunday. So braking down the seven day forecast beautiful today mid seven ps tomorrow, increasing clouds then the temperature zooms up with the warmfront, into the 80s on saturday, and sunday but it is a bit unsettled with a chance of occasional showers and maybe a pop up thunderstorm. Monday we will have mostly cloudy skies back to the 70s tuesday maybe some showers as well seasonable temperatures returning. So this coming up, i believe bob kelly, is the weaken before memorial day weekend. Right . Lilt preview, get my short out. Yes. Can i wear white after memorial day . Yes. Because i have my shoes. As long as you have the leisure suit with it. Great combo for the first day after the holiday. Morning, grab your leisure suit and lets g heres the game plan for septa today. They have shuttle bus system in place between the trenton station and the west trenton station. And then extra service will be added on the west trenton Regional Rail line to give folks a chance to get into downtown philadelphia. So thats the alternate for the trenton line. Let the other option would be parking at the 95 corn wells height park and ride taking advantage of the huge parking lot and then the Shuttle Bus Service will get you over to the market frankford line to further your trip. Obviously you can drive to anyone of those stations along that line, but keep in mind, parking is going to be tight. New Jersey Transit couple of options on the new jersey side again you have new Jersey Transit rail, which will bring folks into the trenton station you can take the new Jersey Transit river line and then the patco highspeed line will bring you into philadelphia. So a number of options mass transit wise. Lets talk about amtrak. The northeast Corridor Service still suspended between new york and philadelphia, that includes the regional and the asela express trains. Couple of tips for today extra time of course think about carpooling, think about parking. The parking garages were maxed out yesterday so septa asking to maybe carpool or maybe get dropped off at one of the stations along the way. New Jersey Transit they are crosshonoring for all systems south of that i195 corridor. Soap again all of the roadways north and south into and out of philadelphia have some options or will see extra volume today. Obviously 95 will be the big one, keep in mind the Construction Zone here at girard avenue. The roosevelt boulevard on the jersey side value route 130 and i295. Again, extra time getting out the front door this morning. Welcome to town. The gang rowing for the stoat berry regatta Biggest High School regatta, takes over the city today. The kelly drive will be closed to vehicle traffic this morning, at 11 00. And remain that way through saturday evening. So again all of the extra volume pushed on to the schuylkill. Some afternoon baseball, philliespirate, 1 05, will throw extra volume into the mix at lunchtime. Bamm instant traffic jam once the game is over for the beginning of the evening rush hour. Here is a live look at i95. Again, if you are going to use 95 as your alternate keep in mind were tip beingly jammed solid, 45 to 50 minutes during the morning and afternoon rush hour. Right now that left lane is still blocked with overnight construction between girard and center city. Chris, lauren back to you. Bob, thank you so much. Coming up we return to our top story the deadly Train Derailment in philadelphia. What were learning this morning, about the trains engineer. Good morning, thanks for being with us on this thursday may 14th 2015. The big story following the latest development from the deadly amtrak crash from tuesday night. The latest information is that a seventh person has died and we understand that that train was going 106 Miles Per Hour before heading into that turn in port richmond. The post dollars limit there is half that, 50 Miles Per Hour. Of course steve keeley have the latest on the investigation, jenny joyce is live at the hospital with more on Peoples Health victims people getting back on the road to recovery. First we start with sue serio with a check of our chilly, chilly thursday forecast. Right. We are walking out the door to temperatures that are a lot chillier than they were earlier in the week. 37 degrees, in mount pocono, 43 is all we can manage in pottstown, it is 45 degrees in lancaster, here in the city it is 51. Along the shore 49 degrees, atlantic sit down dover delaware 51, 49 wilmington the breezes contribute to the coolness outside. 13 miles an hour, the breezes in philadelphia and wilmington, 10 miles an hour atlantic city. Northwest breezes thats where the cooler air comes from. Nothing to show you at the moment on saturday light and radar. Soap here it is. A high of 73 degrees, today, which is seasonable, we only got to 88 the day before yesterday. That will was unseasonable not ready for the extreme temperatures. Seventythree today 53 tonight, another cool one. We will talk about the changes coming in time for the weekends in just a few moments, but a lot of Important Information in this traffic report. Good morning bob kelly. Sue, good morning everybody, 4 32, good news, all of the major roadways are open. Game plan for mass transit and that situation on the northeast corridor. Again, northeast corridor closed shutdown between trenton and philadelphia. Heres the game plan for septa commuters this morning. In place of that trenton line, new Jersey Transit is supplies shuttle buses from the trenton station over to the west trenton station. From there septa has beefed up service, on it west trenton Regional Rail line, that will give you access into center city. Thats option number one option number two, you can drive to the corn wells height park and ride, taking advantage that far huge parking lot there off of 95 and woodhaven road. Septa will supply shuttle buses during the morning and afternoon rush hours to get you over to the Frankford Transportation Center from there, the market frankford line will take new downtown. There are close to a thousand parking spots available at that Frankford Transportation Center for those that want to drive to the train station or of course, you can drive to anyone of the stations along the lines here, the west trenton or the fox chase. Lets go to new Jersey Transit, some options coming down the jersey side, would be that new Jersey Transit river line. You can access that here at the trenton station that will get you down to the patco station, and then the highspeed line up and over in toward center city. Here is the deal with amtrak, Service Suspended again today new york to philadelphia, couple of thursday tips for you. Give yourself some extra time. Carpooling is suggested. Keep in mind, there is limited number of parking spots at each of the stations along the way. New Jersey Transit theyre going to crosshonor all systems south of i195. So all of the roads that run parallel to that northeast corridor are going to see extra volume today. Route one i95 of course will be the big one watch for that crunch through the Construction Zone there and if you are driving down on the jersey side, obviously route 130, or 295 and we expect to see extra volume over the bridges. Yesterday, a lot of folks did take a day off and that personal day. Woe saw that in the light volume. I think today though everyone will try to venture back into the system between today and tomorrow. So give yourself some extra time. Keep in mind at 11 00 theyll close the kelly drive for the stoat berry regatta taking over the town this weekend afternoon baseball, phillies and pirates set to first pitch at 1 05, chris lauren back to you. Role quickly before we let you go. I95 you mentioned construction getting around the crash scene and other ways to get around . Are they going to put a moritorium on the construction . No, they cant. There is no way to get around that i95 will have the three lanes, again like i mentioned the last time around, height of the return hour, usually takes about 45 to 50 minutes. Obviously thats going to be increased by that extra volume. So the extra time, especially until everyone get used to there is this will be with us for about a week. What a mess. All right thank bob appreciate it. Ntsb will be back on the deadly Train Derailment accident. Investigators say the train was traveling at 106 Miles Per Hour twice the speed limit as it took a curve and crashed on tuesday night. And the black boxes are being reviewed for more clues into what happened before the crash. Meanwhile, the trains engineer refuse to go give a statement to Law Enforcement at this time. Federal investigators want to talk to him. But are giving him a couple of days to recover. And he has lawyered up. Jennifer, we understand now that seventh person has died, and we also have just on the same block as our station eli kulp who is the part owner and chef, renouned one at that, who is also, we understand, in serious condition, he was on board that train. Yes, chris, lauren we know he was among the injured. And understandably he was not ready to do any interviews with us. He was one of the injured. We have 22 p. M.
