Neighbors say they ducked for cover some hearing as many as nine shots fired. The suspects took off on bikes. Police conducting at this hour a massive search on the ground and in the air. They did put some people in handcuffs at one point but say that was just for questioning. No arrests yet. The child taken to Saint Christophers Hospital in critical condition. His father taken to temple hospital in stable. No word at this errly hour on a motive at this point. A lot of people outside on friday night. Some do report seeing men on bikes taking off. Captain George Foukes explains what happened next. We have a 26yearold male whos sitting outside on his porch with his child, his child two years old. And theres enjoying the nice summer evening. When all of a sudden two males come down on bikes stop in front of his house in the street and basically begin firing up towards the porch area. And they fired off multiple rounds, and the father was struck in his right knee and unfortunately the child took the worst of it he took four shots to his back. Reporter and so it continues to be a very active scene here. Again, no motive. Were told there were some wet, witnesses learning some new information on the suspects. Apparently wearing sleeve less shirts one may have been in a white shirt. The other one a red shirt as we mentioned they were on bikes wearing cut off jeans. One of those bikes had a wide wheel with potentially covered spokes. Were also being told there are cameras in this area. I was like so shocked, because ive been living here for over decade now, and ive never seen anything like this. So it was like so surprising. Reporter her nerves are rattled knowing shes right across street from darby borough house a young mother of two was shot to death on the 100 block of Spring Valley road. It is very scary. I live right here. So i am scared. Report roar police say early this morning, 26 year old crystal lynn thomas was shot once by her boyfriend 3184 old edward moses, jr. In she didnt get flying around here. She basically kept to herself. Reporter cops say Thomas Little boy and little boy were in the house at the time of the murder. Sources say moses is the father of the boy. Its just senseless that you would shoot your childrens mother and leave her in there to die. Report roar neighbors would see moses at the house from time to time but never saw trouble with no sign of a killing coming overnight. There was noise in the breezeway and his car was park in the back end got in the car and he left. Reporter investigators say Family Member entered the home and found thomas fatally wounded in the bathroom. Police were surprised to see that neighbors volunteered information on their own. They cant say enough about the people in Lansdowne Park in the Spring Valley and weymouth road area many we would not have been able to do this. Im glad that the community did speak to the police a lot of us were interviewed and he was apprehended. Reporter tonight that suspect is in custody facing numerous murder charges.
