A closure westbound goody drive in the rockville area is closed between picard and montgomery avenue for a tractortrailer that closes all lanes. She ran over two men, one of them twice and this morning Arlington Police are asking for the publics help tracking down this hitandrun driver. Police say she pulled into the parking lot of mk auto sales, hit two parked cars and then she started to drive away. That is when things took a nearly deadly turn. Reporter we still dont know why this woman did this, but i do want to show what you police say happened. They say this woman drove in this parking lot here at mk auto right off of columbia pike. She say she drove in through here and hit several cars and the two owners as they were coming down the stairs here to try and stop her. Thats when she came back and hit one of those men a second time. Take a look at this video so you can see what the scene looked like last night. One of those men was not seriously hurt but the other man who she hit twice had life threatening injuries. He had surgery last night at gw hospital. At last check he was in Critical Condition. Police do not know they do know this was no accident. We feel quite certain this was an intentional striking. Whether it was for the purpose of getting away or not, we dont know at this time. Reporter right now youre taking a live look at cameras outside of mk auto that police say they hope to grab the Surveillance Video from to help them in their search. Theyll plan on releasing that video to us and will be using cell phone video taken from witnesses here at the scene last night. They ask anyone out there if you have any video or information about what happened or description of this woman, they ask that you give them a call. Theyre also asking people to keep a lookout for a woman who was driving a light colored Toyota Highlander suv. They say thats what this woman was driving when she hit these men and drove off. An amber alert had been issued for 5monthold drew denny on tuesday. Police say deare denny turned himself into police hours after abducting his daughter from her mothers home in poolesville. He had punched the mother in the face and then drew a gun on the mother, put the 5monthold infant into a black small suv. The baby is safe and has been reunited with her mother. Theres no word on what prompted the father to surrender. Relatives of a woman killed after smoke filled a yellow line train when she was righting on metro say they are planning to sue the transit agency. The family of carol glover is going to file a multimillion dollar lawsuit in the case. Glover died of accuse respiratory failure and dozens of other passengers became ill from the smoke that filled the tunnel and the train car. Many of the people who were sick are also suing metro. The National Transportation safety board is still investigating. Work crews will be back on the job this morning at the scene of a sinkhole that swallowed up a car and forced several families from their homes in hyattsville, maryland. There is a new push this morning to end puppy mills in Montgomery County. The Humane Society is calling for some new legislation that would require pet stores to sell animals from rescues and shetters only shelters only. If the bill passes, the county would follow dozens of other jurisdictions who have similar laws. People buy pets from pet shops who support the mills. Then they come in here because they didnt know the background of the animal to start w. It comes here and we end up putting it up for adoption. Council president George Leventhal says right now no Retail Stores in the county are selling dogs and cats from puppy mills but he says the bill is intended to prevent those kinds of sales in the future. This morning parts of the northeast begin to get back to normal after yesterdays massive snowstorm. Yet some areas are not out of the woods. Reporter snow continued to blanket parts of eastern massachusetts overnight freezing some homes and cars in time. About 30 miles south of boston, marshfield saw some of the worst damage when a storm driven high tide destroyed a portion of the sea wall knocking some homes off their foundations. The mendoza family woke up to find water rushing into their basement. They went outside to get into the family car to escape. Fortunately something didnt feel right. They jumped out of the car and it was swallowed by a sinkhole. No one was hurt and now wssc is going to play for the mendozas problems and a handful of other families forced out of their homes because of that 90year old main breaking. The family of carol glover who died aft january 12 smoke incident in a metro train at Lenfant Plaza is going to file a multimillion dollar lawsuit against the Transportation Agency this week. Residents will be able to voice their opinions tonight about the ongoing project on i 66 which will ultimately expand express lanes and the bus service in northern virginia. In her testimony before the Senate Judiciary committee, lynch is expected to highlight her priorities for the justice department. If she gets the job, she will likely not have the combative relationship that exists now between congress and the current attorney general. Hopefully that will help her today in this hearing. Reporter lynch can expect Committee Members to ask tough questions on immigration and the president ial use of executive power. A florida woman at center of a stand your ground case is free after three years. In 2010 Marissa Alexander claims she fired a gun at her estranged husband in self defense. The case drew National Attention because alexander unsuccessfully tried to invoke a stand your Ground Defense and she was sentenced to 20 years despite not injuring or hitting anyone. Her trial came a few responsibilities after George Zimmerman invoked a stand your Ground Defense and was acquitted of shooting and killing trayvon martin.
