Occupant came home and found an adult and child in the basement, both unconscious, presumably electrocuted. There was a sump pump nearby. The basement of the house was saturated with water, did have a stairwell adjacent to where they were found that was full of water. There was a sump pump that appeared to be used. We believe that somehow or another the sump pump may have electrified the water, conducted the electricity and shocked them, maybe electrocuted them. They were found unconscious. Cpr was initiated by First Arriving firefighters when they got on the scene a few minutes later and they were immediately transported to local hospital. An adult female and a child approximately four or five years old. And still unconscious when they were transported, is that what you said . Reporter yes, they were transported, what we would call priority 1, which means its serious and potentially life threatening. Presumably they were both electrocuted. Pete, thanks for that information. And in wheaton, maryland, a large tree has fallen onto a house. Were being told one person, possibly elderly, is trapped inside the residence, near randolph road. Heres the radar over the past hour. Most the activity now pushing across the bay. Still leftover activity in Southern Maryland. These green boxes, those are all flash flood warning. Flooding is occurring in much of the metro area. A little heavy rain huntingtown to dunn kirk, pushing off to the north and east. Rainfall, probably about an inch, inch and a half or hour. Dont see any hail with that storm, nor do we see anything tornadic. Were looking at in terms of the watch, there is still the tornado watch in effect now until 8 00 for Charles County and for calvert county, also for st. Marys county. These are severe thunderstorm warnings across the bay. Well see if this gets trimmed. Right now, the watch is in effect until 8 00. Thats why weve issued a red alert. What about storm damage . Lot of flooding reports certainly. These are all indications of flooding or high water, but well zoom into the south and the east. This is where the action was today. Flooding has been a problem in many areas. Looking at doppler rain estimates for the last 24 hours, you see the purple, were talking in the 2 to 3. Reds are 3plus inches. There was a lot of rain that fell this morning and also this afternoon. Not so much north and west, but you go south and east, weve got radar estimates over 3 inches. This is one of the reasons. Thats 3. 2 there. This is right where that tornadic storm is coming across there. I dont think it was tornadic there, but maybe toward newburg. Weve got to wait for more reports, and there are going to be more reports. Were looking at areas around germansville, 2 1 2 inches of rain. Plenty of flood warnings. You see the bright green, thats a general flood warning. The light blue, these are flash flood warnings that are in effect. Some of them go until about 7 00, 8 00 tonight. High water, dont drive through it. Not worth it. Turn around, dont drown. What were looking at as we go through the evening, still the threat for a few showers and storms. Right now, were not thinking its going to be as severe, but i dont think were quite done with the rains just yet. Here we are, 10 30. They also tell me the 34year old woman had a protection order against the father of her three children. She recently moved to this apartment complex trying to start new. Witnesses ask they not be identified for fear of their own safety, saying the family had just come back from church when they heard the commotion. These are all severe thunderstorm warnings, but this is the watch. Again, Charles County, king george county, also friends over in st. Marys county and calvert county. It is not going to be expanded to the north and west, which is one of our fears earlier today. Lets talk about what we can expect now. The warm front is pushing through. That means well still run the risk anyway of another line of showers and thunderstorms. Dont think its going to be superintense, but i think well see one more batch roll through before we clear out.
