Twilights pop-up space to reimagine Flinders East
Townsville City Council, in collaboration with the nearby traders, is opening a new pop-up community space on Flinders Street East that will host events and create a new waterfront experience for residents and visitors.
The Twilights space has been installed in the Flinders Street East carpark for the coming two months and features seating, fairy lights and a ping pong table for city visitors to take advantage of prime waterfront viewing and to allow for businesses in the area to use as a pop-up function space.
“Council and East End Traders have been working together to re-imagine Flinders Street East, both to boost patronage for businesses and to generally enhance our central business district,” Community and Cultural Development Committee chairperson and divisional councillor Ann-Maree Greaney said.
