Vaccine booking text with disconnected phone number and website sent 'in error' to more than 3000 people

A text message advising people to book their vaccine through a website that doesn’t yet exist and a phone number that was disconnected was sent in error, the CCDHB says. (File photo).
More than 3000 people in Wellington received a text message asking them to book their vaccine through a website that doesn’t yet exist or by calling a phone number that was disconnected.
The text, sent on Tuesday, was sent to people in group 3 in the Capital and Coast District Health Board area, asking them to book a vaccine through the Government’s new website bookmyvaccine.org.nz, which is not due to be launched until next Wednesday.
