Warren County opened its new, $5.6 million fire and rescue station today.
Warren County Fire Marshal Gerry Maiatico spoke by phone about the project reaching completion and the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic put the kibosh on plans to hold a ribbon-cutting for the facility.
âUnfortunately, due to the COVID regulations and restrictions, and out of an abundance of caution for staff, weâre not gonna be completing a ribbon-cutting ceremony,â Maiatico said Friday.
Volunteers and staff with the Department of Fire and Rescue Services plan to move vehicles and other equipment from the old Rivermont station to the new station, Maiatico said. The department then will begin staffing the station 24-7.
