Finnish technology firm Wartsila has invested a further €1mn ($1.2mn) in Finnish CO
2 direct air capture firm Soletair Power Oy, it said on March 2, following up on its €500,000 investment in 2019.
"This latest investment enables Soletair Power to further its global sales efforts and to scale up the manufacturing of its CO
2 capture solution for building ventilation," Wartsila said. "The investment enhances Wartsila’s position at the forefront of decarbonisation technology, and the capture and utilisation development of CO
2."
Soletair has developed a solution for capturing CO
2 from buildings, which can be used in creating synthetic renewable fuel, and for various other purposes. The technology is the first in the world with building integration, Wartsila said.
