An nbc 10 viewer also exposed this private bus driver apparently texting while rolling along the new jersey turnpike. The commuter board the commuter aboard the new Jersey Transit asked us not to show her face because she has to ride buses every day. It makes me angry. I want to yell at him like what are you doing . If youre committing yourself to driving people to and from nsit told us it sends undercover supervisors on routes to make sure rules are followed. New this morning, more eyes will soon be on the streets of camden. City council is expect tonight to approve the purchase of 90 new eye in the sky policing cameras. Nbc 10s matt delucia is live in camden where the cameras are almost all over the place. You got an inside look at how this Hightech System works, right . The cameras have been around for a little while, since 2011. This could would be the new e face of that program. Camden has 130 cameras in the city. The police and the mayor want an additional 92 cameras this would cost about 2. 3 million. These cameras have been credited with reducing gun violence by almost half since 2012 and have been linked with a shot spotter system to target areas where gunfire has been detected. The asitant chief said he would want even more cameras after this installation. The vast majority of our hot spots are covered. Thats whats important to us. This will help increase the density within those hot spots. Reporter the department is pretty confident this will Pass City Council tonight. If it does the assist and the chief of police tells me the new cameras should be up and running in two to three months. The potential for strong storms this afternoon, Severe Weather, the greatest possibility is to the south, damaging winds and hail. That does extend into delaware and south jersey.
